Mbaka to Buhari: God is angry with you — resign now

Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign over the worsening insecurity in the country.

Speaking on Wednesday, Mbaka said God is angry with the president over his inaction on the widespread killings across the nation.

The Catholic priest asked the national assembly to impeach Buhari if he fails to resign.

“I know people will say, Mbaka did you not pray for Buhari, did Samuel not anoint Saul? What are you talking about? Am I the creator of Buhari? God created him, Nigerians trusted him because he has done well sometimes ago but now how can people just be dying?” Mbaka said.

“God will ask Nigerians: Nigerians why are you crying? We are crying because our leaders have failed us woefully. If it is in a civilized country, by now, President Buhari will resign. Quote me anywhere and let the whole world hear it. By now, with what is happening, President Buhari should honourably resign.

“We are crying because we don’t have a shepherd. All those that will fight what I’m saying now will eventually suffer the rot. If you can’t do it, either you resign or you be changed. A good coach cannot watch his team defeated when he has players sitting watching on the bench. Either Buhari resigns by himself or he will be impeached.

“This statement is too mysterious and supernatural. I know that people will begin to fight it. The chief security officer consulting on lives in the country will be sitting down not making any comment.

“Gunmen are attacking everybody. Why are you crying Nigerian youths? As I said, overseas has become a dumping ground for our ingenious youths. Young doctors, lawyers, running away from Nigeria? Countries we are better than.

“What is the matter? Nigerians are crying, why? Because there is no security in this country. House of Reps and the Senate should impeach the President if he doesn’t want to resign. God is asking what is the matter, I am telling God now, let him change our leaders for us. God is angry with our leaders, from Buhari to the last. God’s anger is upon you, you have failed God.”

In November, Mbaka asked Buhari to apologise to Nigerians over bad governance.

Nigerian man swallows N360m worth of cocaine for N750,000 reward

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted a suspected drug trafficker, Chigbogu Obiora, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi in a statement disclosed that Obiora excreted 97 wraps of cocaine worth N360 million.

The 47-year-old trafficker was nabbed on Sunday, April, 25 during the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airline.

Obiora arrived in Lagos onboard the airline from Entebbe, Uganda via Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia.

MMIA Commander, Ahmadu Garba said Obiora was taken for body machine scan and the result was positive for ingestion of substances.

The suspect was promptly moved to the NDLEA excretion and observation facility.

Garba said barely an hour after, Obiora excreted 31 wraps of cocaine weighing 500 grammes and another 47 wraps (750 grammes) in the evening of the same day.

The next day, 19 wraps (300 grammes) were excreted, bringing the total to 97 wraps (1.55kg).

The NDLEA spokesman said that under interrogation, Obiora claimed he was promised $1,500 to move the drug.

“I opted for the ‘deal’ because I needed money. I did it so that I will be capable of feeding my family”, he was quoted as saying.

“I was living in Madagascar but due to the COVID-19 and the lockdown in the country, I cannot return to my place of work.

“I have never met the real owner of the drug. I don’t know him, they contacted me on the phone and asked if I can do the business,’’ Obiora claimed.

Presidential Villa empty, Nigeria’s future must be discussed – Oby Ezekwesili

Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, a former Minister of Education has declared that there is no one in charge as the President of Nigeria.

According to her, two things must be done and urgently too, to determine whether Buhari is permanently incapable of discharging the functions of his office and secondly to determine an agreement for Nigeria’s future.

The 2019 presidential candidate and Bring Back Our Girls frontline campaigner said Nigeria must launch a process to determine Buhari’s capability to lead the country and convene a citizens-centered Sovereign National Conference where the future of the country will be discussed.

“I realize that it is quite possible that the @NigeriaGov of @MBuhari actually believes it is working hard for Nigerians, and so cannot understand why some people are complaining.

“I am here to ask Mr President, Is there actually a Government in office in Nigeria today? No.

“I am here to ask @MBuhari, Is there a Commander-in-Chief and President of Nigeria in office today, in this country? My answer is No.

“Presidents of other countries are doing presidential things that assure the Lives and Livelihoods of their citizens. Where’s ours?

“Nigeria needs to do two things urgently:

“Launch a process that helps determine whether @MBuhari is permanently incapable of discharging the functions of his office.

“Convene a Citizens-centered #SovereignNationalConference to determine an agreement for Nigeria’s future,” she tweeted.

Barcelona to appeal Koeman’s suspension

FC Barcelona have said they will appeal against the suspension given to Ronald Koeman by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF)’s Competition Committee.

Spanish FA (RFEF) gave Barcelona manager a two-match ban for misconduct during their 2-1 defeat at home to Granada on Thursday.

Koeman who was given a red card will miss the visit of LaLiga leaders Atletico Madrid, but his suspension starts with Sunday’s trip to his former club Valencia.

Koeman was sent off the field, after Darwin Machis equalised for Granada at the Nou Camp.

The referee in his post-match report said the Barca coach, having already been warned about his behaviour, spoke degradingly to the fourth official, shouting “What a character” at him.

The suspension, handed down by the RFEF Competition Committee, comes under the umbrella of “acts of disparagement or thoughtlessness towards referees, directors or sporting authorities,” for which two games is the standard punishment.

According to Barcelona, the red card was the first for Koeman as Barça coach.

Amotekun arrests ’45 northern youths’ who arrived Ondo ‘for military training’

The Ondo state chapter of the Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun, in Okitipupa LGA, says it has arrested about 45 youths at the entrance of a military barracks after arriving in a truck on Thursday.

Confirming the development, Adetunji Adeleye, Amotekun commander in the state, said investigation has begun into the incident.

“We have commenced investigation into the matter,” he said.

Tee-Leo Ikoro, spokesperson of the police command, confirmed that the youths said they were in the town for a military training exercise.

“The men are mostly northerners who said they wanted to undergo military training in the barracks to be security guards but the commander did not allow them because he did not have a signal to that effect,” Ikoro said.

“But since there was no place to keep them in Okitipupa, they have been handed over to Amotekun.”

In an interview with TheCable, Mohammed Yerima, spokesperson of the Nigerian army, said he is not yet aware of the development.

Yerima did not, however, comment on whether the army provides military training for security guards in its facilities.

LETS GO !! North is not afraid of restructuring – Gov Masari

The Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has dismissed insinuations that the North is not in support of Nigeria’s restructuring.

According to ThisDay, Masari noted that the way the country would be restructured should promote equitable allocation of both human and natural resources.

“Who said the North is not interested in restructuring? I think the North believes that there should be devolution. In devolving, you know many things are going to come with it.

“What I am telling you is more than my own personal opinion, because even from the Northern Governors’ Forum, there is unanimity on the issue of devolution. The extent is what has to be worked out,” he said.

Masari, who is also the Chairman of the North-West Governors’ Forum, reiterated that the devolution of power would remove the duplication of federal, state and local governments’ efforts in terms of infrastructural development.

Despite police ban, Yoruba nation holds Abeokuta rally [VIDEO]

Yoruba nation agitators are currently on the streets of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital despite the ban by the police on the rally.

Reports have it that the agitators, who are dressed in various local outfits, marched through Ake palace to access other parts of the state capital.

A leader of the group, while addressing the people, said “we had spoken with the police. Nobody can stop us from walking freely on our fatherland.

“That’s Alake’s palace, we are going there. They all know we are fighting their cause. They know we want to save them from the Fulanis.

“Yorubas can plan a seven-day battle for seven years. What we are doing now is preparation. Just continue repeating that what we want is the Yoruba nation.

“Do not fight anybody. We are not criminals. We are not here to attack anybody. We did not come here with any weapons. What we want is a Yoruba nation.”
