Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to play the kids in this season’s Europa League as he focuses on the club’s Premier League title push.
As reported by the Mail Online, Wenger does not see the competition as a priority for the club, despite being guaranteed Champions League qualification from winning it.
Wenger will hand chances to his fringe and younger players during the European games, in a bid to keep his first-team stars fit for the league campaign.
Antonio Conte and Chelsea flourished last season by not competing in Europe and it was cited as one of the key factors in their title success.
Wenger will be hoping to replicate the Italian’s success with the aim of allowing his key players more rest and recovery in between fixtures.
Manchester United secured their place in this season’s Champions League through winning the competition and the new incentive has changed team’s perception of the competition, but Wenger is clearly looking elsewhere. - Read Sport
