Neighbours notice death of family of six 4 days after in Rivers

A family of six have perished along Salvation Ministries Road, Rumuosi community in Obio-Akpor, Local government area of Rivers state.

DAILY POST gathered that the family including a man, his wife and four children were reportedly killed after inhaling fumes from a generator.

In the meantime, the Rivers state Police Command has confirmed that the family of six were killed by generator fumes.
Spokesman of the Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni told newsmen that the incident happened since Friday without the notice of the neighbours.

Omoni said the decomposing bodies of the victims were discovered four days after the incident, adding that the corpses have been deposited at a mortuary.

The Police spokesman said, “We were told they were killed by generator fumes but we won’t stop there. We will investigate what actually happened but for now all we can say is that people should stop keeping generators close to their homes.”
