Passengers on an Arik Air flight from Lagos to Kaduna panicked on Saturday afternoon as the aircraft developed technical problems when it was about taking off.
The Boeing 707 flight was meant to convey passengers to Kaduna and Jos when the incident happened at 3:15pm.
The passengers accused the airline of inefficiency and not checking the plane before allowing passengers board it.
They, however, thanked God that the technical problem occurred before take-off.
The plane had cruised on the runway of the Murtala Muhammed airport, Lagos, for at least 20 minutes before the pilot announced the glitch.
“I am sorry the plane has technical problems that need to be rectified,” he announced as he turned back to the tarmac.
The passengers were asked to disembark and return to the departure hall and wait for further directives.
About an hour later, another plane was assigned to Kaduna passengers, while those of Jos stayed behind.
