Ryan Patton, 21, of Brinnington, and Kyle Bond, 19, of Reddish, first met their victim, near McColl's newsagents, on Mersey Square, in Stockport , on July 1 last year. They threatened him and stole £20 before running off.
But Minshull Crown Court heard later that evening the victim saw Patton and Bond again near Stockport bus station and asked for his money back. They threatened him again and insisted he get in their car, before driving him to his home in High Lane.
Once inside Patton, of Wiltshire Avenue, became aggressive and pulled out a knife, while Bond tied him to a radiator.
The victim, who was in his 20s, was left with suspected nose and cheekbone fractures after he was held at knifepoint and repeatedly punched.

Bond was jailed for five and a half years having previously pleaded guilty to the same offences.
Det Con Jane Dodd, of Stockport police, said: “This victim was subjected to a horrific and prolonged attack in his own home, which is somewhere he should feel safe.
“The level of violence used was abhorrent and both men are now behind bars for their actions.”
After the attack the pair ransacked the property, stealing his car which they escaped in. But both were arrested when they crashed into parked cars on Mayorlowe Avenue, Brinnington.
Several hours later the victim managed to escape and went to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which also included bruising and swelling - but his eye was miraculously not damaged.
Bond had also admitted aggravated vehicle taking and cannabis possession.
Patton also pleaded guilty to these offences, as well assault occasioning actual bodily harm and theft of jewellery and clothing.
At the time of the attack, on July 1 last year, Patton was serving an 18-month conditional discharge for his part in a racist attack on an Asian man in Stockport centre.
He admitted causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress after he was heard ‘aggressively’ boasting his friend had "proper smashed the P*** bastard".
The victim was mental health nurse Qaiser Hamid, from Heaton Norris.
