Video: You’re a bastard for insulting Oyedepo – Pastor Ibiyeomie blasts Daddy Freeze

The founder and General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has lambasted controversial Media personality, Daddy Freeze calling him a bastard and foreigner for abusing his father in Lord, Bishop David Oyedepo.

Daddy Freeze became controversial for criticising, and exposing Nigerian pastors about their preaching.

In his recent post on his Instagram page, Daddy Freeze attacked Bishop Oyedepo of Winners Chapel for saying women should submit to their husbands.

According to Daddy Freeze, Oyedepo’s advice is a misquote of the scriptures.

Reacting, Pastor Ibiyeomie in a viral video from his Sunday service, blasted Daddy Freeze, warning him not to ever insult Oyedepo or talk about him.

He also threatened the ace broadcaster or gets him arrested if he did not desist from insulting Oyedepo.

According to the Cleric who referred to Daddy Freeze as a foreigner, “I can’t be alive and you insult my father.”

“The day Daddy Freeze insults Oyedepo, I will deal with him and arrest him.

“Who gave birth to you? Do you have a father? Show us his picture.

“Oyedepo will not talk but I can’t be alive and you insult my father. I curse the day you were born.

“I will tear you into pieces you bastard. He is insulting him because he has no father.

“You can never insult a father if you have one, be warned. A man whose wife left him, has no good job, will be insulting my father and people will be laughing online. I will never be alive to see such and do nothing again.”

ALLAH SPOKESMAN !!! Cleric: Any Muslim lawyer who defends convicted Kano singer has renounced Islam

Abubakar Usman Mabera, chairman of Sokoto state Ulama forum of Izala, says any Muslim lawyer who defends Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, a musician sentenced to death in Kano state, has renounced Islam.

Sharif-Aminu was sentenced to death by hanging on August 10 after he was found guilty of blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad.

TheCable had reported how the development stirred an outcry among many Nigerians.

Despite the public outcry, the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria asked Kano state government to execute the court judgment.

In response, Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano, said he would not hesitate to sign Sharif-Aminu’s death warrant if he failed to file an appeal within 30 days.

The convict has however appealed against the court’s decision.

Mabera, while speaking in Sokoto at the weekend, said blasphemy is a capital offence in Islam of which punishment is death, and that since a competent court has found the singer guilty, he cannot be pardoned.

He asked Muslim lawyers to be careful in defending the convict, adding that “any lawyer who comes out to defend him has renounced his Islamic faith”.

The cleric also asked the Muslim faithful to seek God’s forgiveness because the prevailing setbacks in the country are signs of wrongdoing.

”For all indications, God is not happy with us and we have to repent because he alone is the answer to our woes,” he said.

In a statement on Thursday, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) said Sharif-Aminu was not represented by a lawyer during the trial at the Upper Sharia Court and that he has been denied access to any lawyer since his conviction.

Osun discovers baby factory, rescues 47 children

A baby factory that was allegedly operating under the guise of an orphanage in Ile-Ife has been discovered by Osun State Government.

It was learnt that 47 children were evacuated from the building, where women are apparently impregnated and their babies sold off by operators.

An undergraduate was also among women rescued at the facility which has now been sealed off by the state government.

The Women, Children and Social Affairs Commissioner Osun State, Olubukola Olaboopo led other officials of the ministry and police to seal off the facility identified as Oroyemi Elizabeth Covenant Home and Care Centre.

Olaboopo revealed that government received reports on the goings-on in the building over a period of three to four years suggesting that there were some illegal activities there.

She said despite warnings by the government, the owner persisted, thus breaching the Child Right Laws, and resulting in the closure of the building.

“We have gotten several reports over a period of 3-4 years, reporting how the children in Oroyemi Elizabeth Covenant Home and Care Centre are malnourished and the environment have been very dirty and how some illegal activities have been going on more or less like a baby factory and many more allegations,” she said.

“We rescued 47 children; 10-15 adults girls are there. Those with physical disabilities, among whom is an undergraduate of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, were among those that were rescued. Most of them were crying, they refused to follow us but we were able to take three of them.

“As at this (yesterday) morning, the matron who is taking care of those adults just told me that it seems two of them are breastfeeding. When we interrogated them, they said they have never given birth to a child. So it means that we want to know who got them pregnant when they are not married.

“How come they are pregnant? So there are so many things underneath and the state government is still investigating.”

Two Nigerians arrested for ‘defrauding a state in Germany of €2.3m COVID-19 fund’

Security operatives have arrested two suspects for allegedly defrauding the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia of €2.3 million COVID-19 fund.

In a statement on Sunday, Frank Mba, spokesperson of the Nigeria police, said the fund was meant for the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE).

The suspects, Babatunde Adesanya, 50-year-old master degree holder in cell biology, and Akinpelu Abass, 41-year-old managing director of Musterpoint Investment Nigeria Limited, were arrested by the cybercrime unit of the Nigeria police force and INTERPOL.

The suspects, who are said to be members of a transnational criminal network, were alleged to have cloned the corporate website of ILBN Holdings BV, Holland, to defraud one Freiherr Fredrick Von Hahn, a representative of the German state.

“Discrete investigations by INTERPOL Nigeria revealed that the suspects and their Holland-based cohorts, one Eduardus Boomstra and Geradius Maulder specialized in identity theft, cyber-stalking, cloning of corporate websites amongst other cyber mischiefs to defraud unsuspecting members of the public across the world,” Mba said.

“In this instance, the suspects fraudulently obtained from Mr Freiherr Fredrick Von Hahn the sum of 1.5m Euro and another 880,000 Euro as advanced payment for the supply of COVID-19 PPEs valued at 14.7million Euros. Disturbed by the non-arrival of the PPEs, Mr Freiherr Fredrick Von Hahn eventually visited the corporate office of ILBN Holdings BV in Holland to inquire reasons for the delay in supplying the items only to find out that the company never did business with him and that the transaction was a scam.

“The fraudsters merely cloned the company’s website and falsely presented themselves as representatives of the company before subsequently executing the fraudulent transaction. Consequently, he reported the case of fraud to the Police in Holland and this led to the arrest of Eduardus Boomstra and Geradius Maulder in Holland and investigations extended to Nigeria.

“Investigation by INTERPOL Nigeria further revealed that Babatunde Adesanya received 498,000 Euro from Eduardus Boomstra and Geradius Maulder through his Citibank London account and transferred same to an account number domiciled with a Lagos branch of a leading commercial bank in Nigeria belonging to Musterpoint Investment Nig. Ltd.”

Mba said the suspects will be arraigned in a court as soon as possible.

27 Nigerian girls return from Lebanon with tales of woes

Another batch of 27 stranded Nigerian girls evacuated from Lebanon arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday, with tales of woes.

One of the returnees said they encountered many challenges in Lebanon with many of them being owed seven to eight months salaries by their employers.

The girls were evacuated as a result of the collaboration between the Nigerian and the Lebanese government, as well as the Lebanese community in Nigeria

Mr Ferdinand Nwonye, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who represented the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, said the evacuation was in fulfilment of the Nigerian government’s promise to ensure no Nigerian is left stranded in Lebanon.

There had been several pleas from Nigerians stranded in Lebanon appealing for assistance to enable them to return home.

Nwonye said the Nigerian government was aware of the unfortunate situation they experienced in Lebanon, hence the collaboration to ensure their safe return to the country.

“I am here on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs who facilitated this return, together with the Ministry of Aviation, Embassy of Nigeria in Beirut, the Lebanese Embassy in Nigeria and the Lebanese community in Nigeria.

“These are the individuals and institutions that made it possible for you to be here today.

“It is unfortunate the situation you passed through; which is why the Ministries concerned made sure you are here today and we are telling you that you are now home today and nothing will happen to you.

“Make sure you follow the protocols they advised you on; you know what to do to recover your passports again.

“You are welcome back home and I wish you journey mercies to your various destinations,’’ Nwonye said.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman told newsmen that the stranded Nigerians were evacuated in line with the Federal Government’s guidelines on COVID-19 evacuations.

He said the girls tested negative for COVID-19 before embarking on the journey and would be allowed to go home after 14 days self-isolation, in line with the Federal Government’s guidelines for COVID-19 evacuations.

He explained that their passports were retrieved from them upon arrival and they are expected to collect them back with proof of COVID-19 tests which they are expected to take again once they complete their 14-day self-isolation.

The spokesperson said the girls were tested in Beirut before embarking on the journey and they were also profiled on arrival.

Mr Philip Webbe, a representative of the Silver Wings Group in Nigeria, said the Lebanese community and its Embassy in Nigeria had facilitated the return of the girls with the support of the Nigerian government.

Webbe said it was in fulfilment of their promise that they would not leave any Nigerian girl stranded in Lebanon.

“We are the company, silver wings that brought the Chartered flight to Nigeria. We are evacuating stranded Nigerian girls that are in Lebanon. These girls had nobody to assist them to bring them back to Nigeria.

“The Lebanese Community is assisting them with the help of the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Aviation, the Lebanese Ambassador to Nigeria and Nigeria’s Ambassador to Lebanon, and they have put great efforts to bring them back.

“We had 27 girls that came on this flight and just like we promised last time, we will not leave any stranded Nigerian girl in Lebanon.

“On this flight, Mr Fassai Khalid supported 20 girls to come and there were another seven girls facilitated by the Lebanese community.

“They all came today and they are finishing the process. Some came yesterday, some will come tomorrow, we won’t leave anyone of them behind.

One of the returnees who spoke on condition of anonymity appreciated the Nigerian and Lebanese governments for ensuring their safe return back home.

She said that if not for the assistance, they would have been left stranded in Lebanon as they could not afford to buy tickets to return home.

Cocaine traffic booming amid COVID-19 – Europol

The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) says cocaine trade boomed during the coronavirus pandemic.

Traffic from South America to Europe has reached “record amounts”, Sascha Strupp, a Strategic Analyst told Dpa.

Strupp called narcotics trade a “growing market”, adding that “coronavirus did not have any influence on smuggling via sea routes.”

From January to June, more than 25,000 kilogrammes of cocaine were seized in the port of Rotterdam.

The amount is more than double of what was found in the same period of 2019.

In August, Dutch Police found the largest cocaine laboratory ever discovered in the Netherlands.

The facility processed around 200 kilogrammes of cocaine per day in the town of Nijeveen near the German border.

Most cocaine gets Europe via the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain, Europol said.

The agency revealed that gangs have switched to smuggling drugs via sea routes due to shut of airspace.
