Real Madrid are still interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois according to reports, with the Blues valuing their player at €50million (£44.1million).
That is according to El Confidencial, as cited by Calciomercato, who claim that it will not be as difficult a financial situation for the clubs to overcome as previously reported.
This seems extremely unlikely, with Courtois one of the brightest stars at the Blues’ disposal.
At just 26-years old, Courtois has his best years ahead of him, and Chelsea are unlikely to sell for a price so low that they couldn’t appropriately replace the Belgian with.
Reports have suggested Chelsea consider Roma goalkeeper Alisson their ideal replacement for the Belgium international goalkeeper, and with Liverpool having backed out of the race, they sit in prime position.
If they were to sell Courtois for the reported fee, they would nee to reinvest that money and then some to land the Brazilian, with the Selecao man valued at around £70million. - Read Sport
