Southampton appear to be adamant that no key players will be sold his summer, but Manchester City are reportedly ready to tempt them with an offer of £25m for Ryan Bertrand.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Pep Guardiola is keen to kick on with his summer dealings and is plotting a swoop for the England international.
Bertrand has been identified as a viable option for City, who have been linked with the England international for some time now.
The former Chelsea man signed a new long-term contract with Saints last summer and the club are aiming to dig their heels in to keep hold of him

However, a fee of around £25m for Bertrand, who turns 28 next month, could be an attractive proposition.
It’s likely that the defender would only be a backup at City, with a big-money move for Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy set to go through.

Bertrand will be keen to get as much game time as he possibly can in the upcoming season, as he looks to cement his place in Gareth Southgate’s starting line-up with England’s World Cup 2018 campaign at the end of the campaign.
