Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Unveils Electric Cars as Christ Embassy Enters Automotive Industry

LAGOS, Nigeria — August 19, 2026

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder and president of Christ Embassy, has unveiled a range of electric vehicles under the Tsion brand, marking an unexpected expansion of the ministry into automobile technology and manufacturing.

The vehicles were showcased during the New Economy Unveiling 2026 (NEU 2026), where several models were presented to an audience. Reports identified the lineup as including the Tsion Passion, Tsion Falcon, Vision Series, Vision Coupé and OG Series.

The unveiling has generated significant attention online, with supporters describing the development as an example of innovation and entrepreneurship beyond traditional religious activities. Pastor Bolaji Idowu, founder of Harvesters International Christian Centre, also praised the initiative, saying it demonstrated the potential for the church to contribute to areas beyond the pulpit.

The development comes as Nigeria's interest in electric vehicles continues to grow, driven partly by rising fuel costs, concerns about emissions and the search for alternative transportation technologies. Other international automotive brands have also been expanding their electric-vehicle presence in Nigeria.

However, important details about the Tsion vehicles have yet to be fully disclosed. Information concerning pricing, battery capacity, driving range, charging infrastructure, production capacity and the date when the vehicles may become commercially available remains unclear. Reports also indicate that some aspects of the vehicles were still being refined at the time of the unveiling.

The announcement has therefore raised both excitement and questions about the scale of the project and its potential impact on Nigeria's emerging electric-mobility industry.

If the vehicles progress from unveiling to large-scale production, the initiative could become an unusual example of a Nigerian religious organisation participating directly in technological innovation and industrial development.

For now, the Tsion electric vehicles have placed Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Christ Embassy at the centre of a major conversation about faith, innovation, entrepreneurship and Nigeria's automotive future.
