A Kano Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday ordered the remand of a 17-year-old boy in prison custody for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old boy.
The defendant, who lives at Mandawari Quarters Kano, is facing a charge of ‘unnatural offence.’
The Senior Magistrate, Zubair Inuwa, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case until June 6 for mention.
The prosecutor, Insp. Yakubu Galadima, told the court that one Sa’adatu Yahaya, of the same address, reported the case at Mandawari Police Division Kano, on April 16.
He said that on March 15 at about 8 p.m., the complainant noticed that her nine-year-old son was not feeling fine.
“The victim told his mother that the defendant deceived and lured him into an entrance of a school situated at Mandawari Quarters.’
“He said that the defendant defiled him on several occasions.’’
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge leveled against him.
Galadima said the offence contravened Section 284 of the Penal Code.
