Antonio Rudiger signs five-year deal at Chelsea after completing £34m move from Roma

Antonio Rudiger has joined Chelsea for a fee of £34million.

The defender has signed a long-term deal with the Stamford Bridge club after moving from Roma.
Premier League champions Chelsea have moved quickly to tie up the loose ends of the deal after losing out in the race to sign Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea were able to beat off late competition from Manchester City to secure the deal.

The Blues have been looking at Virgil van Dijk, Leonardo Bonucci and Jerome Boateng but have sealed a deal for Rudiger.
Rudiger, 24, has signed a five-year contract and will wear the No.2 shirt.
The defender said: "It’s a great feeling because not every player has the opportunity to join a huge club like this.
"I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and I’m very proud to officially become a Chelsea player."

It is only Chelsea's second arrival of the summer following their capture of Manchester City keeper Willie Caballero.
Rudiger has been a vital part of the Roma side that qualified for the Champions League last season.
