Cheryl has legally changed her name back to Tweedy - reveals boyfriend Liam Payne

As Cheryl settles into a happy domestic life with Liam Payne and their little boy, Bear, it seems she's been keen to put the past behind her - definitively.

Having previously been known by the surnames Cole and Fernandez-Versini, the 33-year-old Fight For This Love singer has now legally changed her name back to Tweedy, according to her boyfriend.
In a move that puts to bed the ghosts of her failed romance, the singer - who has come to be known only by her first name - has reverted back to her maiden name; following marriages to Ashley Cole and Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

Making the big reveal during a chat with Radio 1 Xtra, Liam dropped the bombshell that his girlfriend had made the move to legally changed her name.

“Her name is officially Cheryl Tweedy now, but to be honest it doesn’t really bother me, we have a kid together, there’s a lot more to our life,” Liam replied succinctly, shutting down the line of questioning.

Liam's revelation came as the One direction star was asked if he got annoyed that the majority of people refer to the mother of his child by her two married names.

Speaking about who had been the one to play Cupid, Liam revealed it had in-fact be down to both Niall and the X Factor boss - while before it had been widely put down to Simon on his own.
“It just came about one day. Niall came up to me and said, ‘You’ll never guess who’s got a crush on you?’

“And I was like, ‘who?’ He’s like, ‘Cheryl’. Niall hooked it up. Simon kind of half hooked it up,” Liam explained.
