PL : Antonio Conte urges Chelsea to keep fighting

Manchester United v Chelsea - Premier League

Chelsea boss Conte has issued a rallying cry to his players ahead of their clash with West Ham.

It’s been a difficult season for the Blues, with Conte’s men sat in fifth place on the Premier League table and unlikely to challenge Tottenham Hotspur for their place in the top four.

Chelsea have endured some testing times this season but their manager has called on the players to show the fighting spirit required to succeed. As quoted by the club’s official website, Conte demanded that his players refuse to give up in the run-in towards the end of the season.

“They must work, continue to work, and try to put everything in every day to help change the situation. The players play the game, not the coach. The coach can prepare, but then the players go on the pitch to fight with the right desire and pride and will to win the game.”

However, Conte is clearly focusing his attention towards the task at hand and is looking to help Chelsea to a positive end to the season.
“We are Chelsea, and when you play or you are a coach for this type of club, you must show great pride until the end and don’t give up. Don’t give up. It’s my philosophy. I don’t want to see one person giving up.”
The former Italy manager’s future is under intense scrutiny at this stage, with the likes of Massimiliano Allegri and Luis Enrique linked with moves to become the next Chelsea manager.
