FAILED NATION !!! Nigeria’s existence under threat – Defence Chief raises alarm

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, has said the current security problems in Nigeria are threatening its existence.

Vanguard reports that he said this in his address at the closing ceremony of the Joint Campaign Planning Course at the Defence Intelligence College, Abuja.

The CDS represented by the Director of Training, Defence Headquarters, Air Commodore Paul Ohemu, said: “The challenges we face today threaten the corporate existence of our dear nation.
“Fighting these challenges is a collective effort and success hinges on sound planning and synergy.
“It is premised on this, that I am particularly delighted that the course, was organized and designed to address key gaps in joint operations undertaken by our Armed Forces”.
On the training, the Olonisakin noted that “The objectives of the course which among others included equipping the participants with the skills required for the integration of concepts in the planning stages of the campaigns were attained.
“It is not surprising to learn that the instructional periods provoked very fulfilling interaction among you participants on the best approaches to joint campaign planning.
“I have no doubts that you have used this opportunity to establish friendships that would engender future interactions.
“It is therefore expected that as you return to your various services headquarters, units and establishment, you would bring to bear the knowledge you have gained on the course.”

Live above religious, ethnic sentiments, clergy urges Nigerians

A cleric, Ven. Louis Ogarabe, the Cathedral Administrator, Anglican Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Umuokanne, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo, has reiterated the need for Nigerians to live above religious and ethnic considerations.
Ogarabe made the assertion on Saturday in Umuokanne, in his homily at the funeral mass in honour of late Mrs Josephine Iheanacho, mother to DSP Emeka Iheanacho,Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Nigerian Police Force, Zone 5.
The clergy who took his message from James 4 verses 13 to 17, said that Nigerians irrespective of religion and ethnicity owe it as a responsibility to one another to consciously live as brothers and sisters and eschew bitterness, rancour, jealousy and hatred just as the early Christians in the Bible days did.
He said that by so doing, the issue of insecurity and killings that had bedeviled the country lately would be a thing of the past.
“We wake up daily to the sad news of killings by suspected armed bandits in one part of the country or the other.
” But if only we can begin to live our lives like it was done by the people of old and early Christians by seeing ourselves as brothers and sisters , this issue will be a thing of the past.
“The people perpetrating these evils are taking advantage of our disunity and disagreement in one way or the other to carry out these killings,” he said.
He also said that life was like a vapour and that only God was the owner of life and as such, Nigerians must incorporate the will of God in all they do and live in accordance to the will of God.
Iheanacho, first child of the deceased in his remarks, said that man’s existence was like a seed planted which only God knows the harvest time.
He said in view of this, there was the need for man to consciously live with the knowledge that only God predetermines the existence of man.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the late Iheanacho died at the age of 72 years.

Man creeped out and confused after stranger enters house and cleans it

An American man is looking for answers after coming home to find a stranger had entered his house and cleaned it.
Nate Roman, from the US state of Massachusetts, returned home from work on May 15 to find his back door open and his house smelling of cleaning products.
There were no signs of a forced entry and a quick check revealed nothing had been stolen.
But as he walked around the house, he found his bathrooms had been scrubbed clean and his bedrooms were tidy.
"They made the beds, vacuumed the rugs, scrubbed the toilets and left [toilet-paper] roses," he said in a post on Facebook.
The intruder did not leave a note, so Mr Roman said the whole experience felt "weird" and "creepy".
"No idea what to think about this," he said.
He called the police and changed his locks, but suspects a housekeeping service may have accidentally gone to the wrong address.
"It's possible that I forgot to lock the back door. They didn't break anything while entering," he said.
"I usually forget to arm my alarm during the day … so I don't have any video, despite having cameras."

'Waiting to open a cabinet and find that creepy artefact'

Speaking to the BBC, Mr Roman said the intrusion had left him shaken.
"It was a tense couple of days, just worried … because someone was in the house," he said
"It's like I've been waiting to open a cabinet and find that creepy artefact."
But if it does turn out to be just a case of mistaken address, he said he would be glad.
"I will say the bathrooms were very well done. My son's room has never looked better," he said.
"The one thing they didn't do was clean the kitchen, which was a little disappointing."
