Chelsea’s pursuit of AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has been well reported over the course of the last few months.
It was looking as though a move for the Frenchman to Stamford Bridge was nailed on, with negotiations seemingly going well and Antonio Conte evidently keen on the midfielder.
However, according to reports out in France today, the Blues may need to cough up an extra €20m on top of their current offer of €30m if they want to land Bakayoko.
The Ligue 1 champions are keen to keep hold of the core of their team, and are reluctant to oversee an exodus of their key players this summer.
It’s hard to say whether or not Bakayoko is worth the reported valuation of €50m, but Conte is said to be an admirer of his energy and style of play, so the Blues may still be ready to spend big on the Monaco man.
