BUHARI, HIS GOONS, AND THEIR FAILURE TO HALT PROBLEMS CONFRONTING US

Image result for buhari in mecca

Buhari is an embodiment of failure when it comes to Nigeria presidency. Any Nigerian expecting positive change from him in the next four years needs to check him/herself into the nearest hospital. This is the fact. It is starring at us;

Fact one -  No single achievement in his first term that impact the general masses except massive killing and properties destruction across the land.

Fact two - Majority of his appointed goons are failures like him.  It will no change in the next four years because they are working with a leader who is operating intellectually and physically at minus zero level.  He has appointed another set of failed and corrupt politicians.

This is a guy that rode to power on fake achievements and yet did not know what to do with it because he has no visible track records initiated by him. Yes read me well, all his past fake and propaganda so called achievements was actually done by other people working with him especially during his brutal regime of military rule between 1983 and 1984.

The credit on the little success of his military era should go to Idiagbon. If you recollect, it was Idiagbon those coup plotters that overthrow them tricked to Mecca for the coup to succeed.

This single act and his last four years of reckless and poor handling of the country are enough to labelled him dullard and failure.

Some of us that supported him in 2015 did not read in between the lines for us to decode this earlier.

Fast forward to 2015 , he took over power enjoying lot of confidence from Nigerians that lasted less than two months. Yet he wrecked their hope and turn it to hopelessness with wanton killings and properties destruction going in the land since 2015 coupled with the corrupt, weak and lazy ministers he appointed the same year.

The most wicked part of the killings of innocent citizens comes from his companion called Fulani herdsmen, Tactically and technically he is supporting them with all sorts of body language and systemic method. You dare not report them at the police station according to reliable source in Ondo state, the security men will tell you is beyond them you need to go to Abuja.

Your president is tribalism in nature  and religious fanatic . Pure and simple.
The entire country is now enveloped with insecurity with kidnapping, killings topping the chart.

Instead of him to be up and running, he and his goons ( politicians and security) are throwing flimsy and contradicting excuses every now and then because they can not give what they don't have.

Blame game !!!

If they are not busy fighting opposition (Atiku) and others, they will be busy arresting lawful protesters like Sowore or yahoo boys.
Their inability to to solve or fix any of these problems resulted in this protest tagged #Revolutionnow organised by Sowore.

Herdsman tyrant is now occupying the seat of power.

These problems include insecurity, power failure, unimplemented labour salaries of N30K, ASUU crisis, unemployment, pensions, bad roads, poor medical facilities, just to mention a few.

His so called integrity has finally fallen like a pack of cards when Goje stepped down for Lawal for post of senate president. Lot of horse trading was done, anti-corruption fight was compromised. Besides many corrupt politicians from PDP in their camp now are saints.

Therefore your president is now a symbol of corruption. Any further anti-corruption fight going on is fake.
Let him just release all political prisoners and stop disobeying court orders.

It is sad that Buhari will waste another good four years in the life of our country.   Finally lets begin count down on his second term and refresh our hope come year 2022.

Church security guard, teenagers allegedly steal N2.7m from MFM offering box

The police on Monday arraigned two men and a minor in a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N2.7million from a church’s offering box.

The suspects, Osita Egbo; 32, Joel Okafor; 18, and a minor, were charged with two counts of conspiracy and stealing, to which they pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye told the court that the defendants committed the offence at midnight on July 2 at the Mountain of Fire Ministry church, (MFM), Onike area of Yaba, Lagos.

Olaluwoye said Egbo was a night security guard at the church while the two teenagers were members of the church.

The prosecution alleged that they stole from the church offering boxes three times in the last one month with a fourth accomplice, but were never caught.

Olaluwoye said that a fourth accomplice, another minor, confessed to the crime after he felt cheated by the defendants.

He said that the defendants stole a total of N2.7million from the church’s offering box.

The offence, he said, contravened provisions of Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 287 stipulates a three-year jail term for stealing while Section 411 provides for two years in prison for conspiracy.

Chief Magistrate Oluwatoyin Oghere admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N1million each with two sureties each in like sum.

Oghere ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and have evidence of three years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the case until Sept. 25 for mention.

Falana on Sowore: Buhari’s govt tagging any critic a terrorist

Falana on Sowore: Buhari’s govt tagging any critic a terrorist
Femi Falana, human rights lawyer, has accused the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari of tagging anyone who criticises its actions and policies a terrorist.

The senior advocate of Nigeria said the current administration has developed the culture of using the terrorism prevention (amendment) act to clamp down on anyone or group with opposing views.

Falana said this while reacting to the arrest of Omoyele Sowore, convener of the ‘RevolutionNow’ movement, by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Sowore, a former presidential candidate, was arrested after spearheading the movement which is calling for nationwide protest against “bad governance” in Nigeria.

The police accused the movement of treason and terorrism, and said they were plotting a “regime change”.

But in a statement, Falana said the movement or Sowore did not contravene the terrorism act in any way.

“However, it is worrisome that the Buhari administration has decided to extend the ambit of the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act to cover individuals and organisations that are crititical of official policies or perceived marginalisation within the federation,” he said.

“Thus, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was proscribed as a terrorist body in 2017 for agitating for the secession of the Republic of Biafra from Nigeria while the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) was proscribed last week for organising rallies to compel the federal government to comply with a court order by releasing the Shia leader, Sheikh Ibraheem Elzakzaky and his wife from custody.

“If this trend of accusing every person of engaging in terrorist activities or treasonable felony for criticising the Buhari administration continues the Nigeria Police Force and the State Security Service will soon turn Nigeria into a country of terrorists.”

The senior lawyer said it is high time the federal government restrained the security agencies from “further exposing Nigeria to ridicule in the comity of civilized nations.”

He said the police have capitalized on the use of the word “revolution” to criminalise the protests, wondering why it did not extend the same gesture to leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) “for claiming to have carried out Ngeria’s democratic revolution which terminated the 16-year rule of the PDP in 2015?”

“Did all Nigerian senators led by APC members not commit treason or terrorism when they spent one and a half hours on May 14, 2019 to debate Senator Chukwuka Utazi’s timely motion on “Bridging the gap between the haves and have-not to nip in the bud the seeds of a looming violent revolution?” he asked.

“The State Security Service should release Mr. Omoyele Sowore, one of the conveners of the protests. In the alternative, he should be arraigned in court if there is reasonable suspicion that he has contravened any penal statute.

“However, the nation’s security agencies should stop embarrassing President Buhari who had cause, from 2003-2014, to lead peaceful rallies to protest election malpractice and insecurity in the country.”

Rights group demands release of Sowore, speaks on RevolutionNow protest

A human rights group, the Centre for the Vulnerable and Underprivileged, CENTREP, on Monday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately release Omoyele Sowore from the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

The group however condemned Sowore’s call for a revolution against the Buhari-led Federal Government.

This is coming as the planned revolution protest which was expected to take place nationwide on August 5, failed to hold in Warri and its environs and in other places in Delta State.

CENTREP Executive Director, Mr. Oghenejabor Ikimi Esq said he is calling for the release of Sowore because Buhari himself had called for a revolution in 2011 through his Aide, Mr. Odumakin.

The legal practitioner said, “On that basis, his Government should release Omoyele immediately. However, I am not in support of a revolution in this Country.

“If a revolution starts now, those who called for it will fly out of the Country and it is the poor masses that will suffer the brunt of violent change of Government.”

Ikimi said Section 39 Subsection 31 gives every citizens the right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, stressing that the constitution does not recognise revolution.

He also added that Section 45 Subsection 1 of the Constitution said the State can withdraw the rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly of any citizen if there’s a threat to defence, security, public peace, morality and public order.

While noting that a revolution is not needed at the moment in the Country, Ikimi said, “Omoyele should keep his revolution till 2023 and express it through the ballot box.”

Ikimi pointed out that people are still suffering the consequences of Arab spring.

“In Libya, there is no peace. In Egypt, the Muslim brotherhood took over and the President is Sissi. The Army still rule Egypt till tomorrow. There is no peace in Sudan as a result of the protest match which saw the removal of Umar Al Bashir,” he said.

Ikimi warned that those supporting Omoyele’s call for a revolution should be careful, stressing that “Wole Soyinka will fly out of the Country if the revolution starts. Come through the ballot box.”

RevolutionNow protest: You’re allergic to criticisms – Ozekhome blasts Buhari over Sowore’s arrest

Human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome SAN, has berated President Muhammadu Buhari over the arrest of the 2019 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, by the Department of State Services, DSS.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Ozekhome said the arrest of Sowore indicated that Buhari was “allergic to plurality of voices and his government is allergic to criticism”.

According to Ozekhome: “Dancing on the street saying we don’t want bad governance how does that amount to a treasonable felony?

“This government is allergic to plurality of voices, this government is allergic to criticism, this government is allergic to opinions. This government should know that Nigeria is a country with many colours.

“You cannot sample opinions. We cannot all sleep on the same bed. This government should learn to be tolerant.

“That allegation is most plural, most damning and most illogical from the government or security spokespersons.

“What is treason? For the definition of treason, you have to look at Sections 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42 and 43 of the Criminal Code which applies in the Southern part of Nigeria.

“Then you must look at Section 410 of the Penal Code that applies in the Northern part of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Treason is the act of overthrowing the sovereign government of a state.”

DSS operatives had arrested Sowore after he called for a ‘RevolutionNow’ protest.

Sowore had called for a nationwide protest against what he described as a bad governance.

Following the activist’s arrest, the Nigeria Police Force described the planned protests by Sowore and some individuals as ‘treasonable felony and acts of terrorism’.

Pep Guardiola left out Riyad Mahrez over drug concern

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has revealed that he decided to leave Riyad Mahrez out of City’s Community Shield squad due to concerns he may fail drug test.

Guardiola disclosed that the Algeria winger told him he wanted to be part of the match at Wembley immediately after winning the AFCON tournament.

Mahrez returned to training on Friday but Guardiola and City didn’t want to be at risk of anti-doping rules after medical staff were unable to determine the ingredients of medication he had taken during his time on international duty.

Guardiola said after the victory: “Riyad called me straight after being champion and said he wants to be back against Liverpool, I said he was more than welcome.

“But Riyad took some medicine just a little bit, but we don’t know what he took and therefore doping control today was a risk because the doctors did not know what was in the medicine.

“So that’s why he did not play today.

“He could have played some minutes, but we could not take a risk because the doctors didn’t have the medicines.

“Hopefully at West Ham, he will be fine.”

Manchester City secure the club’s first piece of silverware of the season at Wembley after defeating Jurgen Klopp’s side on penalties following a 1-1 scoreline at fulltime.

UK jails 3 Nigerians for laundering £1m to Black Axe leader in Nigeria

Three Nigerian siblings who were working directly for the leader of the Nigerian Black Axe gang, Augustus Bemigho-Eyeoyibo, have been jailed for a total of 16 years after laundering nearly £1m to him in Nigeria through UK bank accounts.

Crown Prosecution Service reported on its website that Okemiorukaye Nakpodia, 56, was found guilty of conspiracy to money launder at Woolwich Crown Court on 8 May. Esther Nakpodia, 35, Unuakpotovo Nakpodia, 46, both pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.

They laundered the proceeds of hundreds of frauds between 2007 and 2015.

Police identified 174 suspicious transactions entering bank accounts. Money from a number of the victims of the original frauds ended up in the defendants’ bank accounts and was then laundered by the Nakpodias.

Augustus Bemigho-Eyeoyibo, is the brother-in-law of the three defendants. Black Axe is a banned organisation in Nigeria and has been linked to decades of murders, rapes, extortion and drug dealing in Nigeria and across the world, with members allegedly swearing a ‘blood oath’ to join.

Philip Slough, for the CPS, said: “We were able to show the Nakpodias were talking to Augustus Bemigho-Eyeoyibo, the leader of Black Axe, based on conversations found on their devices. They talked about the amounts, and what to do with the funds after they arrived, including how much to keep for themselves.

“This strong evidence confirmed that the Nakpodias had been actively involved for a number of years in a conspiracy to launder money which had been stolen by others using phone and email scams.

“This prosecution will play a role in starving a dangerous criminal gang of funds and we will seek to recover their proceeds of crime at a later hearing.”

Today at Woolwich Crown Court Unuakpotovo Nakpodia has been jailed for seven years and seven months, Okemiorukaye Nakpodia has been jailed for six years and six months, while Esther Nakpodia has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison.

Building the case
Philip Slough, for the CPS, said: “Esther Nakpodia claimed to have never heard of Black Axe, denying links to the organisation – this despite the fact her sister has been married to the group’s leader for 14 years.

“She denied knowing that Augustus Bemigho-Eyeoyibo is involved in gang activity, and said she believed he was a reputable business man. She accepted being in possession of £28,000 when arrested – this was money withdrawn from her bank account and was taking it with her to Nigeria to give to her sister and brother-in-law in person. A number of incriminating text messages were found on her mobile phone seized from her upon arrest, revealing her deep involvement in the laundering of these funds.

“Unuakpotovo Nakpodia admitted opening and controlling numerous bank accounts – between January 2007 and February 2015, she received over £700,000 of suspicious payments from between 65 and 70 unconnected parties in 16 different countries. Unuakpotovo also denied being part of a conspiracy to money launder the proceeds of crime.

“Okemiorukaye Nakpodia accepted all transactions relating to the bank accounts attributed to him – he received nearly £50,000 of direct suspicious payments from eight unconnected third parties in three different countries. He claimed not know the source of these transfers.”

Biafra: Chimamanda Adichie says Nigeria unfair to Igbo

Nigeria’s world famous author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie said the Igbo have been treated unfairly by the rest of Nigeria, especially after the war, 49 years ago and therefore recommended the setting up of a truth and reconciliation committee.

Nigeria set up a body akin to the truth commission in 1999, headed by Justice Chukwudifu Oputa. It was called The Human Rights Violation Investigation Commission of Nigeria. But 16 years after it submitted its report, the recommendations have not been published.

Chimamanda made her recommendation today after she planted a tree at the Nelson Mandela Garden in Asaba, capital of Delta state. She was the guest of Dr. Newton Jibunoh, Nigeria’s famous environmentalist, who has the distinction of traversing the Sahara Desert.

The novelist and feminist campaigner, whose second novel, her second novel, Half of a Yellow Sun (2006), took its title from the flag of the short-lived Biafra, said 50 years after the civil war ended, the Igbo have not been treated well by Nigeria.

“I think we should have a sort of Truth and Reconciliation Committee in this country, not just to address Biafra, which should be a central part of it, because it is impossible to understand Nigeria without understanding her history from around 1965 to 1970.”

“For Nigeria to thrive as a nation, we have to acknowledge the truth. In Asaba for instance, brutal massacres happened during the war and not yet acknowledged and so a lot still needs to be done. Let us just air our history, sometimes all people need to hear is sorry.

“There are houses in Port Harcourt today that were named abandoned properties and were illegally taken from their owners. There were people who lost everything they owned and just given a tiny amount to start all over. That is injustice that has not been addressed,” she said.

“Acknowledging our history does not mean we will have to divide Nigeria AND dissent does not mean treason.”

Nelson Mandela, after whom the garden was named set up a truth and reconciliation commission in post apartheid South Africa.

To Chimamanda, Nigeria cannot hope to make much progress without redressing injustice and embracing the truth and history.

HERDSMAN TYRANT !! Throwback: President Buhari called for revolution in 2011

Image result for buhari and abacha
In 2011, General Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), called for a revolution in Nigeria — albeit through the ballot box.

Via a statement by Yinka Odumakin, his spokesman at the time who has now turned to one of his fiercest critics, Buhari asked Nigerians to make exceptional sacrifices to assert their collective will in the country.

“The Egyptian pro-democracy campaigners defied all odds to achieve their set goal of terminating the 30-year old grip on power by Mubarak. Their tenacity has again confirmed the truism that no force on earth can stop a people determined,” he said.

This was not the first time the president called for mass action — he did the same in 2003, after losing the presidential election to incumbent Olusegun Obasanjo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In June 2003, supporters of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and Buhari, began a mass protest against the outcome of the April 19, 2003 presidential election in Abuja.

The protesters were reported to have massed at the Court of Appeal, venue of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to witness the proceeding.

They would later spill over to the streets where they chanted anti-government slogans against the Olusegun Obasanjo government.

A REPEAT IN 2011?

In the same statement calling for a revolution in 2011, Buhari commended the Egyptian military for refusing to attack “the forces of change”.

“The military in Egypt showed exemplary conduct with the way they refused to be used to attack the forces of change,” Buhari was quoted to have said.

“They showed the whole world that there is a clear difference between the state and those who temporarily occupy political offices for a fixed tenure. This is a lesson for our security agents who have been used to subvert the will of the people at elections in recent past.

“The time has come for our own security forces to demonstrate similar valour by putting national interest above that of individuals when there is a clash between the two.

“Unlike the Egyptians who went through self-denial for 18 unbroken days to achieve their aspiration for leadership change, Nigerians just have to take their voter cards, vote on each election day and ensure that their votes count and are properly counted.

“It is time to demonstrate people’s power to free our country from those who have held it hostage for the last 12 years and are threatening to keep it so for 60 years.”

BUHARI COMMENDS EGYPT’S REVOLUTIONARIES

The CPC flag bearer commended the revolutionaries in Egypt, asking Nigerians to emulate them and support themselves regardless of religious divides.

“More importantly Nigerians have to learn from the way faiths integrated to achieve national aspiration. Christians formed rings round Muslims as they observed their Jumat prayers during the demonstrations,” Buhari said.

“For us as a people, we need to also move from balance of hate to balance of faith as the Egyptians practically demonstrated on the field of battle for change.

“Rather than allow ourselves to be divided by our faiths, we must emphasise what binds us together and areas where the shoe pinches us collectively as people with common humanity. With all sense of modesty, this is part of what the Buhari-Bakare candidacy represents.”

LOVE EGYPTIANS REVOLUTIONARIES, ARREST NIGERIA’S?

Buhari, who would later win the 2015 and 2019 presidential elections, has formed a government, which has remained hostile to revolutionaries and civil disobedience — regardless of tribe and religious inclinations.

Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow, was arrested by the Department of State Services(DSS) for planning civil disobedience — once commended by Buhari.

The police have described the planned civil disobedience as treason and terrorism. In Buhari’s defence, his supporters claim Buhari only asked Nigerians to “draw the right lessons from the 18-day revolution which saw Hosni Mubarak quitting office after 30 years; and do the needful to effect a regime change in Nigeria at the April polls”.

Since winning elections in 2015, Buhari has asked Nigerians to stop addressing him as a general but simply as president — with his handlers stating he has become a reformed democrat.
