Armed robbers raided Cross Rivers clinic, snatched staff ATM, others


Two armed robbers who raided a private medical centre in the early hours of Friday have been arrested by the Police in Calabar, Cross River State.
DAILY POST gathered that the suspects on Friday around 4am robbed the medical centre, Mambo Clinic along Atamunu Street, Calabar and carted away various property valued at several Thousands of Naira.
The suspects also robbed nurses, staff and patients of their personal belongings including phones and two Plasma LG TV set.
The hoodlums equally snatched the ATM card of a nurse and compelled her to give them the pin code in which she obliged.
The hoodlums, we gathered took the ATM to the Diamond Bank at Mary Slessor Avenue for withdrawal.
When contacted, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Inuwa Hafiz said the Police received a distress call about the attack at Mambo Clinic.
“At this point, the police surveillance team from Uwanse division condoned the Bank ATM point where the suspects, Emmanuel Bassey Ironbar and Daniel Bassey were arrested.”
He said the suspects have confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.
“The duo took the police to their hideouts at Murrey Street Calabar where the two LG Plasma TV sets were recovered and the ATM card retrieved from the bandits” he stated. - DAILY POST
