A minivan was swallowed by a gigantic sinkhole as a road caved in amid heavy rainfall.
Shocking footage captures the vehicle falling into the hole as a massive road caved in on Saturday in Nantong, in east China's Jiangsu province.
The silver van is seen laying on its side in the ditch, as water gushes in from burst pipes.
The video also shows large chunks of the road and pavement collapsing in a scene of absolute destruction.
A tree was "engulfed" by the hole said to be 9m long and 3m wide.
Onlookers stood on the opposite side of the road, watching from afar.Police rushed to the scene and thankfully no casualties have been reported.
The local government filled in the hole within 24 hours and the reason for the incident is under investigation.
People were shocked to see the scale of the sinkhole when the video was shared online.
Writing on Facebook, Jan Neels said: "How did they fill that in one night?"
Others criticised the infrastructure.
A Twitter user named Global Citizen said: "China's infrastructure and its manufactured goods are doomed to fail." - Mirror
