Husband and wife discover they are biological twins after IVF clinic performs routine DNA test

A married couple discovered they were biological twins after getting a routine DNA test at an IVF clinic because they were struggling to conceive naturally. Both met in college.

"During the process we take a DNA sample from both the male and female to get a profile of their genetic backgrounds", the doctor, whose name has been withheld to protect the patients’ identities, told the Mississippi Herald.

The doctor said his initial reaction was that they might be first cousins, which he said “happens sometimes” but then he noticed the very close similarities.

He checked the patient file and saw they had the same birthdays listed in the same year – 1984.

He then realised the husband and wife must be biological twins but did not know if they were already aware.

“It was a difficult subject to raise,” he said. “They burst out laughing when I asked them if they were twins.

“The husband said a lot of people remarked on the fact they shared the same birthday and looked similar but they said it was just a funny coincident and they were definitely not related.

The doctor says he continued to insist that the pair were twins and had DNA evidence to back it up, after which the wife "pleaded" with him to admit he was joking.

"I wish that I was, but they had to know the truth," he said.

They had both been adopted after their parents had died.

The pair’s biological parents had died in a car crash and, due to a filing error, neither of their adopted families were told they had a twin.

According to the doctor, the husband and wife are now considering their future together but are thought to be exempt from facing criminal charges for incest due to the unusual nature of their case.

Dino Melaye Escapes Assassination As Gunmen Invade House

Senator Dino Melaye escaped death by the whiskers as gunmen invaded his house in the early hours of Saturday at Ayetoro-Gbede in Kogi State.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the gunmen numbering about ten arrived the house at about midnight through the bush and opened fire from different directions on the house. The house was riddled with bullets while two of the vehicles parked in the estate were damaged by the hoodlums.

Melaye, (APC-Kogi West), was in his country home at Ayetoro-Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area for the Easter holiday at the time of the attack

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP William Aya told NAN that the police received a distress call from the senator at about 1 a.m. and immediately responded. He said the hoodlums escaped before the police arrived, thereby making arrest impossible.

Aya said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Wilson Inalegwu had set up an investigation committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations to unravel those behind the attack.

On his part, Melaye said the hoodlums arrived at about midnight and started shooting sporadically at the main building in the compound.

He said the shooting lasted for almost one hour, adding that apart from the building riddled with bullets, two of his vehicles were damaged.

The senator said he suspected Mr Taufiq Isa, the Administrator of Ijumu Local Government to be behind the attack.

According to him, the attack is most likely due to his incessant verbal attacks on the State Government.

“I got a rousing welcome from Kabba to my home town on Friday and I know it angered the power that is in the state which mobilised for this assassination attempt on my life.

“At about midnight, we started hearing gunshots. They fired more than 200 rounds of bullet into the house. This attempt to kill me will not stop me from speaking the truth.

“If I speak the truth, I will die, if I lie, I will die. I’ve decided to speak the truth and die. I’m not afraid of death. I only respect men, I don’t fear them.

“I am championing an administrative course. I will continue to speak and be the voice to the voiceless. I’m not deterred; I remain resolute to make Kogi better. Noting will stop me from coming home.”

Melaye also chided the police for not responding quickly to his distress call, saying that the house of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the town was a stone throw from the scene of the attempt on his life.

“The DPO did not come to my house until three hours later. Even the area Commander in Kabba was not notified until I called the Commissioner of police. I suspect a satanic collaboration between Taufiq Isa and the police in Aiyetoro because the duo held a meeting two days ago.

“Only God will protect us in this country but definitely not the police”, he said.

In a swift reaction, Isa denied having a hand in the attempt on the life of the Senator, saying that he had been busy for sometime taking care of his sick wife.

“I’ve never been a violent man. My running battle with Dino Melaye, if any, is because I have asked him to stop vilifying the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

“Let him (Dino) prove it. I lost my uncle a week ago; I’m still attending to my sick wife and busy supervising the APC re- registration programmes. I’m a democrat and law abiding. I challenge Dino to prove his case,” he said

Shocking! See the notorious man inside Abuja prison masterminded multi-million Naira fraud

An inmate of the Kuje Maximum Prison, Abuja, Ifeanyi Ezenwa, has been accused of coordinating series of frauds, which netted members of his syndicate millions of naira.

According to the Inspector-General Police Special Intelligence Response Team, which burst the syndicate, the members of the gang specialised in defrauding their victims, especially businessmen through the use of fake bank alerts.

Ezenwa was described as a notorious fraudster, who had defrauded car and auto spare parts dealers in many states including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

A source at the IRT explained that the syndicate operated by approaching traders intending to buy goods from them.

The source said, “After negotiations, they would ask their victims to forward their account number in order to do a money transfer. They would inform their victim that the transfer had been made and the victim would receive an alert to the effect. But when a victim goes to the bank to confirm his balance, the money would not be in the account.

“They did this mostly late on Fridays knowing that banks do not work on weekends and the victim may not be able to make any confirmation in the banking halls.

“Usually, some victims would release the goods to them. The leader of the gang who is in prison, uses a smart phone that is connected to the internet and browses through online retail sites like OLX, JiJi and Jumia, where he connects with people who wants to sell their valuables especially cars, chatting with them via Whatsapp.”

It was learnt that when he buys a vehicle, usually very expensive ones, he ensures that he his dealing with rightful owner of the vehicle and he would send members of his syndicate to verify the real state of the vehicle. He then proceed to use the same fake banking alert method to swindle the victim.

The police said the syndicate had defrauded their various victims of expensive vehicles such as Mercedes G Wagon, Hummer, Toyota Highlander SUVs.

Their activities became bad to the point that some victims wrote petitions to the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, who directed the Abba Kyari-led IRT to track down the syndicate, adding that their investigation led them to a house in Abuja, where the G Wagon, Hummer, Honda Odyssey, and a Honda ‘End of Discussion’.

One of their victims, Mohammed Saleke, a car dealer in Abuja, explained that Ezenwa swindled him of a Mercedes G Wagon worth N7m, which was on sale in his stand. According to him, Ezenwa sent a man to his car stand, who negotiated price and took a photograph of the vehicle which was sent to the inmate.

Saleke said, “My boy, Obinna, was the one dealing with them and when they agreed to our price. They took my account number and went to the bank to withdraw the money. The insisted on transferring the money to my Diamond Bank account. When I gave it to them, I received an alert after one hour and I called them to come and collect their vehicle. That was on a Friday, but by Monday when I went to the bank to check my account, I discovered there was no money paid in it.

“When I received the alert, it had my previous balance in it and the total money was balanced. I wondered how he was able to get access into my account. This incident happened in November 2016 and I have been looking for the vehicle.”

The police said the suspects would be charged to court soon while Ezenwa would also be charged for another round of fraud.

Despite In Jail, Fraudster Dupes From Nigerian Prison

The Inspector General Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, has burst a notorious fraud syndicate, that specialized in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public using fake bank alert.
The leader of the syndicate, Ifeanyi Ezewan, a notorious fraudster who is currently being detained at the Kuje Maximum Prison, Abuja from where he was coordinating his operations, was said to have masterminded the fraud, which saw several businessmen including car and auto spear parts dealers losing most of their goods worth millions of naira to the syndicate.

Police sources who spoke with Vanguard disclosed that members of the syndicate had defrauded several victims in various states including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

The source explained that members of the syndicate usually approached traders pretending they wanted to buy goods and after negotiations, they would ask their victims to forward their account number so as to transfer the agreed money to them.

The source added that when the fraudsters received the account number, they would, in some cases, credit the victims’ account with the agreed sum and the victim would receive an alert to that effect but when victims checked at the bank to confirm their balance, the money would not be in the account.

According to the source; “they do this mostly on Friday evening because they know banks don’t work on Saturdays and Sundays and by Monday when the victim goes to the bank to check his account balance it will be discovered that no money was paid in his account. At that time the victim would have released the goods to the fraudsters.

“The leader of the gang who is in prison, used a smart phone that was connected to the internet and through online retail sites like OLX, JIJI and Jumia, he connected with people who wanted to sell their valuables especially cars and he would communicate with them via WhatsApp.

When he was buying a vehicle, which were usually very expensive vehicles, he would ensure that he was dealing with the rightful owner of the vehicle and would send members of his syndicate to verify the real state of the vehicle. When he was sure of what he wanted, he would swindle owners of such vehicles using fake bank alert while the members of his syndicate would have driven the car away.”

The source disclosed further that some of his victims who had lost expensive vehicles, that include Mercedes G Wagon, Hummer, Toyota Highlander to the syndicate, wrote petitions to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, who directed his operatives at the IRT led by ACP Abba Kyari, to track down the syndicate, adding that their investigation led them to a house in Abuja, where a G wagon, Hummer Jeep, Honda Odessy, and a Honda End of discussion were discovered.

Northern Elites Trying To Silence Me – Emir Sanusi

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, says members of the Northern elite are trying to silence him. He said this while delivering his speech at the Inaugural Annual Chibok Girls Lecture held in commemoration of the third anniversary of the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls from Chibok Government Girls Secondary School by terrorists in Borno State.

The event, in Abuja on Friday, had the theme - ‘Where goes our girl child, our nation goes.’

The monarch, represented by his daughter, Shahida Sanusi, said he stayed away from the event due to the criticisms he had received from northern leaders following his statement of last week wherein he criticised them for being responsible for many of the North’s social maladies.

Sanusi said rather than address the issues, ‘anti-intellectual’ persons were trying to silence him.

He said, “Our colleagues and compatriots among the elite do not like statistics. Numbers are disturbing. I recently gave a speech in which I said the North-East and North-West of Nigeria are the poorest parts of the country. This simple statement of fact has generated so much heat, the noise has yet to die down.

“The response to this speech has been a barrage of personal attacks and insults aimed at silencing any voices that dare shine the light on the society to which we are saying Bring Back our Girls.

“There are those who believe these attacks are aimed at discrediting me personally but even if that is the objective, it will not work. I can only be discredited by what I have done and not by insults and lies on the social media. And in any event, personal criticism has no impact on the issues.”

He said he had been championing the cause of the downtrodden all his life. Sanusi added that even if he was dethroned, he would continue to speak for the rights of the helpless.

1,500 girls carrying B’Haram babies
Sanusi also said there are at least 1,500 girls either carrying or nursing babies fathered by Boko Haram fighters at the Dalori 2 Internally Displaced Persons camp near Maiduguri alone.

He, therefore, called on all Nigerians, especially members of the ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ group to do everything possible to protect the girl child or face another existential crisis in the near future.

Footballer Ahmed Musa divorces wife, Jamila, set to marry Calabar lady

When a Muslim man who doesn't need to divorce before he marries a 2nd wife, decided to do away with his first wife, probably something was fundamentally wrong.

Super Eagles and Leicester City star, Ahmed Musa, has divorced his wife and mother of his two children, Jamila, according to SCORE. This followed a much publicised disagreement between him and his wife at their home in England this month.

A top source told only SCORE: “Ahmed Musa has divorced his wife. He gave her Saki Uku (which in Hausa literally means a final divorce). She is already back home in Kano trying to get her life together again.”

It was gathered that Ahmed Musa has already done a wedding introduction with Ejue Juliet Adeh, the new lady he has fallen in love with. Last month, he quit the Super Eagles training camp in London to formally get the ball rolling for his second marriage.

Juliet is based in Lagos and she is from Calabar. It is also reported that the football star had paid off his former wife by giving her one of his houses in Kano as well as a Honda car. It was reported that both Musa and Jamila lived on the same street in Kano before dating and marriage.

OMG ! Lab Attendant Caught Selling "Pregnant Women's Blood" To Ritualists

It is the end of the road for a senior laboratory assistant at the Abura Dunkwa District Hospital in the Central Region, Stephen Enyan, after he was caught allegedly selling pregnant women’s blood to ‘sakawa’ boys (cyber fraudsters) for money rituals.

According to reports in Ghana, the suspect is currently in police custody, was said to have been hiding part of the blood samples he takes from pregnant women who visit the hospital for antenatal checks, for the purpose of selling it for cash.

He purportedly sells a little amount of the blood from GH¢5,000 to GH¢10,000.

Report monitored by Adom Fm said the laboratory technician was tricked by police investigators feigning to be interested in buying blood for their (sakawa) activities following complaints lodged by the hospital to the police.

Visitors to the hospital reportedly claimed that their ailments had either been compounded after attending the clinic or in some instances, the pregnant women lose their lives, which hitherto was not the case.

Some of the residents who corroborated the story maintained that most of the women who visited the lab either die during childbirth or lose their babies because their blood had been sold to the ritualists.

This led to the lodging of complaints to the hospital authorities who also informed the Abura Dunkwa police about the concerns.

The Medical Superintendent, Michael Danso, was said to have reported the case to the District Police Commander, Superintendent Robert Adika, who swang into action by deploying his boys to the health facility.

They had suspected the laboratory technician and so one of them reportedly posed as a ‘sakawa’ boy and contacted Stephen Enyan on WhatsApp before going to him to ‘buy’ blood.

Stephen Enyan agreed to supply him with the blood and sent GH¢250 as part payment of GH¢10,000 before he was arrested in the course of the transaction. The money, in five GH¢50 notes, were tendered in court yesterday.

According to information, the accused, even though joined the hospital as a laboratory technician, he was seconded to the mortuary when the health facility got a morgue.

Family members of persons who die at the hospital also started complaining about missing parts of their dead relatives, and that led to Enyan’s recall to the lab before he was arrested last week and put before court yesterday.

I Can Become A Babymama- Bimbo Akintola

Image result for images of bimbo akintola

Nollywood actress Bimbo Akinola in a chat with Tunde Ajaja has said there is nothing wrong in being a babymama and has a matter of fact she can. She says when a lady waits and knows no manna is falling from heaven, it's not wrong for her to get pregnant, take care of herself and child. She also speaks about societal pressure on women expected to be married, but are not, saying something critical needs to be done so people can change their orientations and let others be.

A lot has been said about your love life and some have said you should be married by now. Would you say the society is mounting pressure on you as regards marriage?

I guess these questions arise because of the country we live in and the kind of people we are. It’s also something I think we need to look at critically, because it seems we are creating more trouble for people, as marriages are now crashing within six months or even less. This is partly because the society puts a lot of pressure on people to get married. Shouldn’t we take a step backward and ask ourselves what we are doing wrong. It’s not about how soon, but how well? I think it’s time we realised that marriage is such a serious thing. Shouldn’t we allow people make their choices by themselves, without pressure? Parents should stop putting pressure on their children. Many women are divorced now and in some cases, there is serious fight and both of them would be fighting over the custody of the child. We need to start changing the way we look at marriage. It’s important we get married but marry at your own time.

You once said you love kids, and with the way people are embracing the option of child out of wedlock, popularly called baby mama, is it something you could do?

Of course, I can. Definitely I can do it because I don’t see anything wrong with it. Things are changing in the world at large. If you look around, you would find a lot of women are having babies and taking care of themselves. It’s everywhere. There are women who are not actors but are single mothers, and for a lot of people I think it’s about their biological clock. Instead of waiting for manna from heaven and you know there is no manna, and you feel the need to have children, then do it.

But the Yoruba culture makes it look like a woman is incomplete without a man. Does that not bother you?

We have to change our thinking, due to the time. You can’t be rooted in the past when the present and future are a totally different place. If you look at what is going on now, there are women looking for husband but can’t find. So would you now say because of that they shouldn’t have children? That’s unnecessary and it’s like making them suffer twice. I think for anybody that wants to have children, as long as you know you are capable of taking care of them financially and emotionally, why not.

As a good-looking woman, how often do men approach you?

(Laughs…) Every day that I go out. It’s a normal thing every day; from younger men, to people of same age and of course older men. It’s a regular thing. If it is not happening, you have to worry about yourself. Because of what we do, people want to date actors.

Update! Secret Details Of The Billions Recovered In Ikoyi By EFCC

The over N13billion recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from an Ikoyi apartment in Lagos was a discreet allocation released to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) for major but covert security projects.

The total value of the cash at Central Bank of Nigeria official exchange rate is over N13 billion.

What are the secret details? Inside sources revealed that,
former President Goodluck Jonathan approved the funds for the 30-year old secret service agency after its immediate past Director General, Olaniyi Oladeji, alerted him to the need for some “crucial and covert security projects”.

The funds were later released in cash directly from the Central Bank of Nigeria as a way of making its spending completely secret.

“The projects are scattered across the country, but there is a major one in Lagos being funded with the cash warehoused in the Ikoyi building,” one source told PT. “The spending on the projects cannot be subjected to the usual expenditure process, and that is why the funds are held in cash. If you like, you can call it illegal projects in the national interest.”

Our sources said only relevant top government officials and of the NIA are aware of the projects.
One official said when the incumbent Director General of the NIA, Ayodele Oke, was alerted that EFCC operatives had swooped on the apartment, being discreetly guarded by covert operatives, he rushed to the anti-graft agency’s headquarters in Abuja to advise its chairman, Ibrahim Magu, to withdraw his men as the funds belonged to government.

At the time, about 13 police officers and some soldiers, accompanied by photographers and videographers, had broken into the apartment, and were already dismantling the safes in which the funds were concealed, our sources said.

Mr. Magu however declined Mr. Oke’s request and directed his men to proceed with the operation as he had no security information backing the claim.

A frustrated Mr. Oke was said to have rushed to National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to complain, and the huge embarrassment he had caused his otherwise extremely quiet and secretive agency.

Presidency sources said Mr Oke met President Buhari in company of Attorney General Abubakar Malami to table the same complaints.

Those who saw the NIA DG before he was called in to see the president said he had two bulky envelopes believed to contain paper and audio-visual records of the security projects.

Officials said President Buhari has since directed Mr. Magu to forward to him detailed report on the operation. The EFCC boss was also directed to immediately deposit the funds with the CBN.

On his part, Mr. Oke was asked to document his complaints and then reapply for the seized funds.

A top presidency source said the President might ask Attorney General Malami to review reports submitted by the two officials, and then forward appropriate recommendations.

When contacted Friday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said, “It’s a security issue, and not strictly a presidency issue.”

He directed further enquiries on the matter to the security agencies involved.

Mr Oke of NIA confirmed to PT that the cash belongs to his agency but declined further comments when asked what the funds were meant for.

“You don’t expect me to tell you that,” he said.

Wike battles Presidency & NIA; says Billions found in Ikoyi is Rivers State money

The controversy surrounding the ownership of the N13bn ($43.4m, N23m and £27,000) found by the EFCC at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, took a dramatic turn on Friday as Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and the National Intelligence Agency claimed ownership of the money.
The NIA said the money belonged to it. Wike said no way.
The NIA, which is Nigeria’s foreign intelligence service, explained that the money, which was found on the seventh floor of the building, was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan for covert operations and security projects covering a period of years.

The cash was said to have been released in bits during the tenure of a former NIA director-general.

A source said that the cash was approved before the advent of the Treasury Single Account.

He stated that the Director-General of the NIA, Amb. Ayo Oke; the EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu; and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Moguno, had met over the issue.

The NIA source explained that when EFCC operatives stormed the Ikoyi property on Wednesday, they were informed that the said apartment was a safe house of the NIA from which discreet operations were carried out.

The EFCC boss, however, rejected all entreaties from the NIA and entered the building, breaking the fireproof safes and taking the money.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous because he was not authorised to speak with the media, told Punch that, “The money belongs to the NIA. It is for covert operations and security projects covering a period of years. The DG has met with the President, he has explained everything to him. The President asked him to put everything into writing and he has done so.

“The entire chain of events was a big misunderstanding. That place was an NIA safe house and you have to understand that the NIA carries out discreet investigation in conjunction with many agencies across the world."

Governor Wike's angle

Wike, who described the claim that the cash belonged to NIA as balderdash, insisted the immediate past governor of the state and the current Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, kept the money in the apartment.

As such, the Rivers State governor gave the Federal Government a seven-day ultimatum to return the money to the state government or be ready to face legal action.

Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday night, Wike said the $43m was part of the proceeds from the sale of a gas turbine by the immediate past administration, adding that the gas turbine was initially built by the Peter Odili administration.

The governor further challenged the Federal Government to set up a commission of inquiry to probe the source of the huge money found in the flat, insisting that the funds belonged to Rivers people and should be returned to the owners within seven days.

He said, “All these things they are saying that the $43m belong to the Nigerian Intelligence Agency is balderdash. When did the NIA begin to keep money in houses? As I speak to you now, the Federal Government is so embarrassed.

“I want the President to set up a commission of inquiry. We don’t want to fight anybody; they should set up a commission of inquiry or return our money within seven days. If they don’t, we will take all necessary legal actions and NIA will come and prove where they got the money from.

“The $43m is the proceeds of the sale of the gas turbine sold by the immediate past administration. The gas turbine was built by the (Peter) Odili administration. It (gas turbine) was sold to Sahara Energy.

“The turbine was sold for $319m. But as of May 2015, what was in the account was $204,000. We will avail ourselves and we will be present at the commission of inquiry expected to be set up by the Federal Government. If we are invited, we will come. There is no contradiction in this at all, but I know they (FG) will not agree.”

Wike said he would complete the monorail project if the Federal Government returned the $43m to Rivers State, adding that it would be “projects galore” in the state should the money be returned back to its original owner.

“Part of the money from the sale of the gas turbine was used to fund the All Progressives Congress campaign. We are telling the world that the money belongs to us. If they (FG) give us the money, I will complete the monorail project,” he said.

When contacted, the media aide to Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, Mr. David Iyofor, said he would react to Wike’s claim on Saturday properly on Saturday.

Pregnant Woman, Professor, 4 Others Die In Fatal Accident

A Professor of Human Physiology and Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences at the Federal University in Ebonyi State, Prof. Robert Nneli, and five others on Thursday died in a multiple auto crash that occurred along the Ezzamgbo axis of the Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Stella Uchendu, who confirmed the accident, said that the crash occurred around 9pm on Thursday night.

The FRSC boss said that the accident happened as a result of a head-on collision that involved a trailer with registration number Nassarawa 2183 XT.

“The vehicle veered off its lane and had a head-on collision with an oncoming articulated vehicle and crushed it. The accident equally claimed the lives of a pregnant woman and a nine-month-old baby among others,” she said.

Investigation revealed that Professor Nneli was travelling with his Toyota Camry vehicle to his hometown in Anambra State when the incident occurred.

It was gathered that his driver also died in the crash while his son survived and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

The second accident involved a jeep that rammed into the trailer that was involved in the first incident and it occurred at 11pm.

It was learnt that the accident led to the instant death of the five occupants while the six survivors of the crash who sustained injuries are receiving treatment in the hospital.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps evacuated both the dead victims and the injured to hospital.

Reacting to the incident, the Ebonyi State Police PRO, Jude Madu, debunked insinuations in some quarters that police officers were to blame for the accident, reiterating that officers of the command were stationed at the scene of the incident directing traffic.

“It is unfortunate that motorists refused to heed the instructions of the police officers, including the driver of the SUV involved in the crash,” Madu claimed.
