Paul (Gazza), 49, saw the pair from his balcony but when he went to confront them, one of the raiders allegedly punched him in the face.

The  former England player and ex-Tottenham  fell and injured his wrist.

Gazza was taken to hospital in an ambulance after being treated by paramedics.

A source said: “Without a second thought he intervened and stopped them breaking in.

“He got hit in the face then injured his wrist.

“The two men then scarpered pretty quickly.

“He was worried about his flat being empty so discharged himself out of hospital and went home pretty much straight away.

“He didn’t have to step in but he was real hero in doing so. But it really shook him up.”

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “We were called at 2.22am on Monday April 17 to reports of a burglary at an address in Poole.

“Police attended, however no offences were identified.”

Nigerian husband of Canadian woman accused of human smuggling arrested by U.S. Customs

Authorities in the United States say a Nigerian national, Victor Omoruyi, husband of Michelle Omoruyi and two Canadian citizens have been apprehended as part of an investigation into human smuggling.

Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection said yesterday, in a statement, their own agents apprehended the two Canadian citizens and Mr Omoruyi on the North Dakota side of the border between North Portal and Northgate. According to The National Post, Mr Omoruyi was being held Thursday at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.

On Wednesday, April 20, authorities announced that Michelle Omoruyi, 43, of Regina, was facing rare human smuggling charges after she was stopped by RCMP last Friday evening driving a vehicle near the border with nine foreign nationals from West Africa.

So far, authorities have released few details about how these individuals fell under suspicion and whether other arrests could follow. But a senior U.S. border official said Thursday the growing numbers of migrants seeking to jump the border has everyone on high alert.
“It’s on everybody’s radar,” said Alan Zeitvogel, acting division chief of operations for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Grand Forks, N.D.
The nine individuals had bypassed formal channels to come into the country, entering instead somewhere between the North Portal and Northgate crossings, the legal entry points into Saskatchewan from North Dakota. They subsequently filed refugee claims and were released from CBSA custody pending the outcome of their refugee hearings.

The following day, police searched a Regina residence and found a significant amount of cash — some in foreign currency, RCMP said.

During a four-month investigation, the Canada Border Services Agency “uncovered evidence to suggest suspected smugglers were allegedly bringing foreign nationals into Canada from the United States by facilitating their illegal crossing between designated ports of entry," Jason Evert, a CBSA assistant director, told reporters Wednesday.

The identities of the other two — a man and a woman — could not be verified, but Zeitvogel confirmed all three were still in custody and charges were pending.

It is not known how many other people may be connected to the suspected smuggling operation. The charges against Omoruyi have not been proven in court.

There are many reasons why migrants might pay a smuggler to help them get across the border, Zeitvogel said. Maybe it’s because of their knowledge of the area or because they can provide a means of transportation, he said.

In January, five Nigerians including three children were believed to be headed for Saskatchewan but became stranded in a North Dakota field near Portal in the bitter cold.  Burke County Sheriff Jeremy Grohs said they were suffering from frostbite and the onset of hypothermia. The youngest, about 15 months old, was flown to the hospital.

According to federal data, Saskatchewan saw only a handful of irregular border crossings from asylum seekers in the first three months of this year. Nationwide, the number of irregular crossings climbed from 315 in January, to 658 in February, to 887 in March.

Shocking ! Newborn baby boy pulled out alive from shallow grave three days after his mum buried him

This baby boy was miraculously saved from death after he was pulled out of a shallow grave where he was buried by his 25-year-old South African mother. The child had been in the grave for three days and was discovered after factory staff heard a cry and decided to investigate.

The incident occurred in the town of Paddock, in KwaZulu-Natal Province, eastern South Africa.  The baby's mother, who works in a factory, made a makeshift grave using sand and timber taken from the factory. After the baby was found days later by her co-workers, the mother confessed that she buried him because she was upset that her parents will be angry with her for having a second child.

Captain Gerald Mfeka confirmed the incident to journalists, saying: "They searched and found him hidden underneath some timber, covered in sand. On hearing the commotion, the mother confessed that the child was hers. Her explanation was that she was afraid of her parents.

"This was her second child, the elder one being four years old, and she felt her parents would not approve of another baby."

Goje, who was governor of Gombe from 2003-2011, was at the national assembly office working on the 2017 budget when federal police stormed his residence with over 40 officers.

“Our men were there for between four and five hours and they carried out a thorough search,” the source told The Cable.

She has been accused of hooking young ladies and included them in the “Yummy mummies” where she connected them with businessmen for money.

When confronted, Leila confirmed posing n*de but said the photograph could have been posted on WhatsApp group by her ex-boyfriend.

Her n*de photo which cannot be published because of the extreme nudity has generated buzz online.

“I remember posing for n*de photographs long back and I want to believe the photographs were posted by my ex-lover, it is obvious that he did it since I broke up with him,” said Leila.

“I am not insane to post n*de photographs on WhatsApp groups, handizi hure ini.

“I do not hook ladies for men as alleged, how can I do that? To gain what? Ivo vachibatirwa varume kuti imhuka here,” said Leila before adding this writer into the notorious Yummy Mummies group to be insulted by the ladies.

Some ladies who threatened the writer included Isheanesu Chirashi, Mellisa Makoma and Farai Matiringe who claimed to be Leila’s advisors. The ladies demanded evidence of the photograph posted and names of the ladies complaining about their men.

“I feel Leila’s behaviour is posing negative examples to many innocent girls of her age by posting nude photographs to men,” she said.

“She is making herself available for exploitation by men and I feel as a woman for us to progress, we need to watch what we do and how we present ourselves to others because that’s the only way we can be respected,” she added.

Shocking! Russia bans Jehovah’s Witnesses, labels them as "extremist

Russia’s Supreme Court on Thursday issued a ruling banning Jehovah's Witnesses after the justice ministry called on it to dissolve the “extremist organisation”.

Supreme Court judge Yury Ivanenko said Russia had decided to close down “the administrative centre of Jehovah’s Witnesses and the local organisations in its fold and turn their property over to the Russian Federation.”

The decision comes after the ministry said it had found signs of “extremist activity” within the organisation and requested that it be banned. What signs?

“They represent a threat to the rights of people, public order and public safety,” Russian news agencies quoted justice ministry representative Svetlana Borisova as saying.

AFP reports that the group which has 395 centres across Russia, has vowed to appeal the decision.

“I’m shocked,” Yaroslav Sivulsky, who represents the group’s administrative centre, told reporters.

I didn’t expect that this could be possible in modern Russia, where the constitution guarantees freedom of religious practice.”

Russia’s Jehovah Witnesses have had several run-ins with law enforcement in recent years.

In January, the chairman of the group’s branch in the town of Dzerzhinsk was fined for having distributed material that authorities deem extremist.

Buhari’s Absence At State Functions Worrisome – Fayose

Ekiti state Governor, in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti, on Thursday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, asked if the President was now governing the country by proxy.

He said, “Everyday, what we hear is ‘President said this’, ‘President said that’ without seeing the President in any official function and one is prompted to ask, where is the President? I saw the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal, on television responding to his suspension and what came to my mind was that there could actually be many Presidents operating in the Buhari’s Presidency.

“Perhaps, it is for this reason of a possible existence of governments within the government of Buhari that confusion pervades the polity – with the President himself writing a letter to the Senate to clear someone of wrongdoing and the same person is being suspended three months after on the basis of the same allegation.

“It is also for this reason that the President nominated Ibrahim Magu to the Senate for confirmation as the EFCC Chairman and the Department of State Services – an agency under the Presidency – wrote the Senate not to confirm him.”

“How could the Easter break that ended on Monday be responsible for the inability to hold FEC meeting on Wednesday? Definitely, there is more to this than meets the eye.

“It has, therefore, become necessary that Nigerians hear the voice of their President and see him physically, not through surrogates or the cabal operating behind the scene,” the governor said.

“Since his first and only media chat was held in December 2015, Nigerians have not had the opportunity of seeing their President address them directly and this is not the best approach to governance in a democracy,” he added.

Nigerians Wailers Condemn Illegal Rearrest & Detention Of Austin Okai by Gov Yahaya Bello

Image result for Usman Austin Okai

The attention of the Nigerian Wailers has been drawn to the unconstitutional rearrest and illegal detention of Mr Usman Austin Okai, a blogger and frontline critic of the Kogi state government on the orders of Governor Yahaya Bello.

Mr Austin Okai was arrested in Abuja by men of the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad on the 9th of April 2017 on fictitious petitions by some cronies of Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state. He was arraigned before a Kogi state magistrate court and granted bail but rearrested by the Police Anti-Robbery Squad in the court premises.

This is indeed a national shame that a supposed law enforcement agency like the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) can allow itself to be used to perpetrate such barbaric and belligerent act.
It is also a sad narrative that such a young man like Yahaya Bello who became governor in an usual circumstance could order the arrest of Austin Okai whose offense was the exercise of right to freedom of speech.

There has been different reports of indiscriminate arrests and detentions of activist across the country at both Federal and State levels controlled by the ruling All Progressive Party (APC).

These actions are absurd and very disheartening, totally unacceptable as it is a serious threat to our democracy. Nigerians should not be arrested for criticizing and holding the government accountable, every citizen reserves the right to constructively criticize the government in a democratic dispensation like Nigeria.

The Nigerian Wailers hereby demand the immediate and unconditional release of Mr Usman Austin Okai from illegal detention for as long as the Nigerian constitution guarantees the freedom of speech we call on Gov Yahaya Bello and the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad to release Austin Okai. Injustice to one is injustice to all.

Photos : How Father Brutalize His Daughter For Watching TV In A Neighbor's House

As  narrated by Olagunju Adekunle:
God, I can't just believe this in my life, I was driving to the office this morning and I've a reasons to make a call and before I know, I was out of call card, as I alighted from my car to get a recharge card, I sighted this small girl (Esther by name) who was beaten mercilessly by her own father.
Please where are the human right, who can be of assistance to help this girl out from her heartless father? I was so fortunate to interrogate her mother who told me that the girl went to the next neighbour's room just to watch TV.
I took the girl to a police station on our way getting there, the girl and her mother was redirected to the nearby police station which is very closer to their house.
I called her father and I questioned him the reasons why he battered the little girl so mercilessly and his respond was very dishearten. He even promised and threatened to beat his wife when he returns from work.
Good people of Nigeria, kindly give helping hands as regard to this case, before it gets too late.

Big Boutique Offers Unemployed Father of 5 Babies a Job

Imudia Uduehi recently became father of quintuplets after his wife, Oluwakemi Uduehi, delivered five babies at the National Hospital in Abuja on April 12, 2017.

Following the delivery, Mr. Uduehi pleaded with good Nigerians to offer him assistance or help him secure a job to cater for his new babies.

He had told NAN that, “I am delighted and I thank God to have blessed us with these healthy children, I know it is a huge responsibility because it is not easy to raise even one child.

”I am, however, appealing to the government, well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations to come and support my family in raising the children. I want everyone to see these children not just as a blessing to us but also a blessing to the entire nation."

Touched by the story, MD of Twice As Nice boutique, Mr Waheed Shonibare offered Mr. Uduehi an employment opportunity in his fashion store.

Meanwhile, there is no response from Imudia Uduehi yet.

I think what this man needs is either money to start a business or a federal government job where he would be entitled to leave and regular pay. But then, half bread is better than nothing.

SGF, Babachir Lawal gone for good – Sagay

Suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal is gone for good. He is no longer a part of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

This was the declaration of Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof Itse Sagay (SAN) while reacting to Lawal’s suspension.

Sagay accused the former SGF of violating the Code of Conduct for public officials by awarding a contract to a company linked to him.

“I think the suspensions are inevitable, and in my view they are a journey to total disengagement.

“The SGF is a top member of the administration. He should have known that for him to award a contract to his own company is absolutely prohibited by the Code of Conduct and the Constitution. What he was doing was illegal and unconstitutional."
