Billionaire Saudi prince freed after two months in detention
Alwaleed bin Talal, a prominent member of Saudi Arabia’s royal family, has been freed after two and a half months in detention.

According to New York Times, two close associates of bin Talal confirmed his release on Saturday.
In November, the billionaire prince who has stakes in Twitter, Lyft and other international companies was arrested amid a crackdown on corruption and held at Ritz-Carlton.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman also had 10 princes, four ministers and a number ex-ministers detained.
Earlier in 2017, the king removed Mohammed bin Nayef as head of the interior ministry and placed him under house arrest.

By this action, Salman extended the crown prince’s influence over the interior ministry’s troops which is as good as a second armed force.
It is believed that the arrests made by the king are to consolidate the power of Mohammed bin Salam, his son and crown prince. - Cable Nigeria
