The agent of Kelechi Iheanacho has confirmed that Southampton are one of six teams interested in the forward this summer.
He has confirmed that West Ham, Everton, Southampton, Borussia Dortmund, West Brom and Hoffenheim have registered interest in the striker.
Speaking to OwnGoalNigeria, Iheanacho’s agent said this:
“He has been linked to almost every club this summer, it’s a good feeling to be honest, it tells you a lot about his abilities. Officially we have had bids from five teams while two more have only made inquiries over his availability.”“West Ham, Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim, Southampton, West Brom and Everton have all registered their interest in his services. The others are just inquiries, we have over 10 teams in that regards.”
The 20-year-old has started five Premier League games this season – with four league goals to his name.
The Nigerian has also scored two goals in one Champions League match – he is a proven goalscorer.
Iheanacho made his breakthrough in the 2015/16 season as he scored 15 goals in all competitions for City – despite only starting 12 games. This included two against Southampton at St.Mary’s last year.
Southampton manager Claude Puel’s future has come under question of late, but that does not appear to have stopped the club from looking at signings for next season.
Les Reed looks to be getting business done as quickly as possible to hit the ground running next season.
