8 persons feared dead as two vehicles plunge into river in Delta


No fewer than eight persons on Saturday reportedly lost thier lives after two vehicles plunged into a deep river along the ever-busy NPA Expressway by Ekpan Community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

DAILY POST learnt that the a commercial bus and an SUV were involved in the mishap.
It was gathered that the driver of the SUV rammed into the commercial bus whose driver was about picking up a passenger when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Aftermath of the ramming led to both vehicles plunging into a deep river along the road, leaving eight persons dead instantly.
It took the intervention of sympathisers as well as officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, Ekpan Divisional Headquarters to recover the corpses and evacuated the vehicles from the scene of incident.
Contacted, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, in a text message to our Correspondent said, “Sorry, I have a meeting.”
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Anthony Michael Ogbizi did not pick nor return calls put across to his him.
