Arsenal enter discussions with Onyekuru
Arsenal are in talks to sign promising Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru from Eupen, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The 19-year-old striker has been in sublime form out in Belgium this season and has netted a quite staggering total of 24 goals in just 41 appearances. He has also chipped in with an impressive 14 assists in what has been his breakthrough campaign at senior level.
At a lowly sum of just £6.8m, Onyekuru is undoubtedly an affordable acquisition for the Gunners if they choose to pursue a deal, but they won’t be without competition this summer.
Southampton had emerged as the leading suitors for the Nigerian youngster, while Premier League rivals Everton, West Brom and Crystal Palace have all been touted with interest as well.
Onyekuru is clearly a player with potential and given his season out in Belgium, there’s no surprise to see Arsenal keen.
