Transgender dad, 21, becomes first in Britain to give birth after finding sperm donor on Facebook

A 21-year-old man has become the first in Britain to give birth after finding a sperm donor on Facebook.

Hayden Cross, who was born Paige and raised as a girl, has been living as man for more than three years and taking hormones.
He had intended on freezing his eggs in the hope of having children later in life.

But when NHS chiefs refused, he decided to pause his transition in the hope of getting pregnant.
In January, he announced he had been successful after finding an anonymous sperm donor via a Facebook group.
And now Hayden, a former ASDA worker, has spoken of his pride after giving birth to a baby girl Trinity-Leigh via a C-section

He told The Sun: "She’s perfect in every way.
"She is so good. I’m so lucky."
Hayden, from Gloucester, said he'd found pregnancy difficult, having only just started to feel comfortable with his body as a result of gender transitioning.

He has been living legally as a man since the age of 18.
He added: "It’s like I have given myself one thing, but taken away something else.
"It’s a very female thing to carry a baby and it goes against everything I feel in my body."
Hayden is currently unemployed but says he will go back to work as soon as he's ready to provide for his child.

Thomas Beatie became the first man to give birth in the US in 2008.
Born a woman, he had a partial sex change but kept his womb and was able to conceive.
He now has three children; Susan, eight, Austin, seven and Jensen, six.  - Mirror
