Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to pay more than £40m to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, according to Sky sources.
Contrary to reports from France on Tuesday of a €50m (£44.7m) bid from PSG, Sky Sports News understands Arsenal have yet to receive an offer for Sanchez from the Ligue 1 side.
Sanchez has just 12 months left on his Arsenal contract, but manager Arsene Wenger is adamant the club have made a decision not to sell the 28-year-old and will stick to that.
PSG will look to test Arsenal's nerve though, with the French side also willing to offer Sanchez more than £250,000 a week.
Former Barcelona forward Sanchez is interested in the prospect of working with Pep Guardiola once again at Manchester City.
Wenger this week insisted PSG are going after Barcelona's Neymar because they know they have no chance of signing Sanchez.
The Gunners boss reiterated Sanchez has not asked to leave this summer and that the club have no financial need to sell the Chile international. - SKY
