Aston Villa have made a firm contract offer to former England captain John Terry, according to a joint report from Matt Law and John Percy of the Telegraph.
The 36-year-old’s contract with Chelsea officially expires at the end of June, at which point, he becomes a free agent.He’s allowed to speak to interested parties now and the Telegraph say that he has over ten offers on the table and one of those is from Aston Villa
Premier League sides Bournemouth, Swansea City and West Brom have apparently approached Terry, as have Villa’s local rivals Birmingham City
Furthermore, clubs in both China and the MLS are interested in signing him too, although it is understood that he’s likely to stay in the UK as he does not want to uproot his family.
Villa’s offer is apparently a very lucrative one, albeit it contains a lot of performances related bonuses and incentives that could, if he meets them all, earn Terry overt £4million a year.
