Ogun seeks N350m loan — three weeks to end of Amosun’s tenure
The Ogun state government has concluded plans to obtain N350m loan from the World Bank.
Ibikunle Amosun, governor of the state, disclosed this when he received a delegation of the bank in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The loan, according to Amosun, would help create a system-driven environment for business, needed for better welfare of citizens and good governance.
He said his administration would do everything possible to secure the loan, saying the incoming administration already had the support needed to enhance good governance.
He urged the bank’s team to fast-track the process for its final approval.
Kofi Nouve, leader of the delegation, said the loan would help the state government put in place necessary reforms and critical social investments that would help uplift the welfare of the populace.
“The team has got the final approval to proceed with the final design mission,” Nouve said.
It should be noted that the governor had appointed over 1,000 workers into the state’s civil service and promoted 5,000 government workers barely a month to the end of his tenure.
Amosun will hand over to Dapo Abiodun, the governor-elect, on May 29.

TB Joshua, Pastor Chris, Benny Hinn are children, not my equals – Bishop Obinim

Controversial Ghanaian preacher, Bishop Daniel Obinim has claimed that renowned men of God such as TB Joshua, Benny Hinn, Pastor Chris, Alph Lukau and Prophet Bushiri were his children in the spiritual realm.

Obinim said the acclaimed men of God were not his equals when it comes to spiritual affairs.

“I respect Pastor Chris, TB Joshua, Benny Hinn, and the other prophets but in terms of the Spiritual aspect, they are my children.
“They are my children. Go and ask them, they know me spiritually. Talking about spiritual ways, they know me.
“Benny Hinn is a healer, he can heal you; Benny Hinn is a preacher, he can preach, and deliver you but in terms of spiritual ways, he’s nowhere close to me.”
He went on to explain that when he places a curse on someone, no one can lift it.
He said TB Joshua or Benny Hinn cannot reverse a curse he has placed because they are nothing compared to him.
He said he can attest to TB Joshua’s teaching, prophetic and healing prowess, however, when it comes to spiritual affairs, the Nigerian prophet is a toddler.
Obinim disclosed that he is capable of doing anything including orchestrating a car accident that can terminate the life of his enemy.
He said Benny Hinn’s ministry was doing quite well, however, when he ties a knot in the spiritual world, Hinn can never untie it.

LAND OF BRIBERY !! Bayern Munich star speaks on how refusal to pay bribe stopped him from playing for Nigeria

Bayern Munich star speaks on how refusal to pay bribe stopped him from playing for Nigeria
David Alaba, Bayern Munich star, has accused coaches of the Golden Eaglets of denying him the opportunity to join the Nigerian squad at the 2007 FIFA World Cup in South Korea because he refused to pay bribe.
The late Yemi Tella was in charge of the Eaglets at the time.
In an interview with All Nigeria Soccer,  Alaba called the Nigeria U-17 coaches, “jokers” and vowed not to have anything to do with any of them in future.
He claimed to have trained with Palanga midfielder, Haruna Lukman Abdulkarim, UB Conquense forward, Macauley Chrisantus and Slovan Bratislava’s midfielder, Rabiu Ibrahim ahead of the 2007 World Cup.
The 26-year-old was eligible to represent Nigeria but he switched to Austria, his country of birth, after that encounter.
Alaba, who was born in Vienna, capital of Austria, has a Filipino mother and Nigerian father.
Alaba has earned 68 caps for Austria, scoring 13 goals and represented the country at the 2016 European Championship.
On September 9, 2007, the late Tella led a team of youngsters to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

That was the third time Nigeria had that title after previous wins in 1985 in China and 1993 in Japan.

Poor feeding contributes to high child mortality, says NAFDAC Director

Mrs Benedicta Ughanze, the Assistant Director, Food Safety and Applied Nutrition of NAFDAC, has said that poor feeding practices is a factor contributing to the high child morbidity and mortality statistics in Nigeria.
Ughanze said this in an interview in Abuja, NAN reports.
She also commended the media for its critical role in the promotion of code of compliance on proper feeding.
She said the code aimed at protecting and promoting breastfeeding by ensuring appropriate marketing and distribution of breastmilk substitute.
“Ideally, the media serves several essential roles in our society. Their primary purpose is to inform the public, providing citizens with the information needed to make thoughtful decisions about the environment and policies.
” The media acts as watchdogs checking activities going on in our environment. So they can be used to promote the code of compliance,” she said.
She described breastfeeding as the optimal method of feeding for the great majority of infants, saying it must be protected, promoted and supported.
“Unsuitable products, such as sweetened condensed milk, should not be promoted for babies.
“Manufacturers and distributors of breastmilk substitutes and related products shall not sponsor meetings of health professionals and scientific meetings
Ughanze also said according to provisions, no healthcare facility should allow manufacturers or distributors of the breast milk substitutes to use their facilities for commercial events, contests or campaigns.
She said manufacturers and distributors should comply with the Code’s provisions even if their countries had not adopted laws or other measures.
Ughanze, however, urged the media to serve as one of the foot soldiers in promoting infant young child feeding from grassroot level, adding that it was key priority in the effort to improve survival, growth, and development of children with equity.

Priests, Nuns shouldn’t conduct marriage classes – Daddy Freeze

Critics, Daddy Freeze has said it is wrong for Catholic Priests and Nun to conduct marriage classes because they have never been married.
He said marriage classes should only be conducted by people who have experienced marital bliss.
He was reacting to an Instagram user who said he went for a marriage class conducted by Priests and Nuns.
“Marriage classes in my opinion should only be conducted by people who have at least had a marital experience. Nuns or priests can handle spiritual or scriptural matters relating to marriage, but please….
“In my opinion, a married person, divorcee, widow or widower can hold a marriage class, not a Num or Priest that has never been married,” he said.
An Instagram user, Fatokiyemi said if a doctor who has never had HIV could attend to such people, a Priest or Nun could take a marriage class because of experience.
But Freeze replied: “This will make sense to you only if you consider marriage as dreadful as the HIV virus. A disease is not meant to be enjoyed, it’s meant to be endured… Well, isn’t that what many churches have taught us about marriage?
“Are you willingly going out to deliberately contract the virus? If you are, then this might make sense… Treating a disease and counseling an intending couple are two entirely different things, that must never be assumed to be in any way similar.”

Again, another Nigerian stabbed to death in South Africa

President Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa (NICASA), Ben Okoli, says a Nigerian, Mr Okechukwu Henry, from Imo State, was stabbed to death by unknown South African robbers.
The NICASA president said this in a letter to the Consul-General, Nigerian Consulate Johannesburg, South Africa.
A copy of the letter was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja.

“Tragedy has struck the Nigerian community again, just after 4p.m. on Friday, May 3. Mr Okechukwu Henry was stabbed to death by unknown local South African robbers.
”The late Henry, a car dealer who specialised in used cars, lived in Middleburg Mpumalanga Province.
“Earlier before his death, some two local guys had indicated interest to buy his car – a white VW polo.
”They had negotiated the price and agreed to buy; late Henry had produced all necessary documents to seal the deal when suddenly the local buyers said they wanted to test-drive the car first before paying,” he said.
According to him, Henry obliged them but insisted he would drive along with them.
”As they drove out, he suddenly realised that they were robbers as they demanded for the key of the car.
”They attacked him and stabbed him several times, they took the keys but could not manage to drive away the car.
“Their action attracted the attention of people around and they ran away with the keys without the car,” he said.
According to him, Henry was rushed to hospital, but it appeared he had died at the scene.
He said that a case of robbery and murder had been opened by the NICASA Provincial chairman in Mpumalanga.
”Your Excellency, the attack on Nigerians has reached an alarming level and demands something urgent to be done to stem this ugly tide.
”Our nationals are under attack in South Africa. We are under attack from every angle.
He called on the Nigerian Mission to urgently intervene.
“We no longer feel safe, we have become like a trophy hunted by all.
“The Nigerian Citizens Association, South Africa, is disheartened by the frequent repatriation of the remains of our dear citizens,” he said.
