Real Madrid star, Martin Odegaard, is set for a two-season loan spell at Real Sociedad, after the Bernabeu decided to renew the Norwegian’s contract until 2023.
The young midfielder spent last season on loan with Vitesse in Holland, and is now set to return to Spain to continue gaining valuable top-flight experience at Sociedad.
AS.com reports that Odeegard, who returned to Madrid to sign a two-season extension to his current deal at the Bernabéu, will head north to begin the pre-season with the Sociedad on a two-year loan.
However, several details need to be ironed out between the two clubs regarding Odeegard’s loan agreement, one of them being whether the player will be excluded from playing for Sociedad against Real Madrid in LaLiga and cup competitions during his stay at the Anoeta Stadium.
The 20-year-old loanee playmaker had an impressive experience with Vitesse last season, during which he played 39 games, scoring 11 goals and 12 assists.
