Kyle Walker close to signing for Man City

England v Lithuania - FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier

According to numerous media outlets, Manchester City are close to completing the signing of Kyle Walker.

The Sky Blues have been chasing Walker for most of the transfer window, with Spurs reportedly holding out for an oversized fee.
It’s thought that the clubs have now agreed on a figure of around £50m (with add-ons potentially taking the deal higher).

He’s supposedly due in for a medical tomorrow (Friday) and will then head on tour with his new teammates.

At that price, Walker will become the most expensive defender ever – some statement of intent from a Manchester City side that have already done some expensive, early business.
It’s a blow for Spurs, who will now be hoping to kick start their own transfer spending with the record breaking fee they’ll receive from the sale.

Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to consolidate his excellent, ongoing work whilst the interruptions of a stadium move begin to come to the fore.
