Queen Elizabeth made a rare trip out on the town, appearing at a posh London restaurant with a mystery companion.
Her Majesty was photographed making her debut at celebrity hangout, The Ivy, in Covent Garden.
But it was the woman who featured on her purse that got onlookers talking.
With a striking similarity to the late Princess Margaret in the 1960s, many speculated whether she might be sporting an accessory carrying her sister’s image.
But closer inspection revealed the word “Helen” alongside the illustration, which also features three young children.
The puzzling purse complemented The Queen’s stunning silver ensemble with a black paisley shawl as she attended the party of a friend on Thursday.
It was an unusual trip for food and drink away from Buckingham Palace where the monarch has a small army of waiting staff and chefs to cater for her every culinary need.
She was visiting alongside Prince and Princess Michael of Kent as well as Britain’s Got Talent judge, David Walliams.
Her Majesty is arguably the most famous person to visit The Ivy over its 100 year history. She is in esteemed company, however.
