Manchester United chief Ed Woodward skips US tour in bid to clinch Ivan Perisic and Eric Dier transfers

Manchester United are trying to push through a £45million move for Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic by next week.

Manager Jose Mourinho wants to make the 28-year-old attacker his third big-money signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
Inter want £50m for Perisic, but United are only willing to go to £45m and are hoping their take-it-or-leave-it final offer will see the deal go ahead.

Perisic, who has joined up with Inter at their pre-season training camp in northern Italy, wants his club to sanction his move to Manchester as quickly as possible.
United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has remained in the UK as their US pre-season tour begins here to try to close a deal for Perisic — along with the £50m capture of Tottenham’s England midfielder Eric Dier.
Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has stated he wants to keep Perisic.

But the Italians need the money from his sale and United remain confident a deal can be struck.
Perisic is due to fly to China with Inter next Tuesday to take part in International Champions Cup pre-season games.
United are aiming to make him their player before then. - Mirror
