London, 21 August 2026 — Detectives have launched a murder investigation after human remains were discovered in woodland in Feltham, west London.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called at around 6.35pm on Wednesday, 12 August, following reports that bones had been discovered in woodland close to Padstow Walk. Subsequent forensic examinations confirmed that the remains were human.
Police believe the remains are those of a woman aged approximately 25 to 45, although investigators have yet to establish her identity. It is also not known how long the remains had been at the location.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on Monday, 17 August. Following the examination, detectives launched a murder investigation as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said officers were keeping an open mind while working to establish what happened.
The woodland has been cordoned off and is expected to remain a crime scene for several weeks as forensic specialists and detectives continue their investigation.
The discovery has prompted police to appeal to members of the public who may have information that could help identify the woman or shed light on how she died.
Police are particularly urging anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious around Padstow Walk, Feltham, to come forward.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have stressed that identifying the victim is a key priority as detectives attempt to piece together the events surrounding her death.
