Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti believes Renato Sanches could join Manchester United this summer, the Independent reports.
Sanches did not have the best of debut seasons for Bayern after a big-money move from Benfica last summer, which has led to reports of the Portuguese international leaving the Allianz this window.
“A move [to United] could be a possibility but there is also a chance he could stay with us for the season.”Manchester United have been the main club linked with the 19-year-old, with their manager, Jose Mourinho, saying that he would’ve brought in Sanches to United if he was at the helm before he joined Bayern in May 2016.
Sanches won the young player of the European Championships in France 2016 as his national side won the tournament, beating the hosts 1-0 in the final after a goal from Eder in extra time.
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said this regarding Sanches:
“He won’t get enough minutes at Bayern, so we’re willing to negotiate a loan deal and maybe beyond that. If a club is interested in a Bayern player, they must be ready to deal with significant economic figures. We’ll say that it wouldn’t be bad if a £43m offer came in for him.”AC Milan have also expressed an interest in the player, but the Italian side may favour a loan deal after a busy summer of spending at the San Siro.
