The man tweeted the image of himself wearing mirrored Aviators which show the reflection of his hands on the steering wheel as he drives on what appears to be a dual carriageway.
Matthew Clements, an officer from Northumbria Police tweeted: "Just to keep everyone current on the situation... It is people like this who end up destroying people lives through their own stupidity".
The man, Pete Hemsley, whose Twitter handle is @Geordie_Aviator, captioned the image, "Last night as a single man. Married tomorrow. Scary times. Can't wait to marry my princess @geordieprincess so beautiful".
When the police tweeted "Please get in touch and we'll send you your wedding present. £200 fine & 6 points." he responded by deleting his Twitter account. - Independent.ie
