Aregbesola: “I Have Never Slept With Another Woman Since I Got Married”

Former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has reportedly spoken about his marital life, saying he has remained faithful to his wife since their marriage.

Aregbesola was quoted as saying, “I have never slept with another woman since I got married,” a statement that has attracted attention amid growing public conversations about marriage, fidelity and family values.

The reported comment highlights the former governor’s personal position on marital commitment and the importance he places on remaining faithful within marriage.

Aregbesola, who served as governor of Osun State from 2010 to 2018 before becoming Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, has remained a prominent figure in Nigerian politics.

His reported declaration has sparked reactions, with some Nigerians praising the importance of loyalty and commitment in marriage, while others have called for greater context surrounding the statement.

The issue of marital fidelity remains a subject of intense discussion in Nigerian society, where traditional, religious and cultural values continue to shape expectations surrounding relationships and family life.

25-Year-Old Man Shot Dead While Dropping Girlfriend Off at London Pub

LONDON — A 25-year-old man has been shot dead outside a pub in south London while reportedly dropping his girlfriend off, in a shocking incident that has sparked a murder investigation.

Police and emergency services were called to Landor Road, Clapham, shortly before 10pm on Monday, August 10, following reports of gunfire near the Landor pub.

Officers found the 25-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the rapid response from paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported hearing several loud bangs, with one resident describing the sounds as being similar to fireworks. The shooting reportedly caused panic among people in the area, with witnesses describing scenes of screaming and crying as emergency services arrived.

According to reports, the victim had been dropping his girlfriend off at the pub when he was attacked. Some witnesses have suggested that the shooting may have involved mistaken identity, although police have not confirmed a motive and the circumstances remain under investigation.

A 22-year-old man later attended hospital with a gunshot wound and was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in hospital while enquiries continue.

Police have cordoned off parts of Landor Road and surrounding streets as forensic officers examine the scene and gather evidence. Investigators are also examining a vehicle believed to have been connected to the victim.

The London Ambulance Service said its crews arrived within around three minutes of receiving the emergency call. A trauma team from London's Air Ambulance was also sent to the scene, but the victim could not be saved.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, including residents who may have CCTV, doorbell-camera footage or mobile-phone recordings from the area at the time of the shooting, to come forward.

The death has left friends, relatives and members of the local community devastated, while police have increased their presence in the area as the investigation continues.

Police have urged anyone with information to assist detectives as they work to establish exactly what happened and why the young man was targeted.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the arrested man has not been convicted of any offence.

🔥 M25 CLOSED AFTER MAJOR INDUSTRIAL BLAZE SENDS THICK SMOKE ACROSS MOTORWAY

HERTFORDSHIRE, UK — Tuesday, 11 August 2026

A major industrial fire broke out at a commercial site in Ventura Park, near St Albans, Hertfordshire, this morning, sending a huge plume of thick smoke across the M25 and causing significant disruption for motorists.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the blaze was reported at an industrial/warehouse facility. The intensity of the fire prompted authorities to close the M25 in both directions between Junction 22 (St Albans) and Junction 21A (Bricket Wood) as a precaution because of the smoke and concerns about a potential explosion risk.

The large smoke plume could be seen from considerable distances, with commuters reporting severely reduced visibility around the motorway.

Firefighters from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service have been working to bring the blaze under control, while traffic authorities have urged motorists to avoid the affected stretch of the M25 and use alternative routes.

Residents and people working close to the industrial area have also been advised to keep windows and doors closed while smoke remains in the area.

At the time of reporting, details about the cause of the fire and whether anyone has been injured had not been fully confirmed.

The motorway closure is expected to cause substantial delays, particularly during the morning rush hour, as drivers are diverted onto surrounding roads.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation, and motorists are being advised to check the latest traffic information before travelling through the area.

This is a developing story. Further details are expected as emergency services assess the scene.

HUMANITY BEFORE ANYTHING

In a world where money, power, politics, religion, status and personal interests often take centre stage, there is one principle we must never forget:

Humanity comes before everything.

Before political parties, we are human beings.

Before religion, we are human beings.

Before nationality, tribe or ethnicity, we are human beings.

Before wealth and social status, we are human beings.

We may speak different languages, worship differently, come from different backgrounds and hold different opinions, but beneath all those differences is the same human dignity.

Put People Before Profit

Money is important, but no amount of wealth should make us lose compassion.

Success means very little if it is achieved by exploiting, humiliating or destroying others. Businesses should make profits, but people should never become mere numbers on a balance sheet.

Profit should serve humanity—not replace it.

Put Compassion Before Judgment

We often see someone's circumstances without knowing their story.

The person struggling today may have fought battles we know nothing about. The person who made a mistake may be trying desperately to rebuild their life.

Before judging, listen.

Before condemning, understand.

Before rejecting, remember that everyone is capable of making mistakes.

A little kindness can sometimes change a person's entire life.

Humanity Before Politics

Politics should be about improving people's lives—not creating enemies.

Leadership should not be measured only by speeches, promises or political victories. It should be measured by whether ordinary people can live with dignity, access quality education and healthcare, find meaningful opportunities and feel safe in their communities.

A nation is successful when its people matter.

Humanity Before Religion

Faith should inspire love, compassion, forgiveness and service.

If our religious beliefs make us hate people simply because they believe differently, then we have missed one of the most important lessons of humanity.

We can disagree without dehumanising one another.

We can defend our beliefs without destroying another person's dignity.

The World Needs More Humanity

Technology is advancing. Artificial intelligence is becoming more powerful. Cities are growing and economies are changing.

But none of these things matter if humanity loses its heart.

We need more people willing to help without expecting something in return.

More leaders who listen.

More communities that protect the vulnerable.

More people who speak up when others are being mistreated.

More kindness in our homes, workplaces and societies.

Because at the end of the day, we are not remembered only for what we owned or how powerful we became. We are remembered for how we treated people.

A Simple Reminder

Before you insult someone, remember they have feelings.

Before you discriminate against someone, remember they deserve dignity.

Before you exploit someone's weakness, remember that life can change unexpectedly.

Before you celebrate another person's downfall, remember that tomorrow could be your turn to need compassion.

And before you ask what the world owes you, ask yourself:

“What can I do to make the world better for another human being?”

Humanity is bigger than politics.

Humanity is bigger than money.

Humanity is bigger than status.

Humanity is bigger than borders.

Humanity is bigger than our differences.

Let us choose people over prejudice, compassion over cruelty, integrity over greed, and unity over division.

Because when everything else is stripped away, our humanity is what remains.

HUMANITY BEFORE ANYTHING.

Be kind. Be fair. Be compassionate. Stand up for people.

The world does not need more powerful people.

It needs more humane people.

🚨 CONTROVERSY ERUPTS OVER ALLEGED OIL BLOCK AWARDS INVOLVING NNPCL BOSS BAYO OJULARI

Abuja, Nigeria — August 11, 2026

A fresh controversy has erupted in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector following allegations that some oil blocks were awarded to individuals described as friends and associates of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari.

The allegations were raised by the Oil & Gas Professionals Forum (OGPF), which has questioned the transparency of recent marginal-field awards and called for greater scrutiny of transactions involving Nigeria’s petroleum assets. The group reportedly maintained that two oil blocks benefited individuals connected to Ojulari.

The claims have triggered renewed debate over transparency, accountability and the management of Nigeria’s oil resources, which remain among the country's most valuable national assets.

According to reports, the OGPF has accused NNPCL and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) of failing to adequately address concerns surrounding the allocation process. The group has also called for investigations into alleged insider influence in the award of marginal fields.

NNPCL RESPONDS

NNPCL has rejected the accusations and pushed back against calls for the removal of its leadership, describing the claims as misleading and diversionary. The company has maintained that the appropriate regulatory processes govern oil and gas asset awards.

The dispute therefore remains a matter of competing claims, with no independent finding establishing that Ojulari personally directed oil blocks to friends or associates.

WHY THE ALLEGATIONS MATTER

Nigeria has spent years battling concerns over corruption, opaque dealings and inadequate accountability in the petroleum sector. Questions surrounding who receives access to oil assets are particularly sensitive because such resources belong to the Nigerian state and can generate significant revenue.

Critics argue that if influential individuals or their associates receive preferential treatment in the allocation of petroleum assets, it could undermine public confidence, discourage genuine investors and reinforce perceptions that Nigeria's natural resources are controlled through connections rather than transparent competition.

For the NNPCL and petroleum regulators, the controversy represents another test of their commitment to transparency under Nigeria's Petroleum Industry Act framework.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The allegations could intensify calls for an independent review of the disputed oil-block awards, including publication of the beneficiaries, bidding criteria, evaluation processes and ownership structures of successful applicants.

For many Nigerians, the central question is simple:

Were the oil blocks awarded through a transparent and competitive process — or did personal connections influence the outcome?

Until documentary evidence or an independent investigation establishes what happened, the allegations against Ojulari and other officials remain unproven claims.

Nigeria’s oil sector now faces renewed pressure to demonstrate that the country’s petroleum resources are being managed openly, fairly and in the national interest.
