Native doctor arrested for allegedly selling 5-year-old for N60,000

The police command in Lagos state have arrested a 57-year-old native doctor, Tunde Ajibolorunsoro, aka professor, for allegedly abducting a five-year-old girl in the Meiran area of the state.

The man is said to have sold the victim, Aishat Muyideen, to his neighbour, Tajudeen Makanjuola, who is also a herbalist, for N60,000.
It was gathered that Aishat went missing on Wednesday, September 25, 2017.

Lagos Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi, disclosed that the professor led police operatives to arrest Makanjuola.
He said, ‘’they had engaged in a number of child kidnapping before luck ran out on them.
“The suspects specialize in kidnapping and selling children.”
But, the suspects denied the allegation, saying he was tortured by the police to confess to the crime, a claim the police command has dismissed.

The native doctor said, ‘’they tortured me to the extent that I didn’t know when I confessed that I stole the child and sold her to Oluwo.”

The 65-year-old neighbor identified as Olowo, who allegedly bought the girl said he had no hand in the disappearance of the girl, noting that he was arrested after the professor “was forced to confess.”

Olowo disclosed that; “This man (professor) had said he was tortured to confess and that was why he mentioned me. If I know anything about this matter, I should die mysteriously. I am an herbalist in Meiran. I only know professor as a neighbour.”
