A pregnant teenager, Monalisa Perez, has shot and killed her boyfriend – Pedro Ruiz – when the two tried to film a YouTube video for fame.
Perez, who already had a 3-year-old daughter at the age of 19, was charged on Wednesday with manslaughter at the Norman County District Court in Minnesota, USA.
According to the police, Ruiz reportedly persuaded his pregnant girlfriend to fire at a book held to his chest in the belief that the book would catch the bullet.
However, when Perez fired the 50 caliber handgun, it ended up striking the 22-year-old, while the couple’s daughter watched on.
Ruiz was pronounced dead at the scene.
However, his aunt – Claudia Ruiz – told the media that the couple have been trying to create Youtube videos that will make them become viral stars; and so, progressively upped the ante with their deadly stunts.
“He had told me about an idea. I said, ‘Don’t do it, don’t do it. Why are you going to use a gun? Why?’ Because, we want more viewers,”‘ she narrated.

Samsung is going to re-launch the smartphone that it recalled and ultimately discontinued last year.
The new device is called the Galaxy Note 7 FE — the FE stands for Fandom Edition — and will launch on July 7 beginning in South Korea, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Samsung had to ultimately discontinue manufacturing of the Galaxy Note 7 after smartphones around the world continued to catch fire. The issue was ultimately blamed on faulty batteries. The Galaxy Note FE will have "different components" The Wall Street Journal said.
It's not yet clear if the Galaxy Note 7 FE will also re-launch in the United States. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected in late summer, around August or September, when Samsung typically unveils its new Galaxy Note smartphone.
A Samsung spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
A baby born mid-flight from Fort Lauderdale to Dallas Saturday night is now continuing his journey west with his family, only this time by car, CBS Miami reports.
The plane was diverted to New Orleans after his mom went into labor four weeks ahead of schedule and delivered her baby on a Spirit Airlines flight Saturday night.
Cristina Penton showed off baby Christoph after they were released from a hospital in New Orleans.
"Within 10-15 minutes of takeoff, I felt something wasn't fine…contractions came every five minutes and they started coming pretty regularly," said Penton.
A fellow passenger recorded the delivery, which went very quickly. The Spirit crew asked if any medical professionals were on board.
A pediatrician came to help, and nurse Rhondula Green helped tie up the baby's umbilical cord.
"He just popped out, literally, so we just kind of like caught him," said Green.
Penton was traveling with her two pre-teen children from Fort Lauderdale to Dallas on their way to Arizona for vacation.
"It was scary and exciting at the same time," said Penton's daughter Lulu.
Penton said her husband, who didn't travel with the family, was relieved to hear the baby is OK, but did tell his wife "I told you so" for traveling at 36 weeks.
"He told me you're pushing it, you're doing it last-minute and maybe you shouldn't. But then again, stubborn, so I figured, no, no, we can handle this," said Penton.
Spirit Airlines gave the family gifts for the baby, plus a special present – free flights on his birthday, for life.
Baby Christoph weighed in at 7 pounds and measured 19 and a half inches. He is healthy, but because the baby's immune system is still so new, they are now continuing their trip to Phoenix by car instead of plane to try to avoid germs.
It is a great honour for someone to ask you to be in their wedding party, but for some bridesmaids, the experience can involve far more stress than fun (like the unlucky bridesmaid who was asked to dye her hair, because ginger was not in the colour scheme).
On this occasion, an Australian bridesmaid – who calls herself Hayley – wrote about her experience on Mamamia.com , saying that she was initially 'overjoyed' when her friend Caroline asked her to be part of her wedding party. However, her 'joy quickly turned to utter despair' when the bride began getting obsessive about every aspect of her nuptials – from the buttonholes for the groomsmen to the table decorations.
The bride then asked her unfortunate bridesmaid to make an Excel document of cake-maker suggestions – including the pricing, contact information, flavours and 'prestige' level - which she wanted later that same day.
'Hey Hayley, How's it going?' the first email goes. 'I need some cake-maker suggestions by COB [close of business] today please, Jase and I really want to get a wriggle on with this and need the contact details, price brackets, flavours and an idea of how prestigious the vendor is – in a table would be great. Excel is probably best please. Thanks!'
Hayley, who is a school teacher and therefore quite busy, complied when she had time the following day, apologising for taking a little longer than was originally requested - something the bride did not seem to appreciate.
'On Saturday morning, I cancelled my breakfast plans, instead researching Tasmanian wedding-cake makers (she'd decided to have a picturesque destination wedding) that might be suitable. I sent it through to her and had a reply almost immediately. "Thanks for this, would've been really helpful to have it yesterday when specified, but I appreciate it."'
The bride also insisted on shopping for three consecutive weekends to find the perfect wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses - a lot of time to ask of seven friends to dedicate to your special day. Those they found for the bridesmaids were $550 (about £399) each, very little in comparison with the price of Caroline's gown.
She selected a beautiful designer wedding dress, but it was priced at $10,500 (about £7,615), which was twice the amount allotted in her budget. The other bridesmaids told her to 'totally splurge', which she did... Only to later request that they 'pitch in' for her 'dream dress'. Her reasoning? It would be a sentimental treasure that all the bridesmaids would have a part in if they paid for it.
'That night, my inbox pinged again with another of the group emails from Caroline that I'd started to dread,' Hayley recalls. 'The subject line was "Bridesmaid dress contribution" and it made me break out into a cold sweat. The latest bridal update was a long email outlining how she and Jase were hugely over their bridal budget now that she'd splurged on the dress. That it was "totally fine if you can't" but she would really love if we could "pitch in" around AU$150 (£89) each towards her "dream dress". That it'd mean so very much to her and would mean that as she walked down the aisle, she'd be wearing something we'd all had a part in.'
The author goes on to explain how she felt enraged by the request. Three of the seven bridesmaids have already stated that they are happy to chip in for the dress, but the disenchanted writer was not so willing to contribute. In fact, she says that she is starting to think she may 'have to bail on this wedding – and friendship'. To be honest, it sounds like her bank account and sanity would thank her.
Just when we thought we were feeling a bit smug with ourselves for always have a bottle of water on the Tube and that like we're told, we've been hit with the terrifying news that getting our recommended amount of H2O might be super, super unhealthy.
Yep, while most of us are guilty of holding on to a plastic bottle for longer than probably necessary (hey, there's no shame in wanting people to think you drink Fiji every day), it turns out that the containers you're refilling contain so many germs you might as well lick your toilet.
LICK. YOUR. TOILET. What fresh hell is this?
Treadmillreviews tested refilled water bottles that had been used by an athlete for a week, and in stats provided to Metro revealed that the highest number of bacteria found on one bottle contained over 900,000 colony forming units per square cm on average - aka more than your standard toilet seat.
And worse still, researchers found that a whopping 60% of the germs found were capable of making you sick - meaning that if you've been randomly under the weather lately, you may have just found the culprit.
But that's not all. As well as the fact it's clearly disgustingly unhygienic, Good Housekeeping have discovered there are a bunch of nasty chemicals from the plastic which get released as it breaks down with frequent use.
Dr Marilyn Glenville PhD told the magazine these chemicals "can have effects on every system in our bodies". Oh, joy.
"They can affect ovulation, and increase our risk of hormonally driven problems like PCOS, endometriosis and breast cancer, among other things," he said.
Instead of reusing the plastic bottles, it's best to drink from them once and then recycle, but if you must refill your plastic one, then Dr Glenville advises to buy BPA-free plastic bottles, and to avoid rinsing them in very hot water, because this encourages the chemicals to release at a staggering 55 times faster than normal.
Or you could just do the sensible thing and buy one of those Love Island water bottles. That would save you a whole load of fuss. - Cosmopolitan
Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has seemingly ruled out signing Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez by claiming that his side must focus on building around youth, rather than experience.
The Bundesliga champions have been heavily linked with a potential move for the Chilean in recent months, although Manchester City appear to be in the driving seat to secure his signature.
Pep Guardiola’s side may have a clearer run at the attacker than first thought, though, with Hoeness insistent that Bayern continue their strategy of buying young players.
"Everyone is talking about building a new team and how Bayern Munich's future must be shaped," he told Kicker.
"And then Bayern does exactly that - signs young players between 20 and 22 - and is criticised once again."
He added, alluding to rumours of interest in Arsenal's Alexis: "But you can't build a new team with €100 million transfers for 29 and 30-year-olds. That isn't a policy.
"Either we go down this road with all these young players, all getting a chance to play, or we don't go down this road."
Bayern have already secured Corentin Tolisso, Kingsley Coman, Niklas Sule and Serge Gnabry this summer – all four players are 21 or 22 – along with Sebastian Rudy.
"I fully support what's been done so far - it's highly satisfactory and it all makes sense,”
Hoeness said. “Sule, Rudy, Gnabry and Tolisso are players with huge potential for the future.
"As chairman of the supervisory board I'm very pleased with our transfer policy up until now because it was implemented with great care.
"I said that if we wanted to strengthen this team then we had to buy the very best players. And to get them is difficult enough. In no way was I saying we would do this.
"I only wanted to point out that we have a very good team and if you want to strengthen, you have to spend a huge amount of money and you still don't have any guarantee of winning the Champions League.
"If we wanted to buy our way to the Champions League title, we would have to throw a lot of money at it. I don't think anything at all of alibi signings, we've spoken about this internally."
