Lyon expect Lacazette to stay

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas does not think in-demand striker Alexandre Lacazette will leave the club for Arsenal this summer.

Aulas had said earlier this week that he would not let Lacazette leave the Ligue 1 club until someone offered their £57m valuation and gave him time to find a replacement.

But his comments to Canal Plus on Tuesday night suggested the need for Lyon to find an additional might not come until the January window.
Aulas also said Lyon's interest in Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, who has been linked with a move back to France, had not yet gone any further than that.

In an interview with the French broadcaster, Aulas said: "I do not think that Alexandre Lacazette will leave this summer.
"I do not have anything to say about Olivier Giroud. We're interested. Things haven't advanced."

Lacazette had previously been expected to join Atletico Madrid and Aulas said that move could be back on the cards once the Spanish side's transfer ban concludes in January.

Pressed further about that move, Aulas simply said: "It's possible."
