Shocking !!! My husband beats me, makes love to me in presence of our children - Woman

Image result for marriage dissolution

The Igando Customary Court, Lagos has dissolved the marriage between one Mr. Olasunkanmi Abdul-Kareem, 42,and his wife Bolanle Abdul-Kareem, over allegations of severe maltreatment, and forcefully making love to her in the presence of their children.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that Bolanle had earlier told the court that her husband, Olasunkanmi, was always in the habit of molesting her whenever he got drunk.
She said, “Whenever my husband came home drunk, he would want to make love to me ‘by fire by force’ and I would caution him not to do it in the presence of our children.
“He beat me and made love to me by force while the children watched us.
“There was a day I came back from work and I met my children, one on top of another, doing what they always saw their father do to me,’’ the 40-year-old trader said.
The petitioner also said her husband always threatened to kill her.
“My husband derived pleasure in beating me. There was a day he beat me and broke my leg. One day, he threatened to kill me and I ran to one of my relatives’ house.
“My husband came there and met my sister’s husband ironing his clothes; he snatched the iron from him and started chasing me with it.
“Seeing his desperation, I ran into the street and my husband still chased me with the pressing iron.
“Each time I reported him at the police station, the police said it was family matter and refused to caution him,’’ she said.
The embittered wife described her husband as “irresponsible” and a father who did “not care” about the welfare and education of their children.
However, Olasunkanmi, who did not deny the allegation of making love to his wife in the presence of their children, however, begged the court not to dissolve the union.
Delivering judgment, the President of Igando Customary Court, Lagos, Mr. Moses Akinniyi, said the marriage between Mrs. Bolanle AbdulKareem and Mr. Olasunkanmi Abdul-Kareem had been dissolved.
Akinniyi said the petitioner had remained adamant despite mediation from the court and family intervention.
He said: “Both parties henceforth cease to be husband and wife. Both are free to go their separate ways without any hindrances and molestation.
“Since the petitioner insisted on divorce after several interventions, the court has no choice than to dissolve the union in spite of the fact that the husband still claims he loves his wife. - Daily Post

Magu knows my location - Maina

Abdulrasheed Maina, embattled former Chairman of the defunct Presidential Pension Task Team, has declared that the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu knows his whereabouts.
Maina said the EFCC boss is aware that he is in Nigeria and working with the anti-graft agency to apprehend pension thieves.
The embattled former Pension boss made the claim while reacting to a question that Magu went on air saying he would go to Dubai, United Kingdom, UK, America and ensure he was arrested and brought back to face justice.
Speaking with The Sun, the elusive ex-Pension boss said, “That day I laughed. You know why I laughed. I laughed because Nigerians were being taken for a ride. How could Magu that I respect so much say that?
“But he lied. How can you say you are going to fetch me in Dubai, USA, UK when you know I am here in Nigeria with you. When you know I have been in Nigeria for ages.
“When you know I have been working with you; common, common. I am tired of this and I feel I am not getting justice.”

Transfer news : Arsenal plot £30 million move for Chelsea star David Luiz

Chelsea FC v AS Roma - UEFA Champions League

Arsenal are reportedly planning a £30 million move for Chelsea’s David Luiz, according to the Daily Express.
Wenger is looking at the 30-year-old as he looks to improve what has been a leaky defence so far this season for Arsenal.
Luiz has been an outcast at Chelsea since having a fallout with manager Antonio Conte. The Brazilian has rarely featured since being dropped after the defeat to Roma in the Champions League. Conte reportedly wants Luiz back in the side, but the Brazilian is demanding regular first-team football.
Luiz would bring Champions League and World Cup experience to the Arsenal defence. The 30-year-old can play at both centre-back and as a defensive midfielder, something that appeals to Wenger.
However, Arsenal face competition for the defender, with both Real Madrid and Juventus taking a keen interest in signing the Chelsea man. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is also reportedly interested in reuniting with Luiz, who the former Chelsea boss originally signed brought to Stamford Bridge.

Women are rarely accused of sexual harassment, and there's a reason why

a group of people holding a sign posing for the camera: Rev. Franklin Raddish, front, leads protest against same-sex marriage in Dayton, Tenn., May 7, 2004, on the eve of a gay rights celebration in Rhea County.

In the fire-hose torrent of sexual harassment scandals we are staggering under these days, one thing stands out as a common factor in all the cases: The accused are men.
"One of the reasons it is men who harass women, and sometimes other men, is that this is about power and overwhelmingly (workplace) upper management is male, so the positions of power are disproportionately occupied by men and the bottom is disproportionately occupied by women," says Abigail Saguy, professor of sociology and gender studies at UCLA and author of the 2003 book, What is Sexual Harassment?
You may be thinking at this point... well, duh, this is something we all know instinctively. Women don't do this kind of thing — grope, talk dirty, assault, sexually coerce, even rape their work colleagues. It's a Y chromosome kind of thing, right?
But not so fast. Franklin Raddish, a South Carolina Baptist pastor with a nationwide following, last month declared, as a means of supporting Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore (who lost Tuesday), that accusations of sexual harassment against men in politics and Hollywood amounted to a "war on men."
"More women are sexual predators than men," opined Raddish. "Women are chasing young boys up and down the road, but we don't hear about that because it's not PC."
He provided no evidence of this because, well, there isn't any.
Still, there are exceptions that prove the rule: On Friday, a Democratic candidate for Congress in Kansas dropped out of her race after The Kansas City Star found out she had been accused in a 2005 lawsuit of sexually harassing and retaliating against a male subordinate who rejected her advances when she was a corporate executive.
Andrea Ramsey was not a party to the lawsuit, which was settled and closed, and she denied she sexually harassed the man. But she dropped out of the race under pressure from the Democratic Party's "zero tolerance standard" on harassment allegations, thus becoming the only woman so far to be publicly accused.
Which leads to the question: What are the numbers on women accused of sexual harassment? Has anyone conducted scientific surveys and found some? What’s the reason why it appears the vast majority of people accused of workplace sexual harassment are men?
And what's the reason few men ever file formal complaints?
"Pride gets in the way," says Todd Harrison, a partner in a California firm that handles thousands of employment-law cases per year. "Most good plaintiffs attorneys who handle discrimination and harassment claims take on female-to-male harassment and the same (laws) apply. It’s just a matter of whether the men who are victims want to come forward."
There are few numbers available about women sexual harassers, and some of the numbers available are more than a decade old.
"It is extremely rare — it does happen but it is extremely rare," says Genie Harrison, a Los Angeles-based attorney who specializes in workplace sexual-harassment cases. "Men can be victims and women can be abusers, and I've represented victims where a woman was the harasser, but I would say it's at best a 99.9%-to-.01% ratio."
Various government agencies, such as the military, the federal employee system or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, keep track of complaints of workplace sexual harassment but they generally focus on the accusers, not the accused.
— In the most recent data available from the EEOC, there were 6,758 complaints of sexual harassment allegations received by the commission in 2016, and a little more than 16% were filed by men. But the data don't say who did the harassing — a woman or another man.
Moreover, EEOC data do not provide a comprehensive picture of the entire country. Plus, the agency estimates that most people, male or female, who have experienced harassment (more than 80%) never file a formal complaint about it.
The U.S. Merit System Protection Board, an independent agency tasked with protecting the nation's 2 million civilian federal employees, has been conducting surveys of federal employees on workplace sexual harassment since 1980. Its most recent survey was in 2016 but work on producing a report on the findings has stalled because the Trump administration has not yet appointed two members of the three-member board.
But its last report, in 1994, found that 19% of the men who responded to a survey reported they had experienced some form of unwanted sexual attention during the preceding two years. The report also found that 65% of those male accusers said they were harassed by women, and 1% of the women accusers said they were harassed by women.
— The Defense Department also tracks sexual harassment complaints in the armed services and National Guard; its last report, in 2016, showed that a total of 601 complaints were received in the previous year, with 415 alleged offenders reported for 326 substantiated complaints. Most of the harassers were male (396 or 95%); only 19 were female (5%).
Emily Martin, general counsel and vice president for workplace justice at the National Women's Law Center in Washington, who handles workplace sexual harassment issues, agrees that women harassers are a "minority of cases" because women are less likely to exercise power over men at work.
"I've never worked with a client where a woman was the harasser; we're a women’s-rights organization so the individuals who tend to reach out to us are women," Martin says. "And women who target other women (for harassment) is an unusual fact pattern."
Jennifer Berdahl, a professor in the business school at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver who studies the harassment of men, says harassment is also about gender and how society defines it. Males learn a sense of superiority over females from the time they are children, she says.
"Being a man means being superior to a woman and dominating women sexually or otherwise; sexual harassment is taking that (thinking) to an extreme," Berdahl says. "It's possible there's a rare woman who might get off on dominating a person like that but men are socialized from the age of 3 to think of themselves as being 'a real man,' defined as dominating women."
In her research, she says, she's found that the most common way a woman would harass a man is to question his manhood. For many men, she says, being scorned as "feminine" or "weak" is too humiliating to report.
Another source of limited data on women harassers: Law firms that specialize in employment law and sexual harassment cases, such as Perona, Langer, Beck, Serbin, Mendoza & Harrison in Long Beach, Calif.
Todd Harrison, a partner in the firm, estimates he handles about 150 cases of employment law a year, and about 65% of them are sex harassment cases. Of those, 10% — or less than 10 cases per year — involve women as the accused harassers, he said.
"Sexual harassment is not just about sexual innuendo or jokes or pats on the butt, it’s about power and intimidation, so the cases I’ve handled (involving women harassers), it’s normally a woman in a control position and using that power to intimidate men," Harrison says.
"Sometimes there are sexual overtures, inappropriate touching without consent, offers for quid pro quo or sex for promotion," he added. "A lot of times it’s a powerful woman in an organization who will talk down or treat a man different from his female counterparts."
But men can be reluctant to  come forward to complain due to fear of mockery, he says. Men may also buy into the notion that female-on-male harassment isn't even possible.
"Embarrassment is always an issue," Harrison says. "Societal norms say men are supposed to be able to handle this. But we have men (clients) who say, 'It’s just not fair. We’re always accused of it, here's a situation where we've been victimized by a person in authority.' "
What about if the harasser is a woman accused of harassing another woman?
"For woman-on-woman, the only difference is that if it’s a lesbian issue, I don’t know that (power and) position really matters," he says. "Often times, it's just (a case of) two co-workers involving sexual harassment."
Human behavior is contextual, says Saguy, and that's why fixing the longstanding problem of workplace sexual harassment (by either gender) requires changing the culture and not just laws.
Generally, she says, men don’t harass when they have less power over women or when the boss is a woman. "Changing a culture is not easy either, but it would be easier to change the culture and hold people accountable if we had more women in power." - USA Today

UK must 'deal with North Korea to halt development of missiles that could strike London'

a group of people standing in front of a crowd: kim-jong-un.jpg

Britain must “step up” to deal with North Korea as it is on the path to developing missiles that could strike London, the Defence Secretary warned today.
In an exclusive interview with the Standard, Gavin Williamson stressed that the pariah regime was a “massive threat” and a “real danger” to the UK.
Britain would “never hesitate to deal with aggression and threats”, he added. Two Royal Navy warships are heading to join operations with the American fleet and other allies in the region.
Hours after Donald Trump warned of the “nuclear menace” posed by the East Asian country’s supreme leader, Kim Jong-un, Mr Williamson said: “North Korea is a massive threat. They are a real danger to this country. They are currently on the pathway to have ballistic missiles that could strike London.
“This is not just a problem for the United States. This is a global problem. Britain has to step up in terms of dealing with it.
“There are threats emerging right around the world. Britain is a global player, it’s a world player. We will never hesitate to deal with aggression and threats.”
Pressed on whether Britain is making preparations to join America in dealing with North Korea, the Cabinet minister, who has had a rapid rise through the political ranks since becoming an MP in 2010, added: “We are always planning for the worst and hoping for the best. We are working with all our allies in the region to make sure that we continue to put pressure on North Korea.
“We’ve got HMS Argyll, HMS Sutherland going to the region to do operations with our allies.”
US scientists estimate that North Korea’s latest missile, tested last month, could have flown 13,000 kilometres, or 8,000 miles.
London is about 5,400 miles from Pyongyang, which is working on developing the technology to put nuclear warheads on its long-range missiles.
However, the more immediate threat from North Korea is to South Korea and Japan. Hours before Mr Williamson spoke, the US national security adviser, HR McMaster, said America had “to be prepared, if necessary, to compel the denuclearisation of North Korea”, with or without its co-operation.
In a wide-ranging interview, Mr Williamson also spoke about how Britain’s armed forces are ready to respond to a terrorist attack in London or other parts of the UK during the festive season.
After speaking to troops of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment — who will be on duty over the Christmas period — in Horse Guards in Whitehall, Mr Williamson said: “The simple reality is, terrorism never sleeps. It does not take holidays, it does not respect Christmas.
“That’s why our armed forces are doing such an important job in remaining constantly vigilant.
“We are there to support the police and the intelligence services in making sure that we do everything to combat any threat.
“But if in the dreadful situation that an event does occur, we are there to support them every step of the way in making sure that the British people are kept safe, with the fantastic work that our armed forces do.
“They make the British people an awful lot more safe than they would otherwise be.”
Amid the heightened tensions, Washington has also publicly blamed North Korea for a cyber attack in May that infected hundreds of thousands of computers worldwide and crippled parts of the NHS.
Just weeks ago, Pyongyang reignited tensions by resuming its missile tests, firing what it claimed was a type of intercontinental ballistic missile. It was said to be a Hwasong-15 and appeared to be a more advanced version of one launched in July.
In defiance of UN Security Council resolutions and international condemnation, including from its lone major ally, China, Kim’s regime boasted about developing a missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and reaching mainland America.
After the launch, a regime statement quoted Kim as saying: “Now we have finally realised the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force, the cause of building a rocket power.”
The dictator, who is in his early thirties, came to power in 2011 following the death of his father Kim Jong-il. Diplomats fear that an accident during his weapons testing could trigger military conflict.
Meanwhile, Japan and South Korea urged China to do more to “pressure” the rogue regime to end its nuclear and missile programmes.
After holding talks with his South Korean counterpart, Kang Kyung-wha, Japan’s foreign minister Taro Kono said: “China is currently implementing the United Nations Security Council resolutions but China can probably do more.
“We agreed on the need to put pressure firmly on North Korea.” - Evening Standard

Face of fraudster !!! David Mark illegally acquired Senate President’s official residence – Nigerian government

The Federal Government has accused a former Senate President, David Mark, of illegally acquiring his then official residence, now his private property.
Recall that in September this year, the government, through the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, which is chaired by Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, gave the former Senate President a 21-day notice to quit the mansion.
The notice, however, ordered Mark, who represents Benue South in the senate to “show cause” why the Federal Government should not “enforce the recovery of the property for public good.”
But Mark had quickly filed a suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja to quash all steps taken by the panel to evict him and recover the house from him.
The Senate President’s official residence is sited on 1.6 hectares of land at 1 Musa Usman Street, (also known as No. 1 Chuba Okadigbo Street), Apo Legislative Quarters, Gudu, Abuja.
According to title documents obtained by PUNCH, the property comprises eight structures, made up of the main house, ADC/chief security detail’s house, guest chalet, security/generator house, boys quarters, security post, driver/servants’ quarters and chapel.
But by a letter with reference number SPIP/INV/2017/VOL.1/17 and dated September 5, 2017, the Obono-Obla-led Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property insisted that Mark acquired the “national monument” in clear breach of the monetisation policy of the Federal Government.
The letter, signed by Obono-Obla and entitled ‘Investigation activities: Notice to recover public property in your care’, and addressed to Mark, stated in part, “The extant Monetisation Policy of the Federal Government, as enunciated and still being implemented, excludes all Principal Officers of the National Assembly and hence places the responsibility on the Federal Government to provide accommodation for them, same which you allegedly illegally appropriated.”
The letter asked Mark “to take steps within the next 21 days to vacate the said property or show cause why the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should not enforce the recovery of the said property for public good.”
It added, “You are further being notified pursuant to the Recovery Property (Special Provisions) Act, 1983, to complete and return within 30 days the attached Form B (Declaration of Assets Form) to the office of the undersigned.”
But Mark, through his lawyer, Ken Ikonne, filed the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1037/2017 before the Federal High Court in Abuja, insisting that he legally acquired the property through a “walk-in bid” at the behest of the FCTA.
The Attorney General of the Federation and Obono-Obla are joined as respondents to the suit.
Among his prayers, Mark sought “a declaration that the unilateral declaration by the defendants that the plaintiff’s acquisition” of the property “is illegal and the order compelling the plaintiff to vacate the aforesaid property” without affording him “a hearing,” amounted to a denial of his “fundamental rights to fair hearing and property, and are therefore unconstitutional and void.”
He stated in his suit that, “the defendants (AGF and Obono-Obla) unilaterally, and without affording me any hearing at all, and without any order of any court, declared my acquisition of the said property illegal, and ordered me to vacate the said property failing which the defendants would enforce the recovery of the property against me.” - Daily Post

It was alleged that sometimes in 2010 at Abuja, the accused person fraudulently forged a State House letter, signed in the name of Chief Mike A. Budget padding !!! Senate committee uncovers ‘duplication’ in power ministry’s budget

Senate committee uncovers ‘duplication’ in power ministry’s budget
The senate committee on power says it discovered duplication amounting to N16 billion in the budget of the ministry of power, works and housing.
The lawmakers wondered why two items listed in the budget of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) also appeared in that of the power ministry.
The items in question are the N4 billion earmarked for Kashimbilla transmission and N12 billion counterpart funding for transmission lines and substation projects.
The senators expressed their concerns on Monday when Mustapha Baba Shehuri, minister of state for power appeared before the committee to defend the budget.
Speaking at the meeting, Adamu Aliero, senator representing Kebbi central, said the figures are “misleading”.
He said: “The N4 billion and N12 billion appeared on TCN budget when they came to defend their budget.
“Why are you presenting the same now? The figure is misleading.”
On his part, Bukar Mustapha, senator representing Katsina north, said the Kashimbilla item had nothing to do with the power ministry.
“Kashimbilla budget has nothing do to with the ministry. There are many, this has been the problem of the power sector,” he said.
Clifford Ordia, senator representing Edo central, wondered why N888 million would be earmarked for vehicles.
“I need to understand this thing. Look at the different pages. You earmarked N120 million, N288 million and N480 million for the purchase of vehicles. I do not understand. Are these vehicles different? If you add up this figure, it gives you about N888 million,” he said.
“You also said that you want to spend N100 million on transfer of office files. How do you intend to do that? The people in your office, what have they been doing?
“I can also see from your estimates here that you captured another item for ICT, different from the N100 million for transfer of files. You need to explain these things.”
Enyinnaya Abaribe, senator representing Abia south and chairman of the committee, said a “comprehensive” list would be sent to the ministry to address the grey areas.
Abaribe adjourned the meeting after asking Babatunde Fashola, minister of power, works and housing, to appear before it at a new date. - Cable Nigeria

World 100m champion : US sprinter caught up in new doping scandal

The world 100m champion, Justin Gatlin is at the centre of a doping scandal after members of his team reportedly offered to supply performance enhancing drugs.

An investigation by The Telegraph claims the US sprinter’s team members offered to provide prescriptions under a false name, and smuggle the drugs to the United States.
According to the newspaper, undercover reporters went to Gatlin’s training camp in Florida. Here the athlete’s coach and athletics agent offered to supply and administer testosterone and growth hormone. The reporters posed as production company employers looking for substances to help an actor get into shape.
They reportedly recorded Gatlin’s coach, the former Olympic gold medalist Dennis Mitchell, and the agent, Robert Wagner, claiming doping in athletics was still widespread and that doping tests proving the use of any banned substances could be avoided.
The Telegraph said that in one meeting with its undercover reporter, the agent claimed Gatlin himself had been taking performance enhancing drugs, something the athlete denied in a statement released on Monday night.
His legal representatives said that in more than five years of official drug tests “he has never tested positive for any banned substance”.
Investigations have now been opened by the Athletics Integrity Unit and the International Association of Athletics Federations into Gatlin, his coach and his agent, The Telegraph reports.
Gatlin beat Jamaica’s Usain Bolt at the World Championships in London in August where the US sprinter was booed by the crowd.
Gatlin has been banned for doping on two previous occasions, in 2001 and 2006. - The Independent

We Have Found The Gun That Killed Tupac - Police

Police Have Found The Gun That Killed Tupac

Tupac's murder case has remained a cold case for two decades after the rapper was gunned down on the Las Vegas strip. Though various theories have been both compelling and absurd over the years, no one has been charged or identified in the murder.
Suge Knight, who was with Tupac at the time of his shooting, has claimed that his ex-wife Sharitha Golden and a former Death Row security chief killed Tupac Shakur, and that he was in fact the real target of the 1996 murder.
But, according to new information discovered by the A&E documentary Who Killed Tupac?, police found the gun they believe was used in the shooting:
A .40 caliber Glock was found by a citizen in his backyard in 1998 ... which he reported to police. Compton PD records show it was booked as found property on May 30, 1998. In 2000, L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. took over law enforcement of Compton, and 3,800 confiscated firearms - including that Glock - were transferred to the LASD. Fast forward to 2006, when Deputy T. Brennan - who'd been working the Notorious B.I.G.murder - was sifting through records. According to the doc, he recognized the address where the gun was found as the home of the girlfriend of a prominent Crip member ... known to have beef with Pac. The deputy immediately ordered ballistic testing, and bam -- the results were a match for the firearm used to kill Tupac.

Unfortunately, federal prosecutors stopped the gun from being sent to Las Vegas Police who were investigating the case in fear "that the weapon’s discovery might tip off any conspirators involved in his death." And what's concerning is that A&E says it reached out to LVPD, but officers were unsure what happened to the weapon.
Even though the gun is missing, this does clear up a little bit of mystery surrounding Tupac's death. If it was indeed a prominent Crip feuding with Tupac, that would negate many of the theories out there - including Suge Knight's claim that he was the intended target.
The A&E documentary in which civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump investigates the death and reveals his findings to Tupac's brother, Mopreme Shakur, airs in America on Tuesday. - Esquire UK
