Pervert in the Palace: Carer awarded MBE by Prince Charles faces jail for catalogue of sex crimes

Paedophile Trevor Francis was recognised for working as station master in his home town for 20 years while the abuse went undetected.

Francis, 71, was found guilty of abusing children in the 1970s
A man facing jail for sexually abusing vulnerable children was awarded an MBE from the Prince of Wales before his crimes were exposed.
Paedophile Trevor Francis attended a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in 2012, where he received his medal from Prince Charles.
The 71-year-old was recognised for working as station master in Aberdour, Fife, for 20 years while the abuse went undetected.
Two years after he was honoured with an MBE one of his victims came forward to police and described the abuse she suffered in his care at St Margaret’s children’s home in the 1970s, the Daily Record reports.
Francis became manager at St Margaret’s, in Elie, in 1973 after paedophile David Murphy was sacked.
He was employed to remove the threat of abuse, but he subjected kids to beatings and sexual assaults, a court heard.
Prosecutor Eilidh Robertson told jurors: “He abused the trust of vulnerable people he was paid to protect.
“He perpetrated physical and sexual abuse towards them and managed to stay undetected because of his Jekyll and Hyde personality.
“The accused might seem mild-mannered, an upstanding citizen, a family man.
“His wife was at pains to tell you that her Trevor would never have acted like that.
“We are dealing with an intelligent, manipulative man who can turn on and off that predatory, violent behaviour."
Francis was recognised for working as station master in Aberdour, Fife
Francis' name came up during the probe into Murphy in the 1990s, but it was only when one brave victim came forward in 2014 that police were able to build a case against him.
They visited ex-residents, who spoke of his abuse.
Three girls – aged 14 to 16 at the time – told Francis’s four-day trial that he would creep into the girls’ dormitory at the home in the night and sexually assault them.
One said he touched her on the chest under her bedsheets. Another said he touched her genitals under her covers.
A male resident told how he once ran away but was picked up by police and taken back. Francis attacked him in a laundry room as punishment.
Francis told jurors he had a good relationship with the kids at the home.
Francis was awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace
He said: “They wanted me to watch Top of the Pops with them every week. It helped me relate to the kids and know about acts like Gary Glitter at the time.
''I suppose that’s the wrong name to use today, though.”
Jurors found Francis guilty of two offences of using lewd, indecent and libidinous behaviour towards young girls and three assaults. A lewd and libidinous charge and three assaults were not proven.
Sheriff Alastair Brown deferred sentence until next month for background reports and released Francis on bail.
He said: “A prison sentence is a serious possibility.”
Murphy was jailed for 15 years in 2002 after admitting 30 sex abuse charges over 30 years at St Margaret’s and another home.

Two Fraudsters Busted at Their Shrine in Ogun State (Photos)

Some fraudsters have been apprehended by vigilant policemen in the Ogun State area, South-western part of Nigeria.

The two suspects in question
Operatives of the Zonal Intervention Squad (ZIS), while on routine Patrol along Owode Obafemi Ofada Road Ogun State on March 27, 2017, at about 10pm, discovered a sienna bus packed in a suspicious manner, the operatives accosted the occupants, and upon inquiry discovered that the occupants are suspected fraudsters whose modus operandi was to lure people into a shrine and dupe them of their hard earned money.
Upon further investigation it was discovered that the suspected fraudsters, Olayinka Adeola and Ibrahim Balogun had lured their victim, a 64 year old nurse named Goodluck Ogbodu of Effa Street, Ughelli Delta State to Lagos state in order to make him rich.
The suspects had obtained a sum of One hundred and fifty thousand naira (N150,000) from the victim. The loot was recovered from the shrine. The suspects who have confessed to the crime also stated that they have used the same mode to dupe many unsuspected victims.

Medical Doctor Arrested with Fake ABU Certificate

Another fake medical doctor has been arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State, a top government official has said.
Dr Sola Adebiyi, Director, Hospital Services, Ogun State Ministry of Health, told newsmen on Friday in Abeokuta that one Sunday Adeyeye was the sixth quack doctor  to be nabbed in the state.
She added that Adeyeye had been practising with a forged certificate obtained from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State.
The director said that the culprit was arrested during the ongoing re-validation exercise of health facilities across the state.
Adebiyi added that the arrest was made easier as the culprit unknowingly walked into his own doom at the re-validation venue at the ministry.
The director said that the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Babatunde Ipaye, had made it mandatory for all private health facilities across the state to be re-validated and re-registered following incessant loss of lives by quacks.
According to Adebiyi, the owner of the facility who unknowingly engaged the doctor, brought him for the re-validation of his hospital, where his fake certificate was discovered.
“We were suspicious when the owner of Ganny-Hash Clinic and Maternity Hospital in Ifo, Mr Ganiyu Okewole, presented the said fake Dr Sunday Adeyeye’s certificate for re-validation of his facility.
“We then asked him to bring the doctor in person which is one of our requirements for the exercise.
“Going through the Ahmadu Bello University certificate he presented and comparing it with the ministry’s records, there we discovered he has been practicing with a forged certificate and we immediately called in the police to effect his arrest,’’ Adebiyi said.
Responding to questions from newsmen, Adeyeye said he was not a doctor, that the ABU certificate was forged in his name in Zaria, adding that he has been working with the hospital since February 2017.
Also speaking the proprietor of the affected clinic, Mr Ganiyu Okewole, said he was unaware of the doctor’s case.
He said if he had not brought him for re-validation, he would not have known.
NAN also reports that revalidation exercise started in January 2016.
The task force has shut down 168 private health facilities since the commencement of the exercise in the state.

God Told Me About Apostle Suleiman’s Alleged Sex Scandal Via Multiple Revelations Before It Happened, All The Allegations Are Not True And God Is Backing Him Up, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Says

For few weeks now, there have been accusations and counter accusations against Apostle Johnson Suleiman, which centered on infidelity and squandering of his church funds on Nigerian actresses and some other lady known as, Stephanie Otobo.
However, in an exclusive interview with Goldenpearlmedia, the Founder and General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin has said that Suleiman is innocent.
He added that before the scandal hit his colleague, God already told him about it via multiple revelations.
Fufeyin made this known when he spoke about a forthcoming programme in May when he will be hosting top South African Cleric, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.
Excerpts below….
We learnt of a forthcoming programe in Mercyland. What is it all about?
First of all, a day like this is a great day. We look unto God. The bible says that with God all things are possible. Prophet Shepherd Bushiri would be coming to Mercy City in May.
He is a friend in the vineyard of God. And he had been with us when I was coming up. He started with me and commissioned Mercy City you have seen and heard. He came last here three years ago. I have even visited him and it is now time for him to come to Nigeria again.
What should we expect?
It is not going to be any different from what it has been because we are both called to work in one body of Christ in order to win souls for God. We are going to win souls for God. The people that are in captivity would be set free through the name Jesus Christ. The programme is between May 4 and 8.
What about the annual programme for women seeking for fruit of the womb, ‘I Must Carry My Samuel’?
We just finished the programme. It was for three days. Many people from all over the world trooped in and even that time when the programme was going on, pregnant women were given births and we were also giving them free baby gifts and cash of N50,000 as we usually do.
Do you know how many women gave birth?
I cannot remember exactly how many of them gave birth but about 380 of them gave birth the last time the programme held.
What is your comment about the way the country is right now?
We only need prayers in this country. As I said earlier, with God all things are possible. Nigeria really needs prayer and we have been praying and I believe that God will help us.
All these things that are happening right now are for people to know that the power of God is real and great. We pastors, bishops, prophets etc, are praying to see that peace will reign in this country. I promise you that peace will come in Nigeria.
You said sometimes ago that peace will come if men of God come together and pray. Has it been done already?
There was a time I said if pastors come together and pray all these problems bedeviling this country will disappear. I told you that boko haram will go down and we prayed. Boko haram is gradually fizzling out. Now, the same prayers that we are going to pray will bring peace in Nigeria. Though, all pastors cannot come together because devil is creating confusion in the body of Christ. I told you the other time that politics of nowadays APC and PDP is playing out in the church. Church politics is greater than APC and PDP. If not, just one week we all come together and pray, everything will settle. Devil knows the secret of Christians to cause confusion in the body of Christ. That is what is happening in Christendom today.
What do you make of the challenges Apostle Suleiman is going through?
Jesus told his followers that whatever thing that he is passing through, his followers will also pass through same situation. They called Jesus our father names. Some said He was using Beelzebub spirit to cast out demons. It is not today that all these things started. These things started in the days of old. It is one of those things. If we are followers of Christ, these things must surely come to us. Not only him but every Christian that is growing; you would have to prepare for these things.

It is getting worse by the day, a lot of people are coming out with different stories and evidences?
I will still tell you that those allegations are not true. A man of God is a man of God. Though there are stories coming from different places. Till tomorrow I will still say that it is not true. God is still backing him up. But did you hear the one that the mother went to his church to plead for forgiveness? The body of Christ is one. This is a battle between Satan and God. Any Christian that doesn’t know this thing should go and learn more. We have to pray and fast for our Apostle.
Have you spoken with him one on one ever since these things started?
Yes. I met him today when we boarded the same flight from Benin to Lagos. I encouraged him. He is not even bothered. I asked him how he feels with this kind of persecution. He said that these things must follow us because we are people that are working in the body of Christ. As far as you are coming up and you are destroying the kingdom of satan through the name, Jesus Christ.
I saw this persecution and I told people that such a thing is coming last year December cross over. I said this thing is coming up and we have to be prayerful. Like my own case, there was an accident. I sent my boys to my village to encourage secondary school students for inter house sports two weeks ago. They went with my Hillux vehicle and on their way back, the vehicle somersaulted thrice and it was raining but glory be to God that nobody was injured.
Now, if something bad had happened to them, I would have been called names. People would say I sent them to my village, Ojobo to use them to get more power or worse things because of the rapid growth of the ministry. If you are a man of God and in the body of Christ you have to pray for other men of God who are victims of situations as this.
What has happened to the pool of Bethesda, is it now functioning?
The contractors are the problem. They have never met up with the target. I have spent a lot. But regardless of so much money that have been spent, it is almost done.
You spoke about the prediction that some pastors will go through persecution, can you throw more light on it?
Yes, I said scandals are coming that we should pray. I have even told my church to pray for me and I know God is in control. I said it will happen, and everybody will hear it but God is in control. That is what I told them. It is a scandal. I told them that. You can watch it. It is there. I said it in November, December and Cross over. After the Sunday I said it, on Monday, they accuse Suleman.
Did you tell Apostle Suleiman about the prediction?
I did not at that time, it was only now that we met that I told him. When the thing started I did not because many atimes, we don’t talk every second, every hour. We are always busy. Also, it is not everything you see that you talk about. We Apostles, prophets and pastors cancel them ourselves.
Have you finally decided to hold a crusade in Lagos?
I held a meeting early last month with the partners of Mercy television. We discussed. They are ready more than I do. Lagos is big. It’s a country on its own. If you don’t prepare to enter this place, you will not see any soul to win. I promise it will be in December. No date yet.
What are your thoughts about Donald Trump’s presidency?
Anything about politics is prayer back up. Once you pray, God can correct anything that is going wrong. We flesh and blood make mistakes and we do correct ourselves. We are not perfect, it is only God that is perfect.
Based on what is happened to Apostle Suleman, what have you learnt from it? How have you been able to guild your own territory to avoid such situation?
The experience and what I have learnt from it is the same. We cannot dodge it. No man of God can dodge it except you are not called. Look at the histories of great men of God in Nigeria, you must hear these stories. It is by prayer and God’s mercy. As you are growing, you should prepare yourself for that. Anything can happen. That is why I advise our colleagues in the vineyard of God to pray for our other colleagues. I have read about many of these men of God. They have been accused of different things. Those things are from the kingdom of darkness. We live by God’s grace.
Should apostle Suleiman forgive Stephanie Otobo?
I told him and he said that he is a human being that if God can forgive, then who is he not to.
That is what I told my people one day that it is not by deliverance that this Stephanie needs to go through. It is by going to the man of God to plead for forgiveness before any man of God will now pray for her and everything will go well.

NDLEA Arrests 57-Year-Old Man With Cocaine In His Boxer Shorts And Luggage

Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos have discovered cocaine hidden inside the boxer shorts and luggage of a passenger.
Two suspected drug traffickers, jewellery and auto parts dealers have been apprehended in connection with unlawful importation of narcotics.
The suspects according to the Agency are Okonkwo Godwin, 57, an importer of jewellery found with cocaine in his boxer shorts and Nnaemeka David Chinedu, 37, an auto parts dealer who ingested 94 wraps of heroin.
This is one of the largest quantities of drugs ingested by a suspect at the Lagos airport lately.
NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba said that the suspects arrived from Brazil and Uganda with cocaine and heroin respectively.
“Two suspected drug traffickers are currently being interrogated for illegally importing narcotics into the country. Okonkwo Godwin was caught with one wrap of cocaine in his boxer shorts and another inside his bag all weighing 750 grammes.
He was arrested during the inward screening of passengers on a South African Airline flight from Brazil while Nnaemeka David Chinedu was arrested for ingesting ninety-four wraps of heroin weighing 1.595kg during the screening of passengers on Rwand Airline from Uganda” Ahmadu stated.
The 57 year old suspect, Okonkwo Godwin who hid a parcel of cocaine in his boxer shorts told narcotic investigators that he smuggled drugs because of his numerous financial problems.
“I am married with two children but I am in a terrible financial crisis. I used to import jewellery for sale at Trade Fair complex in Lagos and Onitsha main market. Things have changed so drastically that l even finds it difficult to feed my family.
This was what led me into drug trafficking. l was given two wraps of cocaine; one was hidden in my boxer shorts while the other was in my luggage. The agreement was for me to sell the drug and share the proceeds with my partner in Brazil,” Okonkwo stated.
Nnaemeka David Chinedu said that he swallowed 94 wraps of heroin for 450,000 naira out of desperation.
“I ingested drugs for N450, 000 naira because l was desperate. This is my first time of smuggling drugs. I have been selling auto parts in Lagos for the past 15 years but l must admit that things are very rough with me financially. I was paid to smuggle drugs from Uganda to make ends meet,” Nnaemeka explained.
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd.) said that the Agency will continue to disappoint the plans of drug traffickers who wish to make money from drug trafficking.
In his words, “NDLEA is working very hard to intercept drugs at all entry points and also arrest every trafficker.
“Those who intend to enrich themselves with proceeds of drugs will end up in detention. The arrests so far made validate our resolve to address the problem of drug trafficking in the country”.
The suspects will soon be charged to court. -TheNation

3 Nigerian nationals arrested in India for online job and matrimonial fraud

Rachakonda police’s cyber cell from Bengaluru on Monday, March 27, arrested three Nigerian nationals for committing online job fraud and matrimonial scam.
The accused, identified as Emeka Santos, Chika Mitchille and Noah Simisola were also found to be living illegally in India as they had come to the country with a two-month visa in 2011, which was not renewed post its expiry.

"Post-demonetisation, the gang started tricking citizens of other countries online," said Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat at a press conference on Monday.
He added that the trio had tricked a man into believing them that he had been selected for a job in the US and made him deposit money into various bank accounts on the pretext of paying visa charges, processing fee etc.
After the complainant and his wife realised that they were cheated, they lodged a complaint, following which the three accused were arrested.

The Rachakonda police recovered eight laptops, 17 mobile phones, two external hard drives, five data cards and other incriminating materials from their possession.
Mr. Bhagwat said that the accused had cheated people in matrimonial frauds, charity scams and through fake advertisements of e-commerce portals.

Santos, Mitchille and Simisola had also cheated people from Bulgaria, Indonesia, Germany, Brazil, Peru and Morocco.

I Order Phones Online, Send My Boys To Rob Delivery Man –Gang Boss Arrested By RRS

On March 7, 2017, members of a notorious gang, which specialise in robbing couriers of online trading stores, shot at an operative of the Rapid Response Squad, Sgt. Garba Kadiri, while attempting to evade arrest at Pretty Street, Iyana School, LASU – Iyana Road.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that through the reports of victims of the gang,  the RRS had tracked down the gang but they shot at the officers before they could be arrested. But on Wednesday, after days of tracking the suspects, operatives of the squad, apprehended four suspects.

The suspects, Wilfred Ehis (30); Bright Eloho (24), Emeka Egbemedu (22) and Olanrewaju Kamilu (33) were arrested at Olamulti Hotel, New Site, Iba, Ojo, Lagos. The leader of the gang, Ehis, claimed to be a Chemical Engineering graduate of University of Benin, Ekpoma, Edo State.

During his interrogation, he told the RRS, “I operate by placing orders online for expensive phones and goods. I request the sellers to make home delivery.

“I would give the seller an address where I know the robbery can be carried out successfully. When I have made the necessary arrangements, I would then call my boys to go to the delivery address and rob the delivery man.

“I didn’t follow them to the robbery scene. It is Nurudeen, alias ‘Onyeabo’ who oversaw the robberies. I know he has a locally made pistol. I am also aware he recruited other boys to join him in the robbery.”

“I always stayed behind in hotels. After the robbery, they sold off the phones and gave me my share of the deal.”

Saturday PUNCH learnt that Nurudeen is still in hiding.

Ehis said the suspect has gone underground since the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad picked up one of his friends last year.

“He sneaks into Lagos mostly at night through the creeks from Ogun State,” he said.

The police believe Ehis has several separate gangs who handle his different operations.

He is also suspected of being involved internet fraud and ATM robbery.

The source added that, Ehis before his arrest stood at different ATM points in Igando, Ojo, Alaba and Apapa to monitor ATM users, who withdrew money. He then alerted his gangs, who usually used motorcycles to trail and rob their victims.

After his arrest, about five victims of the gang from the Computer Village in Ikeja, besieged the RRS headquarters at Alausa, Lagos to give information about how they were robbed.

Two of such victims who came forward on Thursday were Oluwaseyi Sunday and Alabede Habib.

Both of them in separate statement stated that Wilfred Ehis, who pretended to be “Barrister Deji”had sometime in February 2017 requested that expensive phones be delivered to him on two different addresses along the LASU– Iyana Iba Expressway.

The victims were later robbed by three of Ehis’s gang members operating on motorcycles at the delivery addresses

The sellers claimed they lost N800,000 and N450,000 to the robbery.

Items recovered from Ehis when he was arrested were mobile phones such as Tecno, LG 3, iPhone, two wristwatches, a Canon camera EO87D, necklace, Sony laptop, a wrap of Indian hemp and an ash-coloured Altima salon car.
