Jose Mourinho launches £70 million bid for Bellotti

Manchester United have made a £70 million offer to Torino for wanted striker Andrea Belotti, according to a report in Turin-based paper Tuttosport.

Tuttosport claim that United have representatives in Italy informing the Serie A side of Jose Mourinho’s interest in the forward.
United’s offer for Belotti could indicate that the club are exploring alternative options for a striker other than Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

The forward impressed last season, netting 25 times in 35 appearances during the campaign.
Belotti’s release clause is at £88 million and only applies to teams outside of Italy.

Torino president Urbano Cairo stated to reporters in Milan on Thursday, “I have no intention of selling him, but if someone brings the €100m then I would have to let him go.”

Mourinho continues his search for a forward with rumours circulating that the club will not offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new deal to stay at Old Trafford.
