Transfer news : Conte trying to persuade Chelsea to sign Ivan Perisic

FC Internazionale v FC Crotone - Serie A

Frustrated by his club’s transfer activity this summer, Antonio Conte is at loggerheads with the Chelsea board regarding another of his top targets.

The Times claim that Conte is desperate for the club to sign Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic this summer to improve their wide options, but is struggling to convince the club to sanction a move for the Croat.
Chelsea have made a concerted effort to sign younger first-team players with strong re-sale values and all three major additions to the squad are aged 24 or younger, fitting that template.

Conte is frustrated by the club’s dithering attempts to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton and Alex Sandro from Juventus, both 26, because of this philosophy employed by the club in the transfer market.
Valued at £50m, Perisic has also been linked with Manchester United and is considered a top target of Conte’s, but as it stands, the club will not make a move for him unless Conte can convince them otherwise.

Perisic is 28 and is unlikely to have a strong re-sale value when the time comes for the Blues to move on from the former Wolfsburg man, which is an issue for the club when it comes to sanctioning a move to sign him - Read Sport
