Messi-themed amusement park to be opened in China to rival Disneyland

As one of the most famous faces in world sport, Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi is now getting his own theme park in China.

The Argentine forward will be the subject of a themed development in Nanjing which is due to throw open its doors to the public in 2019.

There will be 20 attractions on offer, spread out over 500,000 square feet of indoor space and 130,000 square feet of outdoor play.
Messi’s park will use virtual and augmented reality technology to offer football training clinics, entertainment activities and displays featuring some of Messi’s career highlights.

The Chinese firms backing the plans, who intend to rival Disneyland, claim The Messi Park Experience will offer: “The most cutting-edge technology, enabling visitors to immerse themselves in all things Messi by combining the latest-generation attractions with the very best advances in content and multimedia attractions.”
Messi has been in China to launch the park during a four-day visit to the Asian nation.

He said: "I hope to provide them the experience they never had before and to inspire them to pick up the sport early on.
"Hopefully, they will feel that I am around when visiting the park."

Spanish firm Mediapro, who will run the attraction alongside Chinese broadcaster Phoenix Group, says the Messi Experience Park will offer “a unique global experience”.
While Messi is currently promoting his interests away from the field, he has also been quizzed on football matters.

The 29-year-old will be working under a new manager at Barcelona next season, with Ernesto Valverde confirmed as the successor to Luis Enrique.

Messi said of the coaching change at Camp Nou: "Of course we know his past experiences, but we have never had direct exchanges and talks.
"When I get to know the coach better and his working style, our goal is always the same which is to have more achievements and to win more titles."

Messi netted 54 times across all competitions in 2016-17, with his 37-goal haul in La Liga earning him a fourth Golden Shoe award of his remarkable career. - Goal.com

“How you contact UK Visas and Immigration is changing.
“From 1 June, all customer enquiries will be handled by a new commercial partner Sitel UK. The new contract will see a number of changes for customers.”

“The way you pay to use the telephone service will remain the same using a credit or debit card.

The UK mission, however, stated that there were no changes to services for customers contacting from inside the UK.

‘My ex-husband tied me up like a thief just to beat me’ – Nollywood actress, Etinosa

Following the high rate of domestic violence entangled in the lives of our favourite Nigerian celebrities which has led to breakage of different homes, Nollywood actress and Instagram comedienne, Etinosa Idemudia sat with BroadwayTV revealing that she was also a victim of domestic violence from her former husband.

Shocking isn’t it? To think that she was already married let alone separated.

However, the actress who was close to tearsspoke about the pains and abuses she witnessed in the hands of her former husband when asked ‘what was her biggest love mistake’?

In her words:

“Right now, I hate love, I hate romance. I was with this guy who never really believed I loved him. I don’t even understand how that works, how can you put everything on hold for someone and give your all to someone and all they think of is you are too good for me. I mean at the beginning it is really cute when he tells you I don’t deserve you and you are like ‘Oh My God’ but along the line everything you do is like a competition.
The worst mistake I made was been with someone I was better than; mentally, financially, intellectually and status. I don’t know whether to call it inferiority complex He just felt threatened all the time there was this hunger for control always and I am like ‘Nigga chill! I belong to you or I supposedly belong to you, everything I have is yours, I am not trying to outshine you in life. You don’t have to punch my face to make sure I don’t talk back at you or to make sure your word is lord. So the biggest mistake I made was being with a man I was better than”.
When asked what was the worst thing her husband has ever done to her she replied;

“I was in a super abusive relationship, everything you can think of happened. I have been tied up life a thief i have seen alot in my life, and I thank God for comedy I am still alive and not mad on the streets at this point in my life when i see things happen in people’s marriages I am like Ok, nothing can shake me anymore because I have seen the worst of life but thank God we don’t look like what we’ve been through by the way congratulations to me my legal divorce papers came recently so I am free and if i don’t tell you you won’t know it wasn’t just a relationship it was a marriage which is kind of worse”.
She concluded by saying that if she finds a man who meets her criteria she will give love a second chance

Adams fears sad end for Wenger

Tony Adams fears Arsene Wenger's record-breaking reign as Arsenal boss could "end in tears" now he has signed a new deal.
The season-long saga over Wenger's future was resolved this week as he signed a two-year extension in the wake of Saturday's FA Cup final win over Chelsea.

Victory at Wembley gave the Gunners' longest-serving boss a record seventh win in the competition, but a fifth-placed Premier League finish was the worst result of Wenger's 21-year reign and reaction to his new deal among supporters has been mixed.

The Frenchman has made it clear the priority now is a first league title since 2004, but his two-time double-winning captain told Sky Sports News HQ he doubts whether that is achievable in the short-term.
"I believe this squad is not going to win the league in the next two years," said Adams, who skippered Arsenal to four league titles. "It could possibly all crumble around him, and I think that would be very sad.

"From one human being to another human being, I hope it doesn't. I really prayed that he'd get out after the FA Cup, say 'enough is enough' and find someone else to replace him.
"I don't know who that is. I don't know the legacy of Arsene. Maybe in the next two years he will have a legacy and he will get a transition of new coaches coming through. If he's doing that I say 'fantastic Arsene, wonderful'.

"I just think he's been the most successful Arsenal manager of all time. I don't want that spoiled and I see signs that he's incredibly addicted to football. I don't see that he's got a life outside of it.

"I just don't want him to go on too long and for it to crumble and end in tears, and all of us don't like Arsene. It would be so sad."
Adams' recent book included criticism of Wenger's coaching ability which the former England captain, who had a recent short spell in caretaker charge of Granada, says was misrepresented.

He said: "I tried to be constructive with my book and in the serialisation it was taken out of context. I criticised his coaching ability. I stand by that. My point was he's not the best coach I've ever had.
"He's a good coach, don't get me wrong.

Compared to most he's right at the top, but he didn't teach me. Don Howe, Terry Venables, Terry Burton, George Graham - these are the guys that taught me how to defend. Arsene taught me about life, philosophy and being a wonderful human being."

Adams also suggested Wenger should have "swallowed his pride" and added him to the Arsenal coaching staff, saying: "I think six or seven years ago I could have been an asset to the club, but he definitely kept me out.

"There's no reason for him to take me back just because I played there for 22 years - it's not about that - I just believe I could have maybe helped him. We could have been a good team, we could have worked well together."

Mourinho was desperate for me to play' - Terry

John Terry has revealed he had daily injections for a whole year after Jose Mourinho asked him to play for Chelsea with a broken foot and toe.

The 36-year-old is nearing the end of his time at Stamford Bridge, with Terry formally leaving the club at the end of his contract on June 30.

The experienced defender has already played his last game for Chelsea and opened up about the sacrifices he made during his career with the Premier League champions.

"I remember in Jose Mourinho's years he was desperate for me to play or train when I had a broken toe and a broken bone in my foot," Terry told the club's official website.

"I had to have two injections in my toe every day for a whole year, one before training and sometimes the doctor would have to come out and re-inject me because it wore off in training if it was a longer session than an hour.

"It was just a given for me. I played through the pain barrier numerous times. In the 2015 Premier League-winning season when I played every minute of every game, you just find a way.
"I would do it again tomorrow because it sounds crazy but you would give your life for the football club when they have given you so much over the years."

Klitschko: Positives from defeat

Wladimir Klitschko says he has been left feeling like a winner despite his defeat at the hands of Anthony Joshua in April.

Klitschko had now IBF and WBA heavyweight champion Joshua (19-0-KO19) on the canvas in the sixth round of their clash at Wembley Stadium but eventually succumbed to an 11th-round stoppage.

However, Klitschko (64-5-KO53) says the response to his gladiatorial performance against the British star has left him enthused for his future in the ring.

Klitschko said on LinkedIn: "After years of constantly preparing myself up for victory, this is a completely new experience. I now understand that success does not necessarily mean achieving a set goal.

"Instead, success means achieving the best possible result. Sometimes we cannot see beforehand what the best possible result might be.
"In the end, it was Anthony Joshua who struck the decisive blow and left the ring victorious. I failed to achieve my goal of winning, but I did in fact gain much more than this.

"I never thought I would say such a thing, but: in defeat, I achieved much greater success than I would have had I won. Fans and sports enthusiasts worldwide are celebrating my performance and showing me their appreciation. Even my opponent expressed his respect for me.

"The responses that I received and continue to receive after this night of boxing are overwhelming. Commentators reported that I showed greatness even in defeat.

"It took a while for me to get over not winning in the ring. Yet I immediately experienced an increase in recognition and respect. When I appeared at Wembley Stadium on April 29, I was booed by the majority of the spectators.

"Joshua had a clear home advantage as an Englishman. But as I left the ring again, I got goosebumps. Tens of thousands of people who had wanted me to be defeated were applauding me.
"I experienced enthusiasm, encouragement and respect: for me, my performance, my fair fight and my boxing as a whole. I cannot wish for anything better."

Manchester United target Andrea Belotti, Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata

Manchester United move on to new striking targets now Antoine Griezmann looks set to stay at Atletico Madrid.
There is one slightly positive bit of news from the failed bid for Antoine Griezmann. It's happened early, and United haven't missed out on any of the possible replacements for his position. Gareth Bale, for example, is potentially available this summer, and the money can be spent elsewhere on the team if necessary to bring in improvements across the team.

And... with Atletico Madrid's transfer ban now upheld, it seems as if Alexandre Lacazette is once again available. Lacazette was presumably bought in anticipation of Griezmann joining United this summer, and now that appears to be over for Atletico, United are rumoured to be next in the queue. It skips a couple of years of faff, I suppose, and he is meant to be the ess.

The Daily Mail believes a lot of things. It believes foreigners are pure evil, and that home prices constitute a religion. They are wrong about that, obviously, and they are a vile rag. But their sports journalism can be pretty good. Let's hope so, anyway, as they believe that United are moving their attention to Andrea Belotti, Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata. It doesn't really matter if United get Griezmann or someone else of similar quality (which, yes, probably rules out Lukaku).

A little further down the pecking order is Ryan Sessegnon. Manchester United are apparently interested in the Fulham child. It is impossibly difficult to get excited about the nature of football these days, basically going ever further down the age range in the scramble for talent. It demeans us all and we probably will keep watching anyway.

And, lastly, Bryan Robson has said that Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez is the right type of player for United. He is, kind of, but he is certainly excellent. Persuading him to move from London to Manchester might not be easy, though.

Trump Administration Asks Supreme Court to Restore Travel Ban

President Donald Trump’s administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court to immediately reinstate his stalled travel ban, aiming to reverse a string of courtroom losses and setting up the biggest legal showdown of his young presidency.

The request puts a Trump initiative before the Supreme Court for the first time and brings the nine justices into a national drama over claims that the president is targeting Muslims and abusing his authority. The case will give the first indications of how Chief Justice John Roberts’s court will approach one of the most controversial presidents in the nation’s history.

Trump is asking the court to hear arguments on an expedited basis and to reinstate the executive order in the interim.
At issue is Trump’s executive order temporarily barring entry into the U.S. by people from six predominantly Muslim countries in an effort to protect the country from terrorists. The administration asked the court to let the ban take effect while the justices decide whether to review a lower court ruling that said the policy was "steeped in animus and directed at a single religious group."

As a practical matter, the request for immediate action could determine the fate of the policy, given that the ban would be in effect only for 90 days. The court acts on such requests based on the legal papers without hearing arguments.

A Virginia-based federal appeals court voted 10-3 to uphold a nationwide halt to the policy, saying the travel ban was driven by unconstitutional religious motivations. The majority pointed to Trump’s campaign vow to bar Muslims from entering the country and to the special preference for religious minorities included in an earlier version of the ban. The appeals court’s May 25 opinion also faulted the White House for rushing out the first version without consulting with the national security agencies.

The executive order "speaks with vague words of national security, but in context drips with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination," Judge Roger Gregory wrote.

Three dissenting judges pointed to a 1972 Supreme Court decision that said courts shouldn’t second-guess immigration decisions that are based on a "facially legitimate and bona fide reason." Judge Dennis Shedd said the travel-ban ruling would make the country less safe.

“The real losers in this case are the millions of individual Americans whose security is threatened on a daily basis by those who seek to do us harm,” Shedd wrote.

After Trump’s proposed Muslim ban drew criticism during the campaign, he shifted course and called for blocking immigration from countries with a "proven history" of terrorism. The travel policy would temporarily halt issuance of visas to people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

Trumps’ initial travel order -- issued a week after he took office -- threw airports around the world into chaos and prompted an outcry from the technology industry and U.S. universities before it was blocked in court. The president signed the revised version on March 6, and he later said it was needed to protect against "radical Islamic terrorists."

Kennedy Opinion

A central question in the legal fight is whether a 2015 opinion written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, the likely swing vote for the Supreme Court, gives judges broader leeway to intervene in immigration decisions.

Kennedy said courts should defer to executive branch decisions on immigration "absent an affirmative showing of bad faith." His opinion came in the case of a U.S. citizen seeking to challenge the denial of her Afghan husband’s visa application. In blocking Trump’s travel ban, the appeals court pointed to that language and said the administration acted in "bad faith."

Kennedy wrote only for himself and Justice Samuel Alito in the 2015 case, but the opinion represented the controlling reasoning for the splintered court.
Trump’s position was strengthened in April when the Senate confirmed his Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, restoring the court’s conservative-leaning majority. - Bloomberg

Fayose, urges President Buhari to resign

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign from office forthwith to discharge the moral burden, which his perceived incapacitation has placed on him.
He said President Buhari has refused to be morally upright and pave way for capable hands to run the affairs of our country, which is daily deteriorating and directionless.
Fayose, who spoke at a press conference in Lagos yesterday, said instead of waiting for the ministers and rigours of Section 140 of the Constitution, the President should save Nigerians the anguish, suspense and hardship by resigning on the basis of morality.
He noted that virtually all the concerns he raised in 2015 about Buhari are being witnessed on a daily basis in Nigeria, asking rhetorically whether anybody could doubt that President Buhari is severely sick or that the economy is going down.
His words: “While praying for President Buhari’s recovery, his incapacitation has placed on him a moral burden. The worst form of corruption is moral corruption, it is worse than financial corruption, which the President claims to be fighting.
“Financial corruption can only come from someone who is morally corrupt. For a President who prides himself as a corruption czar, an incorruptible man; why is he finding it difficult to be morally upright and resign, knowing the hardship his redundancy is causing the economy and masses.”
The governor noted that “not resigning and continuing to rule in his incapacitated state borders on his integrity,” regretting that the President had thereby allowed other people to perpetuate oppressive, corrupt practices in his name because he is incapacitated.
Fayose, who expressed worries that amid claims by the Federal Government that it has degraded Boko Haram, herdsmen have continued to kill citizens without them being arrested and tried in court, dismissed the past two years of Buhari’s change as a misadventure.
He said: “It is a government of failed promises, deceit and propaganda.”

104-Year-Old Woman and Her Sisters, 102 and 100, Honored at Their High School's Graduation

A 104-year-old woman has been honored at her former high school's 2017 commencement ceremony Tuesday night.

Hazel Jarrell, of Ohio, was part of Canton South High School’s first graduating class in 1932.
The elderly woman was met with a standing ovation as the school celebrated her and her two sisters, 102-year-old Irene Jarrell and 100-year-old Ruth Jarrell Gerber Hall, who also graduated from the school in 1933 and 1935.

“They introduced me and had me stand. It was kind of awesome,” Hazel told InsideEdition.com.
The school had the women transported to the ceremony and had special seats for them in front of the auditorium.

“It was real nice. They were really happy to be there last night. They are pretty amazing and are still so sharp,” said Wendy Busnick, a school spokeswoman.

The original Canton South High School building that Hazel and her sisters attended will be demolished this year and a new one will sit next to the old building. The ceremony marks the last graduating class of students who attended the school in the original building.

Hazel said she is sad to see that building go because she has history there but she realizes they have a need for the new building.
“It was really special night for all three,” said Darlene Gerber, Hazel’s niece.

India leading polluter, says US President Donald Trump while pulling out of Paris climate accord

United States President Donald Trump today withdrew from the historic Paris Climate Change Accord, saying that the agreement punished the United States of America.

In a speech delivered at the White House's Rose Garden, President Trump indicated that India and China - in his words among the world's leading polluters - were getting off easy.

Trump compared the concessions granted to India under the deal, saying that while while India was allowed to double its coal production by 2020, the United States was expected to "get rid" of its coal jobs 'The agreement doesn't eliminate coal jobs, it just moves them to foreign countries,' Trump told a gathering of media in Washington.

President Trump went on to say that the Paris climate accord was an example of an agreement that disadvantaged the United States of America and was in fact about other countries gaining a "financial advantage" over the United States.

Supporters of the accord condemned Trump's move as an abdication of American leadership, an international disgrace and a monumental foreign policy blunder. His predecessor, Barack Obama, expressed regret over the pullout from a deal he was instrumental in brokering. "We're getting out," Trump said at a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden in which he decried the Paris accord's "draconian" financial and economic burdens. He said American withdrawal "represents a reassertion of American sovereignty."

Trump said the United States would begin negotiations either to re-enter the Paris accord or to have a new agreement "on terms that are fair to the United States, its businesses, its workers, its people, its taxpayers." US allies voiced dismay over Trump's move, and France, Germany and Italy dismissed his suggestion that the global pact could be revised. With Trump's action, the United States will walk away from nearly every nation in the world on one of the pressing global issues of the 21st century.

The pullout will align the United States with Syria and Nicaragua as the world's only non-participants in the accord. Trump said the United States would cease payments to the UN Green Climate Fund, in which rich countries committed billions of dollars to help developing countries deal with floods, droughts and other impacts from climate change.

The United States was one of 195 nations that agreed to the accord in Paris in December 2015. But Trump said the accord would "undermine our economy, hamstring our workers, weaken our sovereignty, impose unacceptable legal risk, and put us at a permanent disadvantage to the other countries of the world."

"We don't want other leaders and other countries laughing at us any more. And they won't be," Trump added as he tapped into the "America First" message he used when he was elected president last year. Tesla Inc Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk said he will leave White House advisory councils after Trump's move. "Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world," Musk said in a Twitter post. General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt said he was disappointed, adding, "Climate change is real. Industry must now lead and not depend on government."

Republican US congressional leaders backed Trump. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell applauded Trump "for dealing yet another significant blow to the Obama administration's assault on domestic energy production and jobs."
Democrats blasted the president's move. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer called the decision "one of the worst policy moves made in the 21st century because of the huge damage to our economy, our environment and our geopolitical standing." - India Today

Drama as court discharges Lagos textile dealer who attempted suicide

There was a mild drama at an Ebute-Meta Magistrate’s Court on Thursday after a 58-year-old textile dealer, Mrs. Taiwo Momoh, was discharged for offences bordering on attempted suicide.

Momoh stepped out of the dock, knelt down and started giving praises to God.

Immediately she got out of the court, she covered her face with two sets of clothes and hastened towards the back gate of the court.

After flinging the gates open, a resident asked if she was in purdah, which she denied and ran off with her face still covered.

One of her counsel said she wanted to avoid the harassment of journalists and people in the community.

PUNCH Metro had reported that Momoh had accumulated debts of over N18m after a bureau de change operator allegedly fled with money belonging to her Swiss creditor.

Her shop was also reportedly burgled around the time, which led to frustration and depression.

She claimed that efforts to see her pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God over her challenges did not yield fruit.

Momoh said she left her house late March and headed for the lagoon, adding that she had removed her shoes and was about to take a dive into the water when she was rescued and handed over to operatives of the Rapid Response Squad.

The police subsequently transferred the matter to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, where she was detained for three days.

The case was later charged to court.

After the first arraignment, Momoh cried out for help, saying she could not explain why she attempted suicide

Buhari’s Cabal And The Plot Against Osinbajo

By Callistus Agwaza

Of all the things President Muhammadu Buhari said at his inaugural speech on 29th May in 2015, what most Nigerians took to heart and still comes to mind readily is his famous statement “I belong to nobody and I belong to everybody”.
This was a statement of assurance that the nightmare of ‘Cabalism‘ would not be allowed a place in his government. Coming at a time the memories of the last days of former President Umaru Musa Yar’adua and the role of the cabal in destabilising the system were still fresh, Nigerians received this assurance with cheerful hearts and great delight.
To the greatest chagrin of most however, it became crystal clear that the administration is more enmeshed in cabalism than any previous administration in the country.
After barely a year in government, wife of the President Aisha Buhari was quoted to have alleged that the government was hijacked by some powerful forces who were not allowing her husband to perform optimally. At the time, the President waved it away with his infamous “my wife belongs to the kitchen and the other room”.
But as events unfold, especially with his health deteriorating very fast, the cabal is becoming more obvious and her fears crystal clear to everyone.
While the cabal has allegedly been locked in a supremacy battle over who controls the President since inception, it is only recently that the battles became obvious to the ordinary Nigerian.
The fighting between the two major cabals so far has cost the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal his seat and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) his confirmation as substantive chairman, among others.
What is now most frightening however, is the move by the cabal to make sure that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo does not make it as the President in the event that President Buhari is not able to make it back alive.
While Nigerians are praying fervently for their president to recover and return home soon, this group of people are focused on scheming how to oust the acting president and install one of theirs as the president of Nigeria, and show no genuine care about the President.
When the president traveled out earlier this year for medical attention, the plot became so tensed that the Senate President Bukola Saraki had to come out and deny knowledge of any plot to oust the acting president. Most Nigerians had their reservations but things moved on. But it did not end there.
When the SGF was suspended, he asked a fundamental question, which most analyst agree pointed to the fact that President Buhari may not be in charge of the president but is controlled by some cabal operating behind the scene.
His suspension was also alleged to have been a move by the cabal to put in place their men in strategic places to be able to perfect their scheme in the unfortunate event of the President’s demise.
Most recently, it was alleged that the cabal wanted to orchestrate a coup d’etat to take over power. Though the Chief of Army Staff General Burutai came out to deny plans by the military to take over power and to warn any military officer with such plans to discard it immediately, the threat it presents is obvious and the possibilities are glaring.
The question most Nigerians are asking is why the cabal is so desperate to ensure that the acting president never takes over as a president should circumstances call for that.
The cabal are top beneficiaries of systemic confusion and would do whatever it takes to remain politically very relevant. Comprising of some governors, security leaders and some northern elders, the cabal is said to determine major policies of the administration including who gets what appointment and who gets sacked or suspended from the government.
But beyond these–which most people consider as just a smokescreen–the cabal is said to be unraveling an Islamic agenda that the acting president would never subscribe to and would definitely frustrate should he become the substantive president.
This, according to reliable sources explained why there were no single herdsmen attacks on any part of the country throughout the period that the president was away on medical leave and the vice president Osinbajo took over in acting capacity.
While the allegations are weighty and most Nigerians would wish they were not true, some of the events in recent past give more credit to the rumors than disparage them.
It is therefore imperative that the security apparatuses step up their game to ensure that the cabal is cut to size and not allowed to throw the country into another era of total confusion and conflict for their own selfish interests.
As it stands, Nigeria is enjoying an uneasy calm with nerves quite frayed and could easily explode if triggered.
Nigerians would certainly continue to pray for the President to recover and return home soonest, but in the unfortunate, unwanted, and un-prayed-for event that this is not tenable, the constitution must be allowed to take its cause for the good and sustainability of the country.

Nursing Student Allegedly Impregnated By Lecturer Gives Birth

A former nursing student of the Ogun State College of Health Technology, Ilese Ijebu, Mosunmola,
has been delivered of a baby boy.

The 28-year-old gave birth without any complication at the General Hospital, Epe, Lagos State, on Thursday.

Punch Metro had reported that Mosunmola and her lecturer, Dr Seyi Adu, had  a sexual intercourse in a hotel sometime in August 2016.

While Mosunmola claimed that she was coerced into the relationship by Adu after she failed his course, Adu said he was seduced by the his student whom he never loved or dated.

After lecturers, the head of Adu’s department and provost of the health college tried in vain to mediate in the matter, the case was taken before the ministry of justice.

An official in the ministry was said to have brokered a deal between the parties as Adu agreed to be paying Mosunmola a monthly allowance of N5,000.

The agreement reportedly broke down in March,2017 when Mosunmola presented a list of baby items which she valued at N50,000. Adu was said to have turned down the request.

Punch correspondent reported that matters came to a head when pregnant Mosunmola, who claimed to be an orphan, confronted Adu during a lecture, which resulted in a fight.

She was said to have reported a case of assault against the lecturer at the Ilese Police Division.
Mosunmola had lamented that she was due for delivery in May, but had yet to procure baby materials.

After Punch Metro tried in vain to reach her since last Monday, a call to her phone eventually sailed through on Thursday.

After exchanging pleasantries, she told our correspondent that she was delivered of a baby boy on Thursday.

She said, “I gave birth to a baby boy this morning (Thursday) at the general hospital. It was a normal delivery without any complication. I started labour around 12am (Thursday). I first went to a herbal home, but when the traditional midwives could not handle it, they took me to the general hospital around 5am. I eventually put to bed at about 6.30am.

“The leadership of the church, where I have been, staying has shown me support. They brought food to me this morning. I cannot repay them for their help.

“I called Adu’s family members this morning to break the news to them. I also called him and he thanked me for turning him to a star. We were still talking when my phone battery went dead. I used someone’s phone to call him back and asked him to call me on that phone, but he refused. I could not charge the phone battery on time due to the power situation in my area.”

Mosunmola told Punch she owed hospital bills which totalled about N20,000, appealing for support from well-meaning Nigerians.

When a Punch correspondent called Adu, who already had two girls with his wife, and asked if he was aware of the development, he declined comment and terminated the call.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Tunde Ipaye, said the committee set up to investigate the matter had turned in its findings, adding that it was discovered that the matter had been mediated by the Citizens Right Department of the Ministry of Justice.

He said, “From investigation, we discovered that the lady was indeed a student where the lecturer taught. But when the affair started, she had finished from the school. There was disagreement between them on who was responsible for the pregnancy. The lady had claimed that another man was responsible for it, but that she needed money for her upkeep. When communication broke down between them, she insisted that the pregnancy belonged to the man.

“She went to report the case at the Citizens Rights Department, Ministry of Justice, Ijebu Ode. The office mediated with a written Memorandum of Understanding which was signed by the parties. The man agreed to be paying her N5,000 every month.

“The man has been fulfilling his part of the bargain since that time. The lady then demanded N250,000 for accommodation, which was not part of the agreement, and the man refused. He said if the baby turned out to be his, he would accept it. These are all documented.

“Although there are ethical issues, their agreement seems to have negated the ethical concerns because they have also signed the MoU and the man had accepted to take responsibility, including informing his wife.”

A top source at the General Hospital, Epe, confirmed that Mosunmola had been delivered of a baby boy.

“She was delivered of a baby this morning. It was a normal delivery and there was no problem whatsoever. Both mother and child are in good health,”he said.

N5m Bribe: Court Admits More Evidence Against Ofili-Ajumogobia

Justice O.H. Oshodi of the Lagos State High Court Ikeja, on Thursday June 1, 2017, admitted in evidence a document tendered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against a serving Federal High Court judge, Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia.

Ofili-Ajumogobia is standing trial alongside Godwin Obla, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, on a 30-count charge bordering on an alleged perversion of the course of justice, unlawful enrichment and forgery.

The defendants allegedly committed the offence on May 21, 2015, when they conspired to pervert the course of justice with the sum of N5m.

At the last adjourned sitting on May 26, 2017, counsel to the defendants had opposed the admissibility of the evidence given by a  prosecution witness, Tauheed Audu Musa, a former Deputy Comptroller General of Customs.

They had argued that the evidence given by Musa, who is the third prosecution witness, PW3, was not reflected in the charges before them and even the court.

Musa had  told the court how he was allegedly ordered by his former boss, Dikko Inde, a former Comptroller General of Customs, to give a paper containing Ofili-Ajumogobia’s Diamond Bank account details to one Musa Omale, with a directive that the sum of N12, 000, 000.00 that would be transferred to his ( Omale)’ account should be paid into Ofili-Ajumogobia's account by him.‎

However, in her ruling on the admissibility of the evidence today, Justice Oshodi over-ruled the objection raised by O. Akoni, SAN, and Robert Clarke, SAN, counsel to the first defendant, and Chief Ferdinard O. Obi, SAN, counsel to the second defendant, respectively.

Justice Oshodi ruled that “the witness cannot and should not be rejected from giving evidence in relation to the case.”

Also, in her ruling, Justice Oshodi granted leave to the defendants to seek medical treatment abroad.

Counsel to the first defendant, Akoni, had sought the leave of the court to enable his client, Ofili-Ajumogobia, who is said to be suffering from high blood pressure and stress-related issues, to travel to the US for urgent medical attention.

However, the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, had opposed the application on the grounds that Ofili-Ajumogobia might jump bail if allowed to travel outside the country for medical attention.

Ruling on the application, the judge said:  “I believe that the first defendant as a Federal High Court Judge has a lot to lose if she considers the idea of jumping bail.

“The Chief Registrar is hereby ordered to release the international passport of the first defendant to enable her travel abroad between June 7 and June13, 2017.

“The defendant must return the passport to the Chief Registrar on or before July 1, 2017.”

Justice Oshodi also granted the second defendant, Obla, leave to travel to Houston, Texas, US for medical treatment.

Obla was ordered to return his passport to the Chief Registrar on July 4, 2017.

The case was adjourned to July 6, 2017 for continuation trial.

He reportedly walked into the church, unplugged one of the standing fans from a wall socket and took it away.
One of the church workers, who had gone to clean the auditorium prior to an evening meeting, sighted the suspect coming out with the fan. The stranger’s behaviour arouse the church worker’s curiosity.

“When he was asked why he chose the church, he said he felt that members would forgive him if caught. He said that his intention was to sell the stolen fan so he can buy food to eat.

“He said in Pidgin English ‘I wan use the money buy yam, gari, rice and palm oil for house because I dey hungry ’.”

He would have been lynched but for the intervention of some church’s members. - Vanguard

Video : What Does Your Body Language Say About Your Relationships?

What we often don't think about is our relation to other people and how the ways we sit or stand can signal our inner feelings.

YouTube channel SoulPancake took body language expert Christopher Ulrich to read couples' and friends' body language, as they sat on a sofa.

They were told that they were being asked to describe how they met, but actually their body language was being watched.

Needless to say the results were surprising. For instance, if you both cross your legs towards each other in a closed circle, you're signifying closeness.

If you put your hands together in a "steeple" as you talk you can signify power and intelligence, but it can be terrible for  building relationships.

Apartment block in Egypt tilts across street

A 13-storey building in Egypt's second city Alexandria tilted across a street into another apartment block on Thursday, forcing police to evacuate it and nearby structures according to AFP report.

There were no reports of any injuries.
The municipality cut electricity and gas supplies to the residential building that was being propped by its neighbour.

The military has now been called in to demolish it.
Such incidents are relatively frequent in Egypt where building regulations are often flouted and additional floors added without planning permission.
