Chelsea are still working on a new deal for French midfielder N’Golo Kante, with the Blues hoping about getting the player to re-sign.
French outlet Telefoot explains that the club remain in discussions with the player’s representatives over a big-money deal to extend his time at Stamford Bridge.
Both parties have been in talks since the summer but no agreement has been met as of yet.
There was interest from Paris Saint-Germain throughout the summer, which Kante himself has confirmed, but the Blues are looking to tie him down for the foreseeable future.
Kante’s current deal at Stamford Bridge runs out in 2021.
Previous reports have claimed that he could become Chelsea’s highest paid player with a salary in the region of £290,000 a week.
Chelsea will also be hopeful that Eden Hazard will put pen to paper on a new deal soon, which could eclipse the £290,000 a week being offered to Kante. - Read Sport
