Biafra: IPOB blows hot over fresh military exercise in Igboland

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has raised the alarm over another military exercise in Isiama Afaraukwu, Abia State.

Accordingly, IPOB has described the exercise as an act of provocation.
A statement by Emma Powerful, IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, condemned the exercise which, he said, comprised of a combined team of the Navy, Army, Police, Immigration, and Civil Defence.
The separatists group said the exercise would be a “second invasion of our leader’s village, Afaraukwu, Umuahia, Abia State”.
The group said a combination of the army, police, and the paramilitary is “another military overreach by the Fulani-controlled hierarchy of the Nigerian defence establishment.”
According to the group, “This is a clear confirmation that the entire East is under siege for no apparent reason other than the need for the Fulani caliphate to prove their dominance over the rest of Nigeria.”
It said the blatant provocation was one of the many reasons why it called for a nationwide strike on September 14, 2018, “to protest the military occupation of Biafraland”.
“Biafrans are peaceful people but this unfortunate invasion of our villages and the home of our leader in this 2018 may result in unintended consequences,” the group warned.
“The very quiet Afaraukwu Ibeku community in Umuahia, Abia State, now has more military presence and activity than Sambisa forest,” it said. -Daily Post
