Senator Adeleke Died Of Drug Overdose – Source

Isiaka Adeleke, the Osun West Senator who died suddenly yesterday in Oshogbo, the Osun State capital, was killed by an overdose of painkillers administered to him by an unqualified medical technician, SaharaReporters has learned.
The Senator received the medication following complaints of serious pain in his legs at the beginning of day-long political rally and meetings.
A source at the Osun State Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital said the late Senator recently began preparations to run for governor in the state in 2018.  On Saturday, he embarked on a series of political events, before heading out to the events he was complaining to his about the pain, and a quack administered the painkillers intravenously, relieving him of the pain.
When he woke up he complained of chest pain and fatigue, shortly after telling his aides not to allow any visitors to see him he had a heart attack and was pronounced dead at Biket Hospital in Oshogbo.
Since his passing, youths in his hometown of Ede have been rioting, alleging that the Senator was poisoned to prevent him from running for governor.  The riots forced the state government to order an autopsy at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital.
SahararReporters learned that preliminary results from pathologists showed that the intravenous medication, fluid laced with a huge quantity of painkillers conspired to block his heart leading to a heart attack that killed him.

Parents jailed after toddler left unsupervised in bath drowns

The parents of a 13-month-old boy who drowned after they left him unsupervised in the bath have been jailed.

Wayne Dale and his ex-partner Lisa Passey were found guilty after trial of the manslaughter by gross negligence of Kian Dale.

Dale, 45, formerly of Kyreside in Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, was jailed at Worcester Crown Court on Monday for four-and-a-half years.

Passey, 28, also of Kyreside – where the youngster drowned – was handed a four-year sentence for her part in failing to supervise the boy.

During their two-week trial, a jury heard Passey had been sitting in the back garden enjoying the sunshine and drinking coffee with a friend, while Dale was “socialising, listening to music and using his computer".

Jonas Hankin QC, opening the prosecution’s case, said: “When, finally, Wayne Dale went upstairs to the bathroom, baby Kian had drowned.

“He was found lying over the back of the bath seat with his head and upper body immersed.”

Also shown in court was Kian’s bath seat, clearly marked: “Warning: Prevent drowning – always keep baby within arms’ reach.”

Following their sentencing, Emily Lenham, senior crown prosecutor with West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service, said: “Both defendants were fully aware that Kian, their 13-month-old child, had been left unsupervised in a bath full of water.

“This was not an isolated occurrence. During their trial, it was established that the couple routinely left Kian alone while he was in the bath.
“On this occasion, he was left for nearly 15 minutes while both parents were downstairs socialising.

“The death of Kian Dale was tragic and completely avoidable. Wayne Dale and Lisa Passey owed their son a duty of care, to protect him from harm, but they failed in that duty and due to their grossly negligent acts both were responsible for his death.”

NDLEA Searches For Lagos Socialite Over Cocaine Trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it has organized a manhunt for a Lagos socialite and suspected drug baroness wanted in connection with cocaine trafficking.

The suspect, Fumilola Arike Ogbuaya, also known as Arike Fumilola Ogundipe, allegedly was involved in smuggling 1.595kg of cocaine from Murtala Muhammed International Airport to Saudi Arabia in February 2017.

NDLEA spokesman Mitchell Ofoyeju said the agency is also investigating Mrs. Ogbuaya’s multi-billion naira assets, allegedly the proceeds of drug sales.

The anti-narcotics agency commenced investigation into Mrs. Ogbuaya after arresting one Odeyemi Omolara Morayo, also known as Ariyo Monsurat Olabisi, for drug trafficking. Investigation into Mr. Morayo implicated Mrs. Ogbuaya, according to the NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport.

He said that the NDLEA then invited the Lagos socialite in for questioning to no avail. NDLEA officers subsequently stormed her Lagos home, but the alleged drug trafficker was nowhere to be found.

“The agency is therefore investigating several landed properties worth several billions of naira traced to Mrs Fumilola Arike Ogbuaya a.k.a. Arike Fumilola Ogundipe in Lagos, Ogun and Osun States,” he said.

“The assets include Arike Plaza, some plots of land, and buildings in strategic locations. The Lagos socialite, who is a distributor of alcoholic drinks, is needed by the NDLEA in an ongoing investigation. She hails from Ilesa, Osun State.”
Impressed with the level of investigation in the ongoing case, NDLEA Chief Executive Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah has vowed to pursue the case to a logical conclusion and to trace all illicit drug proceeds.

"The agency is building capacity for elaborate investigation and this is a test case of pressing beyond a drug mule to the financiers of drug trafficking. We are determined to dislodge drug trafficking cartels and also trace their ill-gotten wealth which must be forfeited to the federal government,” Mr. Abdallah said.

He called on members of the public with information as to the whereabouts of Mrs. Ogbuaya to report to the nearest NDLEA office.
The NDLEA boss noted that asset forfeiture was an important requirement in the NDLEA Act and assured that no stone would be left unturned in the race for the total incapacitation of drug traffickers.

See Drunken FRSC Officers Caught Sleeping On Duty

Some officials of The Federal Road Safety Corps will face disciplinary action after they were captured at a filling station sleeping after consuming bottles of beer.

The FB user who posted the photos said the incident happened Thursday at Tarzan Junction, Npkor in Anambra State. He alleged that the men drank 15 bottles of beer before sleeping off.
Below is how people are reaction to the photos...

One Baba Mshelia, said, “Let them enjoy their sleep after enjoying cold beers because even some of our senators slumber during plenary and nobody sanctions them. So, they should not be scapegoats.”
Albert Onyeacho said, “What kind of uniform personnel is Nigeria producing? If not FRSC, it is the police or army, they are always drinking on duty. This is a wrong precedent; the government should please look into the bad behaviour of these officers and proper disciplinary action should be taken against them.”
Yusufu Termen, said the scene appeared like a blackmail. He said, “The pictures are not showing that they were the ones that drank the bottles. The bottles are not in front of them or in their hands or mouths. The bottles look like bottles that have been laying there for some hours. They can’t all finish their drinks at the same time and start sleeping at the same time. So, to me, the pictures are only showing a tired people who found a shed to rest after a hard work and are taking a nap to revitalise their systems.”
Another poster, Emmanuel Jackson, said even if the men did not take the drinks, they were wrong for sleeping on duty. He said, “I am not in support of blackmail, but sleeping on duty in uniform is unacceptable and a demotion of the gallant men and women of the uniform group. Those officers should be sent to the guardroom as punishment.”

The Sector Commander, FRSC, Anambra, Mr. Ajayi Sunday, said the command was aware of the photos, adding that the men had been identified and would face disciplinary action.

He said, “I am aware and their action is against the ethics of the corps; we won’t tolerate that. It is an administrative issue. Disciplinary action will be taken against them. They will have the opportunity to defend themselves during the process.”

17 year old Boy makes hundreds of thousands of pounds selling his own socks

Seventeen-year-old Brennan Agranoff has been a CEO since the age of 13, when he founded his own custom socks company, HoopSwagg.

While you were completing your simultaneous equations homework or watching an episode of the Fresh Prince, Agranoff was building his business, and in just four years he has managed to amass annual sales of over $1 million (£780,213).

According to CNN, in 2013 he had been watching a basketball game when he noticed that all the players’ socks were the same plain white.

He wondered what it would be like if he were to print custom designs on them, and decided to present his plan to his parents, who, after some persuasion, gave him a $3,000 (£2,340).

Following that initial burst of inspiration, he spent six months researching, and eventually set up his business in his garage.

He purchased many pairs of white socks, and used design printing and heat presser machines to create his initial designs.

The tipping point for the business came after its first year when, through the use of social media he and a group of social influencers, he increased his reach – and therefore clientele.

Now, his mother is part of the business, and he employs 17 other part-time employees.

Oshiomhole, Mamora Considered for SGF

Based on Yemi Osinbajo-led panel probing the allegations of financial impropriety against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir David Lawal, indicts him, either the former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, or former Deputy Senate Minority Leader, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, may clinch the top-ranking cabinet post, THISDAY has learnt,

Both men are said to be on a shortlist that is currently before President Muhammadu Buhari, as the Osinbajo panel kicks off the investigation into the management of funds meant for humanitarian assistance in the North-east.

Lawal and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ayo Oke, were sent home by Buhari  last week over their respective involvement in the alleged mismanagement of the funds allocated to the Presidential Initiative on the North-east (PINE) and the discovery of N13.3 billion in an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos, penultimate week.

The president also set up a panel headed by Vice-President Osinbajo, with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd), and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), as members to probe the suspended officials.

However, before the panel concludes its findings and submits its reports, THISDAY learnt from sources in the presidency that a shortlist was already being considered for Lawal’s replacement in the event of his indictment.

Lawal, who oversaw the management of PINE in his capacity as SGF, was alleged to have awarded a N220 million tree-cutting contract to his company, Rholavision Engineering Limited, in contravention of public sector rules barring government officials from awarding contracts to companies in which they have an interest.

Speaking on the development, a reliable presidency source said: “The general belief is that Babachir Lawal may not survive the findings of the probe panel, so a shortlist has been drawn up.
“Two names featured prominently on the list. They are Adams Oshiomhole and Olorunnimbe Mamora.”
The source recalled that Buhari had on the expiration of the tenure of Oshiomhole in November last year, told the former labour leader that he deserved a federal appointment, having in his estimation done well as a two-term governor of Edo State.
