Real Madrid will open talks with Manchester United about the transfer of goalkeeper David De Gea after Alvaro Morata has completed his transfer to the Premier League club, according to a report on the Express.

The Spanish Champions are waiting for United to sign Morata before they make any move for the Spanish keeper, who has been a key figure for United ever since he arrived from Atletico Madrid.

Spanish news outlet Don Balon claim that Real Madrid are still interested in De Gea, who nearly joined the UEFA Champions League winners last summer.
There was a suggestion that De Gea could be used as part of a swap deal for Morata but Real Madrid were not keen on the idea and are waiting for confirmation of Morata’s move to Manchester before they open negotiations over De Gea.

United manager Jose Mourinho will be desperate to hold on to De Gea as he looks to assemble a squad which can challenge in the Premier League as well as against Europe’s elite sides in the UEFA Champions League.
Keeping De Gea at Old Trafford for another season would almost be United’s best activity in the transfer window as his reputation as one of the world’s best goalkeepers continues to grow.
But should Real Madrid come calling, it will be difficult for the Spanish keeper to reject them.
